    I like the style of the CB1100, but when I sat on it, it felt so heavy. The Z900RS felt very nimble when I sat on it and when I bought one I found out it really is. :)

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  6 лет назад +9

      The Z900RS is nimbler anyway, but the heavier CB1100RS is actually very nicely balanced so you totally forget its weight as soon as you ride it... I wish you many safe and fun rides with your Z900RS :)

      I have a 2014 cb 1100. I felt that maybe I bought more bike in weight than I wanted. I talked with another guy about that, and he said, give it time. I couldn't be happier, I'm happy with the weight for highway travel, and I now quickly forget each time I ride it, just how much it weighs. On the side roads, and highway it handles like it's a part of you. It never feels to heavy, the balance is so incredible. A lot of fun. I've always been a crotch rocket fan, and this handles, in many ways the same...

    They are both good bikes, but I think the Kawasaki has better handling and it has more power. Anyway, I bought the Kawasaki 900RS three weeks ago after thinking about it for about a month, and I’m very happy with it and I know I made the right choice for me.

      Thanks. I’ve done nearly 3,000 kms and it is run in.
      I love the power, the handling, the sound it makes, the torque at 2,000 rpm and the power at 8,500 rpm. And of course the looks. Every time I stop people want to talk about it.
      I’ve owned lots of bikes but for me this is the best one.

    I have been struggling to make a decision between the Triumph Speed Twin/Kawasaki Z900/BMW R9T/Honda CB1100 RS. I’ve owned a BMW K1200LT which was a great tourer, a Honda Goldwing and a Honda F6C. I have to say that both Hondas were fantastic, well engineered and trouble free bikes and kept their value..........so it’ll be the classically styled Honda CB1100 for me, it really is a thing of beauty.

    The K is a modern bike trying to look old school, the H is a old school power bike with modern safety features. The stereo springs and air cooled engine on the H looks great. It also feels more mature and timeless, the K feels more like a toy.

    Thank you Mr Kiddo. I have just put a deposit on a new CB. It was between this and the z900. The kawasaki is very nice but as someone else has written here it seems a little bit confused as to what exactly it is. The CB not so much. I am 49 so tonking around no longer appeals. After 29 years of riding bikes on the UK's congested and often crappy roads sub 75 mph riding in comfort and style is what I am after. Pick it up next week. Not sure what you mean about the z900 being confused about what it is. I think your confused and not the bike, its a classic looking bike with modern tech. A lot of people like the classic look but not the classic ride and that's what the z900rs is. I don't know why anyone would want a new bike that performs like an old bike, if that's what you want then just get an actual classic.

    • @petebusch9069
      @petebusch9069 6 лет назад +1

      @Bunnyshooter 223 Totally agree, who want's to ride a NEW bike that rides like an old bike? Its the "classic" performance that we can live without but want a classic look, or a bike that doesn't look like a transformer or something from Star Wars.

    Excellent comparative review. I was sitting on a fence deciding between CB1100, Z900RS and XSR900 after I sold my big adventure bike. CB1100 is a bona fide retro bike, whereas Z900RS is entirely modern. I think Z900RS and XSR900 would be apples to apples. I was about to pull a trigger on Z900RS, but came across practically new CB at at 40% of Kawasaki price. Made my choice so much easier!

      Excellent choice! Not sure the power of the Kawasaki is a handicap, as this is a smooth 4-cylinder engine. Both are nicely powerful and torquey anyway. The engine of the Kawasaki feels a bit sharper, but the air-cooled engine of the Honda offers very special feelings...

    I've always been a Honda guy and the CB1100 got the retro thing more exact. But in riding both, the Z900RS is IMHO the better handling and performing bike of the two. I don't think Honda is selling the CB1100 in the USA for 2020, it just didn't capture any market here.

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  4 года назад

      The Z900RS is more performing indeed, but the CB1100 offers a kind of old school feeling even when you're riding it. So it depends what you're looking for! For 2020, the CB1100 isn't marketed anymore in Europe neither (but some dealers still have the 2019 model in their inventories), because a new model will likely be introduced at the end of the year ;)

    I wish to own a Z900rs but sad I couldn't afford one. It's so retro and nice for rural and urban travels. Sports bike are good for racing and other long running travels, too. But the Z900rs looks so smooth and cool for everything. I can imagine myself driving it with fancy denim or leather jacket over a checkered cowboy dress shirt, leather boots, and wearing an aviator sun glasses. Is it not awesome. How I wish...

    I recognized Paris straight away ... ! :)
    The Parisians have excellent taste in motorcycles. Many interesting models that I rarely see at home.
    In this instance the Kawasaki seems to be the better bike. Lighter, more powerful - and every bit as stylish as the Honda. The years will tell what bike is the better quality. But for now, my vote is on the "Kwack"

    Thank you for making this video.... I have future plans to purchase a second smaller\lighter bike, I fell in love with the "neo-classic" class when they started coming out and decided my new bike would come from this class. Over time I just happened to narrow my interest to either one of these two motorcycles you compared... This vid didn't help in the least bit make my decision any easier.... LOL :)
    I 100% agree it would be hard to go wrong with either so realistically, when I do make my purchase it'll come down to which bike I can get the best deal on price wise.

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  6 лет назад +2

      The R NineT is a great bike too. If you like its style or the special feelings provided by the flat-twin engine, it could be a good choice 👌 Otherwise, I think it's too expensive compared to the CB1100RS and the Z900RS, while it doesn't really offer much... 🤔 Between the CB1100 and the R NineT, I'd personally choose the Honda 😉

      If you were in the United States,, and had over 40 years riding experience and working on bikes,, and truly informed,,. !!! You wouldn't touch them BMW pieces of junk any of that shit out of India or China,,,. A XL 1200 custom Harley Davison,,. Five or six years old,,,. Five or six thousand dollars,,. And it'll never drop below $3,000 resale,,. And only a Honda out of Japan,,. The best long-term dependability least amount of repairs and depreciation,. The high RPM type bikes are Beat to Death and then junked too much money to rebuild them engines,,,. If you got the money to throw away on a new bike,, the CB 1100 e s. Will be Dependable for 30 years if you don't try to beat it to death,,. !!! The z900rs is a nice bike too but it'll be ready fon head work and rings,,,. Way before the Honda,, !!! Any high RPM engine,, that will hit 10 or 12 thousand RPMs,,, kills its long-term longevity,,. ???

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  4 года назад +1

      I have compared the Z900RS and the CB1100 in the video. I haven't tried the XSR 900. I know it has the same engine than the MT-09 (also called FZ-09 in some markets), which is a very exciting engine, I'm sure it's a very enjoyable bike to ride, but it doesn't look as beautiful as the Z900RS or the CB1100 in my personal opinion.

    Well made honest video. This is going to be a very tough nut to crack as like you said all of the bikes you have ridden have your sympathy. However, knowing you as a Honda rider my guess is that you will end up buying the CB1100. It's gorgeous classic looks combined with the rugged build quality and it's ride qualities (Honda bikes are known for being almost indestructable) suit you and your riding style well if i may say so ;-). But there is a gap of about 3000 euros between the two (here in Holland that is) and that could be a deciding factor for some.
    My personal choice: the Kawasaki for the combination of retro and modern styling (and also a little bias ;-) ).
    Hope you will have made the decision soon. Can't wait to see what you'll buy. Ride Safe ;-)

    • @MrKiddoMoto
      @MrKiddoMoto  6 лет назад

      Thank you Ray! 😊 Wow, the CB1100 is so expensive in the Netherlands 😱 In France, it costs between 12,500€ (EX version, MY2017) and 13,500 (RS version, MY2018), so the price difference with the Z900RS never exceeds 1,200 euros. It's pretty fair, considering that it offers some extra features: dual exhaust, dual rear shocks, hydraulic clutch, central stand, etc. But a gap of 3,000 euros is way too much, and would make the Z900RS a much better deal... Ride safe too my friend ✌🏻

    The Kawasaki looks nice but I prefer the Honda.
    Looks more classic
    The pair of rear springs look better than the mono
    Those large clear analogue dials
    The large looking engine
    The chrome and aluminium
    The pair of chrome exhausts
    The two horns
    The long flat bench seat
    The torque
    Honda quality build and reliability
    The Honda CB1100 is a conservative classy motorbike that is for keeps; i.e. buy and never sell.
    I would find it hard to make the decision between the CB1100RS and CB1100EX because the looks of the EX make it look even more classic with the spoked wheels and chrome rear springs.

    • @MrKiddoMoto

    Génial ton essai, et facilement traduisible 😂. J ’ai eu l’occasion de tester la Z900rs, et j’ai adoré son comportent et l’allongé de son moteur. Mais comme tu l’as si bien dit, elle veut se faire passer pour une ancienne mais par la faute d’une esthétique moteur trop moderne, elle gache un peu. J’ai donc décidé, mon banquier m'a un peu aidé, de choisir la Honda que je trouve magnifique ! Pour la conduite je te dirais ça à la rentrée, merci encore à toi.
