- hi! thanks for coming to watch the first time i hear Fade To Black by Metallica! this is the 2nd Metallica song i am reacting to. please comment below which song i should listen to next. be part of my journey! sorry about all the hair flipping.

Thanks for tuning in! I love the feedback :) ps I just started an instagram account for my RUclips account so follow @iamslanzzy if you want.
You need to listen to Nightwish-Ghost Love Score. A great experience of how incredible Metal is in its different genres
Master of puppets about dealing with drug problems
I saw in you previous video that you are a millennial :). As such, my humble opinion is that you should check out 2 important bands, Evergrey and Dimmu Borgir. Totally different stiles but I'd like to see the reaction to the progressive nature of Evergrey Weightless and Dimmu Borgir Gateways (official video with captions on) the latter being a beautiful mix of disturbing image and existential nihilism in a symphonic black metal package. Best of wishes in your youtube endeavor, sub from me.
Metallica song Master of Puppets is a must for any new Metallica listener! Also try Yahweh or The Valley by a Christian metal band named Stryper. Promise you’ll love it!
Yes, Master of Puppets & 2 instrumentals - Orion & The Call Of Ktulu “stir the emotions” imo....glad you enjoy this older Metallica !
"this song is probably so important to so many people" It is, it saved my life!!!!!
Glad you stuck around brother!
Mine too,bro.
Relatable.
Sorry to hear your life needed saving but glad to hear you found the inspiration you needed.
this is an amazing and very emotional song, I cry everytime. I did a comics page of this when I was 15 yo and my mom freaked out when she saw it, she thought I was suicidal... powerful song from 'tallica.
The most haunting line from this masterpiece is, "I was me, but now he's gone".
mine is "Please smile when you think about me..
My body's gone, that's all..."
*oop... wrong room.. :D
Yeah very strong line✂️
Till this day that line was my savior because I was gone and I could not find myself
I have listened to this song since release, I know it forwards and backwards. But..Since my mom passed away , the only line I hear is " I was me but now he's gone" I believe the me that had a mom died with her, and this new incomplete version of me is left behind.
Yes. I say that to myself every day.
I realized i wasn't alone with depression because of this song. The fact that someone else understood the misery, hopelessness and anger i felt was very helpful to me. Thanks Metallica.
My friend of misery...my one self lol
The saddest part for me was years later when I figured out James wrote it after their gear got stolen and they thoughts they can’t tour Europe for the first time.
I mean yeah, sure, it was a big deal, but not as serious a topic as many people imagine when hearing this song.
@@Alpysf iirc there was a chance they might not have made it as a band because of the theft. So I can imagine it must have been extremely heavy weight to hear that your dreams might have just died.
I think it was a Marshall amplifier that James' mother helped him get before she passed away and it was stolen
YES INDEED!!!
This song literally saved my life. I do mean literally. In the depths of dark despair, a soulful sound did fill the air. Could I do a thing can't be undone, or stay, now I know I'm not alone?
Metallica saved my life...
Could I use that for a song I’m writing, I will put your name in the song writing credits if you do allow me, if not I understand
Glad you're still with us. Keep strong! Hugs
Haha, it's always so enjoyable watching someone listen to Metallica the first time. Even more so when they get it. Welcome aboard!
I was introduced to these guys when i was in high school, but it was just noise, loved 1, but didn't pursue. Its very recently that i really came back to them and understood their music. Gosh, its pure genius, no other way to describe it.
Reminds me of stealing my brothers casettes and listening with headphones because my Mom thought it was devil music...until I showed her the lyrics for Puppets and in particular Creeping Death "This is church stories mudder!" haha
Pero madre mía Willy que haces aquí compañero
like rock/metal/rap? check out my band and give us a sub if you like it!! ruclips.net/video/xFDwDX-p8PI/видео.html DROWNtheFISH!!!
Somehow, in some way, their music is not screams, shouts, noise, or bits... Its not just metal, rnr, etc. .... It's subtle and deep connecting power. It's a different spiritual level. Really. Maybe it's just me, but few songs from other musicians create this feeling to me..... They say that other bands do play harder, faster, better. It just doesn't matter.
Whenever I start watching a Fade to Black reaction my thought is: "I hope she/he appreciates the amazing extended soloing at the end because nobody does long, multi-layered solos like Metallica." Was not disappointed.
IT WAS INSANE!!!
The moment as a teenage realizing that your hero's go through the same crap in life and it gives your hope and the ability to face another day.
You're damn right!
Yep
Yes it reassuring to realize that your heros are human as well. =)
This song takes you to your deepest and darkest place and helps you climb out yourself.
This song would just break you down into pieces, literally destroy you. And then, when the song ends, you realize that it’s been actually gathering your pieces and reshaping them into a stronger version of your past self. It changes the way you look at life. Then suddenly you feel better after being so depressed. Such a masterpiece 🔥🤘
Fade to Black is prob one of best written and performed songs ever made.
You not wrong about that 👌
For Metallica lol
@@suicidalpigeon1674 for any band full stop.
i have to agree, this is by far the best song ever written imo
This is a basic song anyone burnt out on heavy drug and alcohol addiction can relate to. There song “one” however, is a song that transports all its listeners to a world known only by those who can’t hear it.
That’s the best they ever performed
Like a child taking it's first steps, the head nodding has shown a Metal Head is born!
Keep at it! 🤘
Now we just gotta work on timing and intensity lol
\m/
How awesome is it to see that dawning realisation in someone that metal is felt in the soul. Like many of us who first got our taste of metal glory in the 80's and early 90's, these millenials do have the capacity to become metal heads. Here's hoping slanzzy picks up that cudgel and carries this tradition forward.
I was noticing the exact same thing! Love it! :)
Benjamin Sartori don’t forget, a lot of us millennials were born in the early 80s like myself. Metal was still pretty popular when I was going thru high school but it was on the downhill slope at that point. Metallica was still going strong especially with the Black album. Slipknot, slayer, CoB, and fear factory were still the rage. Music has totally changed now, testosterone is pretty much nonexistent in the music that today’s male teens and 20-somethings listen to. It’s sad.
My uncle committed suicide while listening to this song. The pain is realized each time I hear it because in this song we the family that knew him, know this song meant he was on the fence about it and in contemplation. The song didn't push him over, but tried to save him. 😔
Exactly
Sorry 😔
Rest in peace to your uncle I am so sorry god bless you and your family I'm sorry bro
I just saw Metallica in August in Pittsburgh and during fade to black a girl started balling out crying behind me. The impact this song has had on people is incredible. One of Metallica’s best
I'll just drop this here: "Master of puppets"
It's the song that got me hooked to metal. Now I'm, what, 20 years in? GL.
This is where you need to start your Rest-of-your-life adventure with Metallica
Metallica has had me by the throat since 82, the year I joined the Corps. And in their 50s now, they're still killing it!
#hardwired #that was just your life.
Puppets should have been the first song
It's funny that what got you hooked to metal was a song about drugs XD
@@LeonBlackbird pun intended
Bleeding me is one of the most under rated Metallica song out there and right up your alley
I personally feel that Anesthesia (pulling teeth) is terribly under requested on these types of channels. Maybe because it's instrumental.
I agree, Bleeding Me is beautiful. Hell, S&M version is as amazing
Yup, that's been one of favourites since my Metallica age began.
This song is insane, because many listen the song on high depression with suicidal intentions but then when the amazing guitar solo comes they realized life worth it … amazing Metallica song
This song was my dads favorite song. I took it as a suicidal song. Keep in mind I was the one that turned my dad on to Metallica. He took it as his relief from the bs with my mom. Now here I am decades later looking for revial of this song. My dad was a great man. 7+ years ago he passed of a sudden heart attack... I played this song over and over again cuz he loved the song for a different reason, but it came clear to me. I havent given in. It still is a masterpiece which I have new eyes for thanks to thid video. Much love
Man may your father rest in peace
Metallica is the only reason why I am still alive. Someday I want to give James a big hug.
Mine too, bro. Mine too..

I listened Metallica since I was 7 years old and the lyrics it helps me to understand and overcome new problems in my life now I'm growing up and I almost 20. 'Welcome Home (Sanitarium)' by Metallica is right up your alley. You can react to that one, it's similar to this and 'One', respectively.
Up
my fav
I still listen to Fade to Black pretty much every day. It's meant so much to me.
James wrote this at a pretty dark time. Their gear had been stolen and things were just uncertain. To me this song was an optometry, doesn’t glorify suicide but recognizes it as an option, not the best one. It also helped me latter on to understand my mothers suicide. It took many year of anger but I now understand. I don’t agree of course but I understand. Whatever pain she was suffering is over now. I just wish she was here so we could go through it/ experience it together, and work through it. I’m trying, but it isn’t easy.
Metallica Master Of Puppets.. Must reaction.. True Masterpiece
that very well could be next!
@@slanzzy You could be the first to react to:
Metal Church Anthem To The Estranged.. It's about the homeless
Also they are very underrated, they have several great songs, dive into Metal Church.
One of the cornerstones of metal basically. As previously mentioned Seattle 89 live. For what I can tell, it looks like the best metal gig ever.

Master of Puppets and for your first reaction I suggest this lyric version. Enjoy it 😉😎
Listen to Orion by metallica, has no lyrics but the feelings that evokes its just amazing
Indeed a masterpiece! 🤘🏻
Agreed. Don't do a reaction to it. Just kill the lights, lay down, close your eyes and let the song take you on a journey
I cannot second this enough, this is probably the best instrumental song of all time. The emotions you get from it are... priceless.
Cliffs Masterpeace R.I.P. Brother and Master of Bass! Love to all Bassist from Bassist 🤘🏼
A couple of other great instrumental pieces are La Villa Strangiato and YYZ by Rush. The musicianship is just outstanding.
You're a bit young, my daughter's age, but here's my feedback.
I'm a US Army veteran (was in Germany when the wall fell) and combat veteran from the Gulf War. We listened to Metallica all the time after the war. I'm not into heavy metal, but the Fade to Black album spoke to me. I took many years of piano lessons when younger. It wasn't until later, and the S&M album, that I realized the band and those songs are truly musical master pieces. They bring so many pieces of my life together. Thank you for realizing the emotion impact that this band is capable of achieving.
My father is a army vet he was also there where the wall fell 396 trans co motor medic. He was in from 86-92
Yep, this song was the theme tune for my teenager years and it summed up exactly how I was thinking and feeling at the time. I'll not go into a hell of a lot of detail about those years in the mid 1980's to the early 90's but songs like this kept me going. Metal in general kept me going.
The Metallica journey isn’t complete without hearing masterpiece " ORION "
- Delirium - Call of Ktulu, anyone???
Creeping Death, an epic journey.
The Call of Ktulu
U mean king nothing
i mean theres no lyrics to react to XD
Metallica's The Unforgiven - Just as thought provoking as the last two.
Also, I never see real, genuine reactions to music (especially metal) anymore. It really is nice to see someone listening to the song for what it is and not just for what the media or society says it is. I really enjoy watching these, so thank you for putting these out there and giving the music a chance.
Demonic Sentry thank you so much for that nice comment! I'm SUPER glad you enjoy my reactions! I'm really enjoying Metallica so far.
Fuck, i forgot how beautiful this song is... Havent listened to it in like a decade :O
You need to listen to “Master of Puppets” It’s about drug addiction. And it’s great song.
It also (and principally) talks about politicians and secrets organizations
Hence the part of the song that says "chop your breakfast on a mirror"
Disposable heroes and Welcome Home (Sanatarium) are also a must.
@@juanmartinmarina1867 No, it's about drugs addiction.
Absolutely.
Metallica and metal as a genre is so incredibly good, it sucks that metal gets a negative reputation from people that think it's evil or just loud noise, from personal experience metallica has helped me a lot with depression, and I know it has helped a lot of other people too.
Clowns at school did not get this when was new! But also from 50 feet from me you would think was a rap guy . Took a bit of grief for it. Still a damn good song at 51! Was not thinking about being almost old back then!!
Good music doesnt need aproval my friend, nowadays there are a bunch of assholes, Metallica doesnt need aproval from anyone. Still good to know it has helped you with depression, beat that fucker
@@tacuazinful If knew then what I know now might have stuck with music in high school. Was way to cool for tuba! Who thought that this kind of music mix would work so well??!!
I agree wholeheartedly- in the movie 'Deathgasm,' the character Brodie says that 'It's like when life sucks, and you feel alone and empty. Stick on some metal and life is better beacuse someone else knows the pain and the rage you're going through.' Exactly that. It helps so many people. Those I know mock metal as a genre, but it's their loss.
Also one of the top 3 live shows I've ever seen, along with Pink Floyd and Garth Brooks. Yes, my tastes are diverse. :D
I guess this song brought many of us away from the edge of the abyss.
I know it did it for me.
I can remember hearing this as a kid, on cassette, as my mom rocked us out in the car. I'm 37 now, and so glad I got to experience this moment in time. RIP Mom 🤍
I reckon this song has saved more people from suicide than any other song. Period.
FACTS!
Some radiohead probably saved a good amount of people. Or made people suicidal. Either or
A Toute le Monde was a huge one for me
Goodbye to romance was my song for that I still listen to that song and think how beautiful the composition is on that track
Eh
If you like fade to black, you'll like "welcome home sanitarium" too
My D/L first favorite Metallica song
Yup that’s what I just commented 😁
my personal favorite
WELCOME HOME SANITARIUM is the TOP EXPRESSION of Metallica emotional sound as Fade to black , i love it
This should be her next endeavor
Since you asked, this song definitely got me through some dark shit. Drug abuse and disease nearly destroyed me. I was ready to give up. And when I was at my lowest, it just felt good to hear someone else say they had “simply nothing more to give”. And that common understanding was the same thing that helped me pull out of it. Funny thing is they just wrote it after someone stole their gear!
"Nothing matters, no one else" might have been part of the inspiration for the title of song Nothing else Matters. I didn't think of that until right now.
Metal stereotypes were always greatly exaggerated, especially for a band like Metallica. Their first 3 albums all contained beautiful and powerful music, some songs are gonna be more intense but they always remain very melodic and balanced. The way you appreciated the instruments in the last part of this song tells me you should react to "Metallica - Orion" , it's an instrumental, no vocals, very well crafted and balanced it captures the mind in a similar way that Fade to Black does at the end. Every reaction of that song is amazing and I feel yours would be very interesting as well.
Great reactions with an interesting perspective, keep it up!
Suggestion: "Metallica - Orion"
Hopefully she looks for the lyric video of Orion and The Call of Ktulu though hey.... ;)
That was my suggestion after One. I'm sure once our host listens to Orion it will take her to the next level. Looking forward to her reaction. If I may, I predict a complete assault on her emotions and a devoted member of the metal community. I see total victory.⌛🌹

A happy Metallica song? Good luck.
You'll enjoy "Call of Ktulu" at the end of this same album.
The S&M version is just incredible.
I think your interpretation is spot on. Imagine listening to this track at your most darkest hour. The lyrics of the songs of all of the albums will take you on the rollercoaster of their lives. You can experience with them how they matured over the years. Fade to black has been one of my favorites, but there are so many.
This song was written when soneone broke in and stole all their equipment and james was heartbroken as somebody stole his very first amp that was given by his mother and held sentimental value
And this - ladies and gentlemen - is a new member to the Metallica family.

I sit here crying watching another human being connect with this song. It's been a while since I spun this one up and it is just as powerful as ever. Plenty of us out here can relate to the feelings expressed in this song and if just one more person hears it and it opens their mind to the pain that depression brings to so many of us, I can find comfort in that.
The irony of this song is it being about ending your life but as it fades you don’t want it to ever end ……. Never give up! …. We all want to hear YOUR song ;)

The Unforgiven is a must listen. Probably the most meaningful song for James Hetfield on a personal level.
I'm glad you're listening to the original studio version of this song. I feel James' voice is totally different now, and this is absolutely the best version on earth. I just watched another reaction video of someone watching the late concert version. This is truly the most pure way to hear this particular song.

Metallica is a really great band to react too, because most of their music addresses underlying social issues and controversial topics. Not only that, but they match their music very well to the lyrical content of their songs. These guys are masters of their craft. No one really makes music quite like they do. Just subscribed! Hope to see more
Mitchell Mills thank you!! So far, I have to agree with you. It's REALLY cool to see important topics being addressed in such a creative and talented way.
“Disposable Heroes” would be a good “Next step” for you. Getting a touch heavier but deep lyrics. So many good ones lol
Definitely a deep message in this song. It’s definitely on the heavier side musically but very powerful musically and lyrically. I have seen this song, despite its fast pace and heavy sound, bring a man to tears. Give it a listen for sure.

The song speaks volumes about depression and thinking bad things about yourself ...I for one have been through a time where you think their is no way out but to come away from this earth ... But at the same time it makes you think things can be positive on the other side .... It was great to see another prospective from this song , and more importantly , hope you're safe and well . First of all, I'm happy, that you like 'em... And it is powerful to see young people enjoying them. As for the second half..."dipped my toe..." barely describes it. I've been listening to M for more than three decades, and even today I rediscover deeper meanings about their songs from the '80s (probably I'm getting older and calmer). My reaction was much the same when I first heard Fade to Black. Kids killed themselves when they heard the song, kids wrote Metallica letters about how the song saved them. People loved it. I loved it, i still do. When I hear the solo escalate, man dude. It takes me back to some pinché hard days. Each part was an emotion I felt before I tried suicide and when I hear those parts in the solo, I go through them again. At one point, the solo turns(in my mind) where you did it, and you're dying. And you're just alive enough yet to think i want to go back, I can't go back and at the end, it's too late. Goodbye. It hits me hard cause I didn't take those 3 steps though I tried three times. Fade to Black, man that song hits
I'm still here, even though my life was miserable for 16 years. I am kinda harsh on the shit but if anyone has problems out there, man. Don't do it. You can't see it, I didn't see it but you gotta keep going. There's people out there that will call into the darkness and keep talking to you till you come out. There are people out there that don't know how much more rich their lives will be with you in it. Just keep going man, people will help.
hang in there man- back in the day, this was song I listened to when I got the most depressed- and it always brought me out of my depression, in the end.
Same here, ultimate catch22. Ideal song to end it and yet so beautiful you remember there are things worth living for. Literally saved my life ! Only one drawback, I can't listen to it when driving. I always end up closing my eyes for that eargasm on the high note.
I'm tough as nails dude and this song breaks tears down my eyes. I have been there so many times. I can honestly say that Metallica has saved my life quite a few times. I have almost tasted death a couple times and Metallica has been there to pull me through it. The way they can tell a story with music notes and melodic and angry vocals is just amazing. Thanks James, Kirk,Lars, Cliff, Jason and Robert.

I was 18 years old when I first heard Fade to Black, and it was back when I had the actual record album and turntable at home. I also remember I had a Sony Walkman portable cassette player back then and I used to tape my albums and listen to them on my portable headphone player. I am now 52 years old and still love a lot of Metallica's music. I think that you would enjoy listening to "Unforgiven," from The Black Album. Enjoy
"To Live is to Die" is a great instrumental from Metallica. I personally don't like the first part of Kirk's solo but it gets better. Please listen to it. The melody is just so moving and reaches the deepest parts of the soul without lyrics. I hope you end up listening to it and enjoy.
That is my 2nd favorite Metallica song. The next one on that album is my first.
Definitely a must just badass start to finish
One of the greatest songs in the history of mankind. Of any genre. And generation. One of my favorites since I was about 10
fade to black is one of their greatest achievements
That is so cool to watch your reactions! And you get why fans love them so much. I think you are becoming a fan ;-)
Oh and on the fun side of Metallica, I would suggest their cover of "Whiskey in Jar". The song its self has a great history, but their cover was fun to listen to and the video is a bit on the wild side. ruclips.net/video/boanuwUMNNQ/видео.html it may not be a good one for your reactions, but its a fun one for fans :-)
Listen to the live in Seattle 89 it’s considered to be the best live performance of all time
THIS. Song can be felt so much better live. Having seen them twice, its an emotional ride
Moscow?? 🤔
Seattle is the only live performance of the song I will listen to
I was an 18 year old kid at that very show! It was only my second or third concert and it was awesome!
@@erickrio3069 seattle has more raw underground energy
Try "Nothing else matters", but probably you somehow heard that one even by mistake some day in the past. But i have no doubt that you will like it, and it's a little happier to 😊
My fav, such a beautiful song
Listen to Master of Puppets There’s a lot behind the words
This...100%. Not only one of their strongest messages but also incredibly well done, musically.
YES!! I was going to suggest this one as well. I think its one of their best. Pay attention to the transitions as well. Its about as close to perfection as you can get.
looking on the side of my screen of my browser and seeing that you have reacted to more metallica.. i love it. they're deep and i grew up on them. i hope you love the rest of their stuff.
This is your second video for me in the first one I noticed during the song unlike the majority of reaction videos I've seen you didn't pause it over and over again at first I thought maybe you were just really into the song and you forgot but now that I've seen 2 videos without it happening I just wanted to say it's a wonderful thing to actually get to listen to the whole song straight through, some songs has a special power and energy that gets lost when you interrupt the flow so thank you and I'm a confirmed new fan.
The Outlaw Torn (S&M Live 1999)
Not So Popular, But So EPIC !!!
❤️🔥🤘🏻
Especially, THE ORCHESTRA AND THE VOCALS...❤️😍
honestly that whole concert. Both discs.
I love no leaf clover
Very nicely done 🤘
Metallica - Master of Puppets, Orion, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Creeping Death, Halo on Fire, Fixxxer, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me (lyric videos)
Iron Maiden - "Rime of the Ancient Mariner", trust me, u'll appreciate it musically and lyrically.
And from ur end of video list, for u, this early in ur journey, NO "Little piece of heaven" for u, trust me on this. One day once u know the genre. They're a great band, but just not that song.
Good suggestions.
Fixxxer is a very good suggestion.
she can do the song... just not right away
Creeping death👌
Patrick bleeding me is phenomenal!!! Such and underrated song
And low, she came upon a creation that moved her soul and spirit and the gods of music looked down upon her and saw that it was good and from that day forth, she was blessed and enlightened to the ways of metal.
I wish I could go back to hearing Fade to black and so many others for the first time!! There's definitely too many others to name that has given me so much inspiration and the want to play guitar since i was a kid i really appreciate your reaction and understanding of this timeless classic. And also You're absolutely gorgeous!! Looking forward to more of your videos take care!!
"at this point I am thinking about how insane this solo is"... We all were slanzzy, we all were, every time
And now their greatest masterpiece: _Master of Puppets._
Ou8y2k2 yes
If there’s a song i could ever listen for the first time again it would be this one. A musical masterpiece. Made my cry multiple times
You are obviously extremely easy on the eyes. A beauty that pretty flawless.... But... I want you to know, that after watching this video, and your reaction to the song one, and how you opened your mind to give this unknown world to you, and grasped and now seeming embraced it , with a view I'm sure a lot of people didnt get at first, makes you a special one of a kind beauty. Hard to find anywhere in this world today. This isnt a flirt, it a complement. A deserved recognition well deserved. Good looking mind and soul complemented with physical perfection. Nice to see. Listen to the song sad but true. Not as many see the depth of this song cause they don't want to realize how they may resemble it. You my friend, are seemingly the opposite of the song. So you may appreciate it more.
If you would like a story with no lyrics, try the instrumental 'Orion'. You'll understand what I mean after you listen to it.
Yes! Orion is a great track! One of my personal favorites! :)
one of Cliff's master masterpieces :)
Orion is good, but I think To Live Is To Die might be better if we're going to react to epic Metallica songs
@@lifttrucklouie3565 Orion is so epic!
And if "Orion" has to be the song, then use this video, which is giving this instrumental the right context - ruclips.net/video/Z6j63ImEKyo/видео.html
Everyone keeps forgetting about "To Live is To Die" my favorite by far
I don't think anyone's forgetting about any Metallica song, I think there's just to much masterpieces to remember all at one lol
Preach. I always rewind it a couple times when it ends.
Absolutely. A song with only a few spoken words that brings forth so much energy and emotion
When I die, I having that played at my funeral.
When a man lies he murders some part of the world
These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives
All this I cannot bear to witness any longer
Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home
Your reactions are so genuine. Especially to the guitar solos. So cool!
I just subscribed, because you get the song. No smiling, apprehesively enjoying the amazing music on the surface, but you know the person it's drifting away with anguish and torment. That's what depression, real depression, is: anguish and torment. Its beyond sadness. This song says everything I feel on most days of my life. Because of your reaction to this song, I feel less alone. Thank you.
The Call of Ktulu and Orion, those are instrumental songs, but these two pieces just show that there are no need for words to evoke strong emotions. They are like a journey, taking you where you'd never imagine.
+1 from me on Orion, such an impressive piece of music
The Metallica journey isn’t complete without hearing “Master of Puppets”
Sanitarium as well, now those lyrics really rock your ass, and the instruments knock you down flat.
Absolutely. Also Battery
I would agree with this 100%
@o o mettalica can eet fuk
I would say the journey is never really complete.
the fact that you kept it playing and not pausing it, i love it! love your reactions so much!
Moved by all of this. Thanks for the open mind and heart.
Well, you got One, a song about war and Fade to Black that talks about feelings, so I think the next step would be "The Day That Never Comes" which is a mix of both concepts. Ps: Cemetery Gates by Pantera is also a great one.
Anything from Pantera is great, let's be realistic. Let's not forget Lamb of God. If your going to get into metal let's go for the best.
@@mylittlegrundle Don't forget about glam days. But yeah 90-2000 Pantera is fuckin best.
Hallowed Be Thy Name or Rime Of The Ancient Mariner by Iron Maiden would be a great next step
Preferably live versions of these
Hallowed Be Thy Name Hammersmith 1982 and Rime of the Ancient Mariner Live After Death would be ideal.
No
Nevermind, don’t listen to these. The all knowing Danjoker says no.
@@michaelwalker8100 Thank you
This is my first time watching one of your videos, and I have to say thank you for not stopping every 10 seconds like a lot of reaction videos do. This song is indeed very powerful.. I saw Metallica this summer in Buffalo.. and half way through the song, James gave a small speech.. "If you are struggling.. you are not alone.. there are people out there that will listen.. and love you.. I love you..." and then continued with the song. Hearing the original song is powerful... hearing the song live.. with the speech was phenomenal! I am 51 and it brought tears to my eyes... One of the many reasons Metallica is my favorite band. Thank you for your video.. and keep up the great work! :)
In 2000 I lost both brothers in a car accident, june 30th. The next day I heard fade to black for the very first time on the radio, I fell to my knees feeling the presents of my brothers watching me.
Now my dear, try Metallica’s Welcome Home Sanatarium.
It's only fitting. Like the sequel to fade
Agreed was gonna sanitarium it's a good sequel to fade and one
YES!
Top it off with nothing else matters
I was gonna suggest the same
James actually wrote the lyrics after some of their gear had been stolen. He was depressed and gave us this amazing song. I dealt with suicidal thoughts in high school (26 years ago), and this song actually helped. just knowing that other people felt the same way I did. I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
More Metallica you say? The Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, The entire Master of Puppets album (the album that got me into the band back in 87), The God That Failed, Creeping Death, Ride the Lightning, To Live Is To Die, For Whom The Bell Tolls and Wherever I May Roam. Enjoy.
Right there with you same time period too. This song was on repeat constantly then and it really helped get my emotions out. Helped a great deal when I lost a friend to suicide my senior year as well.
There is a moment when you realise what the pain has made of you.
In hiding, curled in on yourself, unable to show the world your face.
Acting on instinct, lashing out, even at those closest to you.
Time has passed, and time is a thief. It has stolen your memories-the agony has faded, but so has every precious moment of joy.
You have been hollowed out from the inside and there's nothing left of the person you used to be.
But you try. You try to remember how to smile. You try to remember how to love.
And one day you crawl out from your hiding place and step back into the world.
And then, every day, you do what you must to survive.
