I use a combo of missiles and flechettes to take down occupied bases (I've been doing a lot of post-Thargoid base restarts). The trick with flechettes is aiming a little above and just a little behind your targets. Also, using the flechettes in pairs works better than a single. Missiles are the preferred weapons of use, but the flechette will do a better job of clearing out troops / pirates / scavengers that are using buildings or ground items as cover (military bases tend to have a lot of areas that provide cover, IMHO). My preferred ships to use in ground assaults are the Asp Explorer, Chieftain or either Krait.
Haha yeah, seen a few vids on mines. I like the higher skill needed, even if they are still OP for this kind of thing! Now I wonder if shock mines would send NPCs flying?!

Try guardian shards.. lol..
Just dumb fire missiles worked well for me.
Agreed. I would conclude that although flak looks better, dumb fires are very effective, cheap, & available to all with zero grind.
nice going cmdr! but u forgot mines. if u interested in how one might use mines I got some videos u might find fun, o7 cmdr.
