Thai street food is everywhere in Thailand. It’s cheap and it is really delicious! This was a fair my family and I visited on the Tapi River in Surat Thani. Surat Thani สุราษฎร์ธานี is one of the largest cities in the south of Thailand. At fairs like this all the food is cooked fresh as the vendors sell it, and as I mentioned, it is delicious! Thai street food is some of my favourite Thai cuisine, and there is so much variety of street food in Thailand!

Thai cuisine and street food in Thailand has taken influences from many other styles of Asian cooking, including Chinese food. You’ll find Thai street food on many street corners in Thailand, as well as at every market, be it in Surat Thani, Krabi, Phuket, Bangkok or Pattaya. Thai fairs and food markets are some of the best places to buy fresh and authentic Thai food while you travel in Thailand. There are loads of Thai food markets and night market all over Thailand, you’re never far from one. At the markets you'll find so many Thai dishes on offer and the foods here are cheap, and so tasty! And in case you’re worried, eating Thai street food is perfectly safe. It’s what the locals eat and it is cooked fresh and sold quickly. I’ve been eating it nearly daily in Thailand since 2012 and my friends who have been to visit and tour Thailand have all eaten it, and none of us have had any problems. Thai street food is some of the best Thai cuisine you’ll find in Thailand!

There is a lot of Covid here in Krabi where we live, and in Thailand in general. Additionally Aorn and I have been both very busy with our jobs for a number of months now.

Been missing your videos
Thanks. Unfortunately Thailand is in what is really its first wave of Covid, so we haven't been out and about making videos. 2 and a half months ago, on April 1, Thailand had had less than 30,000 Covid cases since the pandemic began. As of now Thailand has had over 221,000 cases and the numbers don't seem to be declining.
Restaurants were closed for some weeks and now there are restrictions on dining in, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand. There will be more videos coming when the situation improves.

Are there good Thai restaurants with good interior design? I have no doubt the food in Surat Thani is all tasty but what about the eating environment? I’m just curious about that area of Surat Thani. Thank you Darren, I have been enjoying watching your videos.
Yes, you will usually find restaurants of all descriptions in most parts of Thailand, including Surat Thani. We did an eating tour video in Surat Thani recently and the 2 last restaurants (Kampan and Lucky Restaurant) had very nice interiors, Kampan especially: ruclips.net/video/NV4mdtS0bzM/видео.html

To be honest I pay very little attention to the environment when looking for restaurants - I'm there to find the best food 😋, and I have found in the past that the restaurants who put all their attention into the environment often do not have the best food.

What''s going on around Thailand really depends on the exact region. Unfortunately there is a lot of Covid here in Krabi where we live, and it's the same in most of the south of Thailand. Many people I know have had Covid here now and someone I knew died from Covid here recently.
Restaurants have had restrictions on dining in for some time (those are gradually easing now), many vendors are not going to the markets, many markets are gone completely, and there are also added restrictions for travel within Thailand.
We plan to be making more videos when it is safe for us to do so and our schedules allow.

@@darrenb3 here in the philippines had very bad cases of covid 19 many variant to many restrictions you can't not go to point a to point b you must coordinate first government and police because if you don't very heavy penalty or worse jail time not like before pandemic you can go what ever you wish this pandemic really take a toll over the world problem

Hi Chuck, I came to Thailand and loved it. After my second trip here I decided to move here, so I got the necessary qualifications to become a teacher here (a degree and a TESOL/TEFL certificate), and then I moved here.
And in Germany is lockdown 😂

Tourists have been able to come to Thailand since October 2020.
Contact the Thai embassy in your country and they will give you all the details.

Bro why do you put the price for things in US dollar when your an Aussie you should be showing the converted price to Aussie dollar
Most of my views come from the USA and the US dollar is about as close to an international currency as the world has, that's why I include prices in $US. Unfortunately I don't get that many views from Australia, I get more from Malaysia, India, Singapore and the UK and I also get requests to put prices in the currencies of all of those countries. If I were to include all of them it would take me hours and my videos would have a lot more text than I want, so at this stage, unfortunately it isn't going to happen.

In some cultures the bride provides the groom's family with what is known as a "dowry", "bride price" is when it goes the other way.

Hahaha. I filmed that couple for a number of minutes and having seen her without lens distortion I'm quite satisfied that the person in question is definitely a woman, as is Aorn. Additionally there was a fair near where we live, in Krabi Town, from the 22nd to the 29th of March and the same couple were at that fair too selling those sticks, with 2 children. But up to you 😏
