    This type of live format when you go back and forth between having someone come up on stage and confront their fear, but then hyper analyze it is phenomenal content, like if you edited and uploaded more vids exactly like this one. I would watch every single one

      What I observed is when you swap back and forth, when you go back to your desk in real time, your voice is very calm, soft spoken, and because it’s different, I immediately pay more attention and focus to what you’re saying, like it’s asmr lol

    back in high school, I remember doing class presentations while holding my cue cards with notes... I was always so terrified that my class could CLEARLY see how much my hands & cue cards were visibly trembling, and I would be motivated to rehearse more and more just to AVOID holding anything in my shakey hands. Could not risk showing any vulnerability (still struggling with it sometimes!)
    Such huge props to her, she did so well engaging with this activity in front of a mega packed room full of men, all while chipping away at the "front". Can't imagine doing the same myself, big big props.
    and yeah.. anyone in the audience who didn't raise their hand about being afraid of public speaking, SUUUURE ;)
    Great piece of a content!

  • @nickp3949

    The problem with me is that we live in a cruel world and if you let other people see your vulnerabilities, say goodbye to any kind of sexual attraction, say goodbye to boundary setting, say goodbye to respect (instead they’ll just feel pity), you’ll be a lesser, weaker person in their eyes. Also they’ll use it all against you if they need to. It’s a lose-lose. People’s perception of you is very important when it comes to success, happiness and getting the things you want out of life.
    So I get what he’s trying to say here, but there is a very important reason why we’re afraid to let people see our weakness. Our social status, dating life, job opportunities, etc…our entire life depends on it. It’s essentially the “don’t make me the runt of the pack” type thinking, that’s where the fear comes from. We’re afraid of being outcasted, tossed aside, discarded from our place in society. And the reason why we fear that is because we’ve been in that situation in the past, we’ve filled that role. That’s where the low self esteem and insecurities come from. So we do everything we can to avoid it.

      You have a point. But what if we're able to realise we're above people's opinions of us. Or realise there's always abundance no matter what happens e.g. if we lose our job, there's always another job. I know it's a difficult mindset to cultivate but it's possible.
      Also social anxiety makes us focus on things that don't even really matter such as how we walk, talk etc. These are things that people don't even care about in the grand scheme of things.

    • @pauluskim2028

      Authenticity only works because youre not trying to be cool or elevate yourself and are actually showing true confidence. But as soon as you start using it as a strategy to be cooler or compensate for anxiety/low self esteem it loses its charm. And you cant really stop doing these things because as the comment above says, as social creatures were reliant on others opinions for survival and happiness.

    Julien, I really don't like writing this, but we had those reading classes up to 5th grade in my day. Unfortunately I got yelled at by the teacher because I WAS THAT GUY making fun of those who couldn't read as well as I could. I now feel quite bad about that. It's kinda like that part in Billy Madison where he calls the people he wronged and tells them he was just trying to be funny so people would like him. It sucks thinking back about it, but I'm glad I got yelled at and now I fully understand it's better to instead try to HELP THEM instead of laughing. It does us all good in the end to help each other.
    Yourself and Owen have helped me learn so much about myself. I look forward to the day when I can go to one of these and even take the extra courses. Much respect!

    I remember Brad (Wade) talking about this way back in the day. Limiting beliefs once uncovered can only be let go of by owning why they're there in the first place, then by giving your subconscious reference experiences to build the new belief, which is really the belief you would have had without the negative conditioning (the trail of whys). Powerful stuff. Action, Trigger, Release, Repeat.

    • @stanleypierre5042

      love how you explained that. completely agree. When people say this is who "I" am they are not realizing the "I" they're referring to is a conditioned "I". The real YOU is who you are without any negative conditioning. that's it. that's the true self.

    Its crazy how much I always like the persons that are getting super emotional and vulnerable on stage, when they show their true self. Somehow I wish I could go throuh life like that with complete honesty and no mask. By the way I think would be scared to speak on stage because I am scared of not knowing what to say and blanking and than that not corresponding with my ego / self image of a cool guy.

      What you said reminds me of a quote in a socially anxitey book by Gillian Butler, Socially anxious people tend to
      Assume that there interactions with others will be painfully revealing and that people will notice their weakness
      Or awkwardness and tendacy to blush, seeing things this way makes it hard to interact naturally with people.

    My anxiety is literally killing every part of me, I'm one who is at the extreme level of social anxiety, i feel like i should have friends to talk then only i'll act bit normal otherwise I'm so low, in my coaching classes when sir teaches I'm totally losted and realise that after some time, oh! What is he teaching, the feeling is like i somewhere see myself through someone else eyes, i feel i'm always awkward, idk how those girls and boys talk to each other when i'm dying of this shitty anxiety. And this started to happen with me from last year, earlier i used to be a normal girl who don't think much, i was in school and whatever mam teaches, atleast i remain in the moment, that's true that i don't have any true friend right now, becoz ik i need to know myself well to make others know me, I CAN'T EXPLAIN IT'S KILLING ME FROM INSIDE

      @@JulienHimself that we ALL have insecurities and self-doubts, even those that appear confident. hey guys, i have a question and i would love to hear different opinions:
    as a guy, it's not always easy to be open about your feelings and to be vulnerable, especially around a woman. you know, you don't wanna be p*ssy. not that i think that, but that's pretty common amongst men.
    i would consider myself really open, honest and vulnerable. especially the death of my dear mother taught me that. and it feels absolutely amazing to be open about yourself and your emotional world.
    .. here's the point: in some moments i catch myself with thoughts like "don't say that, you would come across as a wuss." or "the girl loses attraction when you're too open. it doesn't show that you confident" and so on.
    my question to all of you is: whats the difference between a guy people would consider a wuss and a person, who likes to share how he's feeling without any front?
    thanks to everyone who read this. have an awesome day and always stay true to yourself.

    • @4blakE2duB0nesS
      @4blakE2duB0nesS 2 года назад

      There's no difference. In the black & white fallen world we live in, men must act manly in order to be respected by other men & sexually selected by women. Men have predominantly more masculine energy, which is confident & secure by nature. Women have more feminine energy which is insecure by nature. Insecurity always seeks security. If you're too transparent & honest about your private thoughts & emotions that portray unmanliness..you won't be respected. Women will lose sexual attraction for you and either: 1) stay with you for your resources & cheat on you. or 2) Break up with you & fuck someone more emotionally secure.

    • @Ela29653
      @Ela29653 11 месяцев назад +1

      I think the difference is the inner confidence of being yourself vs being like a weak man who is cowardly. Women don't like cowardly man. Like we want to feel if someone attacked us you would protect us not run away. So emotional expression itself to me isn't cowardly, but leaving your woman open to attack is cowardly.

    Hey Julien, so once I get to what I think the root of my social anxiety is, what do I do? I think I’ve dug deep and identified the cause and my fear and what it means, do I just try to remember it in the moment? Or just remind myself constantly about the root cause/reasoning, e.g - scared of being judged, because don’t want people to not like me, because don’t want those negative emotions

      IMO, when the feeling arises, allow it to express but you're aware of expressing it. Kinda observe w/o judgement. Then when the feeling kinda subside, remember what you've dug deep in yourself. And move on despite the fear that still in there

    No one ever mentions the things I would fear so I never get to hear Julien address them. But I'd love to get his thoughts on:
    (1) Turning really red. I'm pretty white so when I blush, it's very obvious, and very awkward.
    The next two are a little more serious
    (2) Passing out
    (3) Throwing up
    Julien might say, well what would be so bad about that? Answer: I don't want to be known as the guy who threw up or passed out in front of a bunch of people. It's on a whole nother level of embarrassment... and it stays with you for the rest of your life.
    Thoughts? Tips?
    But besides the extremes mentioned above, my fears, in general, are the crowd not perceiving me as my ideal self. I have high standards for myself. I pride myself on my taste in actors and comedians. I know what's good, I know what's funny, and that's the standard I place on myself. And I'm afraid if I don't attain to that, people are going to view me the way that I view me, as not as cool as Denzel or funny as Chappelle... i.e., as someone doesn't "have it"

    The issue I have is that my imagination is pretty great, and when I do the worst case scenario question it always ends up with me suffering/dying in some truly horrific way.
    Like I'm feeling anxious about going to the grocery store. What's the worst thing that could happen? I die in a fiery car crash on the way there or back.
    I'm scared of going to church/Bible study. What's the worst thing that could happen? A gunman could break in and commit a mass shooting. I could be killed or even worse my husband could be killed. Or we survive and have to suffer and live with the trauma of that event for the rest of our lives.
    I'm anxious about driving somewhere new. I could get lost, run out of gas, a serial killer could happen upon me stranded and could rape me, kill me, and leave me dead in a ditch. Or worse hide my body so my loved ones never find our what happens to me.
    Or my car goes off a bridge and I end up trapped inside the car as it's filling up with water, and I end up drowning when I can't hold my breath for another minute.
    This is why this is a problem. My brain can always come up with horrific things that could possibly happen even in the most mundane of circumstances. Are they likely to happen, no, but the question is very open ended.

      1. Remember we are "Energy beings", we manifest by channeling.
      2. Survival emotions like "fear" are extremely low vibrational. Anxious people usually operate from the place of low vibrations.
      3. Now practice operating from "elevated emotions" like Love, joy, gratitude, kindness. It's the greatest antidote and your life will beautifully turn around.

    It's almost dangerous to do what you just did. Asking a person who has a social anxiety or worse, a social phobia to come up there, she didn't even have the time to realize that she was coming up there. What the fuck. She wasn't even breathe. Her eyes are popping out. You should have noticed it if you were so good. I bet her experience was traumatizing. She was feeling pressured to answer. She wasn't even feeling what she was saying. And I love how you interprete and explain her answer 😂 Like it's just so dangerous to put your mental health problems in the hands of anyone. She looks like she's not even listening at what you're saying, she's in panic. And suffering from that too, I had a feeling of panic just watching this. You can't just apply "advice" or "exercices" on EVERYONE. Everyone doesn't work the same way. What the fuck. You can't just apply the same thing on everyone. You show just as much you lack experience as a person who gives psychological advice. I wouldn't want to be there. If she has a panic attack, what would you have done ? You wouldn't act that clever on a video. Shocked.

    This is a form of minor social anxiety. People with social phobia have trouble even leaving their homes, doing groceries, having one on one conversations with people. They do not attend seminars like this, they end up in psychiatric treatment when their isolation starts to create bigger problems. They have huge problems speaking up in small therapy groups, sometimes leaving the room because just being in a social setting is highly stressful for them.
    This woman is able to formulate coherent sentences in front of a large crowd, she is a bit nervous due to being somewhat inexperienced socially and introverted. Also, it is not true that everyone experiences social anxiety with public speaking. There are plenty of people in the population who enjoy being in front of crowds and enjoying the attention, even from a young age.
    This kind of social skills training is helpful for regular people with minor insecurities but the way this is framed is a bit hyperbolic, misleading marketing.

    • @epicipodmodz
      @epicipodmodz 2 года назад +1

      I kinda disagree with you. The marketing most likely targets, or works with the people that this kind of content would work for. When I watch these videos, they personally help me (and I just watch the free stuff on RUclips). You watch these videos and it does not resonate with you (I’m assuming you have social phobia or know someone who does which is why you went so in depth about how this wouldn’t work). Also, everything on the RUclips channel is free and they post long in depth videos, not short ones where good information is blocked by a paywall.

      This is the same logic as watching a bodybuilding video on how to get big arms and then you comment "um, actually this is false because there are some people that are missing arms so this is kind of misleading"
      See how dramatic that is?
      There are always outliers but most people with SA are going to be like her in the video

    • @Edwards87
      @Edwards87 2 года назад +1

      @@Jay-og4yb There are many people worldwide with social anxiety disorders, they are not outliers. It's not a rare diagnosis, it's a very prevalent condition. The girl in the video just isn't one of them. The fact you don't know this just highlights your ignorance and lack of expertise on the subject. Also, your analogy is ridiculous because people without arms cannot get big arms, people with social anxiety disorders can overcome them.

    • @Edwards87
      @Edwards87 2 года назад

      @@epicipodmodz I am a big fan of Julien. I really like the direction he took the last few years with transformation mastery and his trauma release work, although techniquely the term trauma is reserved for more severe events in clinical settings, but the way he frames the concept still massively helps people so it's okay for normal folks that use it. The problem arises when normal people with some minor issues start interacting with people that have real trauma, then the terminology just get's absurd and downplays victims or real trauma. That is the same parallel I am drawing here with minor social anxiety and an actual clinical diagnosis. You are right I went in depth because I work in the field. I don't understand the "it's free, so who cares" argument. Anyone is free to express their ideas obviously, but I am also free to point out that some of the terminology that is used clinically inaccurate and may lead to confusion and misleading expectations for those that consume the content as well as hijacking and belittling of a term that is reserved for individuals with clinically diagnosed disorders. It's somewhat similar to false claims of domestic and sexual violence (the likes of which we are currently seeing in the Heard vs Depp case, for example), it harms real victims.
