sounds like the gear setscrew needs to be adjusted. It ginds like that when it's not centered on the sproket its only 2 screws on the back end. If you go with a geared hub it's more reliable but less gears and a little more weight. The advantage is you can shift into any gear at any time with a geared hub. Gears are lighter and more options for the ratio you want

I'm in a wheelchair as well, I completely understand the continuous thoughts of everything that could go wrong. I flew across the country by myself for the first time a few years ago, I was pretty nervous! Especially because of the connecting flights. But nervousness changed to pride when I landed successfully. It's tough when something happens and all the things that used to be simple, now require extra time and prep. To have your whole life change in a blink of an eye. But just because it's different, doesn't mean it's bad. You are a wonderful example of that. Beautiful job on the bike ride, absolutely amazing!! I hope you have the best time in Iceland!

Hope our paths cross in California this winter. We’re close to having our van finished enough to go south. Superarm installed!

Wow, that was a great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it. You make me miss my mountain bike that I sold years ago. You can do the 75 miles/day for 14 days in Iceland! Train, train, train! You rock!
P.S. I also crave the solitude in nature and I totally get it.

Great video. Handicapper here with 30-years of recumbent riding.
Prefer 2WD, Rohloff gearbox. Could not get off for chain issue or flat tire.
Hase Lepus' here w/25-inch seat height. Wheelchair, twin forearm crutches here.
Deer darting on a downhill would easily flip a tadpole if emergency braking.
Cannot ride tadpoles for 15 years (getting on/off). Solid rubber tires here too.
    Fun to watch!

I can’t believe how strong your arms are! ❤👏 Oh my gosh, I had that unsettling feeling first time hiking alone. ❤ Beautiful drone views! Understand managing the pain daily.❤

Thanks for watching the video :)

I have! I climbed some indoor walls in Bend and San Francisco. Unfortunately, my shoulder is pretty bad so climbing isn't the best sport for me. I'm listening to an audiobook right now called "Take the Lead" and it's really making me wish I could do it again.
