That's a great looking van. So glad you finally got it. What a saga! Just a couple of observations from someone who's been through a similar process (in case it helps other viewers). (1) I went with VMI, because their vans have a separate battery backup for the ramp, in case the main battery dies. Braun didn't offer this when I bought mine. (2) That low-effort braking system is something I could really use, but I'm uncomfortable with the big hunk of metal sitting right in front of the knee. I know my legs aren't much use, but I still don't relish the idea of smashing my kneecap to a pulp in a front-end collision. Still, the DME industry is so backward and amateurish that I doubt anyone else makes anything safer. (3) VMI configurations generally have a bit more space in the back, making maneuvering bigger chairs easier. (4) You probably weren't given the option, but a retracting pin on the bottom of your chair would preserve your ground clearance. Before I got one, I bent the pin on uneven ground and curbs a couple of times, than found I couldn't secure the chair to the van. A retracting pin solved this problem.
I didn't know that contracting pins were a thing! I've definitely gotten stuck on a few buts of uneven pavement. If I'm ever up for a replacement pin I will definitely ask about this!
Hello, love your van. I have the Braunability Chrysler Pacifica Van, with the transfer seat installed. I usually transfer from my Wheelchair to the drivers seat or just drive my car that has the Braun Chair topper installed.
@@twofzerotYes it is, most of the time when I go camping I just sleep in the van instead of my tent. My wheelchair is manual so I can fold it up and put it between my seats.
Nice van, I’m looking at the current generation of Sienna’s. I currently have Grand Caravan BraunAbility foldout but I’m looking at a VMI Infloor because of length of my Permobil powerchair

The Pacifica was the other option we almost went with!! The Sienna is less roomy in the middle space but she gets the job done 😎
@@DisabledInNaturethe Pacifica is huge in the middle!
