So I spotted something today while watching "the daleks". First doctor says in the episode "fear makes companions out of us."
IN this episode Clara says to the young doctor "fear makes companions of us all." :-O

The toy soldier that was left, it was unarmed didn't have a gun, the Dr grows up with the belief that you don't need weapons to be strong and fight evil. Would have loved to have seen a reaction of Dark Water from you ...
Yes, the Doctor grew up knowing that he would never use a gun on a living being, and carried that belief throughout all his lives.
Except Ogrons, Cybermen, Daleks, Time Lords, Sontarans, giant Rats, and Davros. Yeah, the Doctor isn't above using a gun when the situation calls for it, just check out all the Cybermen he kills in 'Attack of the Cybermen' :D
At least it's better than the 2nd Doctor in the now non-canonical comic strips from the 60's. One has the Doctor land on a planet with the sole purpose of testing his new laser gun. Immediately after exiting the TARDIS, he finds a giant spider, and brutally murders the creature in an unprovoked attack, screaming "Die, hideous creature, die!". Yes, really. And while the Tenth Doctor felt sorry for the way he had to kill the Cybermen in 'Age of Steel', the Second Doctor in the comic strips just blasted away at them with a sub-machine gun! And that's if the Cybermen were lucky! In one strip, he brutally tears out the tubes of a Cyberman, leaving the Mondasian to die a painful, slow death as it's liquids and biological matter froths out of it. The Doctor says, "No time for mercy!".
But still, the Doctor hardly ever needs a gun to save the day :)

This show has given me so many reasons to be afraid of the dark: Weeping Angels, the Vashta Nerada and now this. I love this show, but it screws with my mind.

I re-watched this episode a couple of times (taking the advice of the title) and I'm TOTALLY convinced that we're going to be coming back to this, I have this massive suspicion that nothing in this episode is what we think it is.
...Oh yeah, and the bit with the evaporating cup mark on the table? That's a shout-out to Andrei Tarkovsky's 'Mirror.'
The look on your faces when he said "Time Lord" was brilliant!
I think there is a fan theory where the doctor is crying because he had just seen the untempered time schism. 10 stated that he ran away from it while the master just stared into it. so he runs away to the barn and cries. Probably more complex than that, but I just like to think of it that way.
Clara gets a double wammy of I'm on Gallifrey and this is the Doctor as a little boy and I'm the one that everybody's so afraid of when they are kids! It all starts when I grab the young Doctor's leg and kicks off the Doctor's life with an inspirational speech that will lead the Doctor to do so many amazing things!
The implications of this one event are almost too much to think about.

it makes no sense for the rest of the people in the universe to be afraid of her hand under the bed, the whole episode makes no sense, it seems like the writer forgot the previous pages while inventing new situations.
clara made the doctor afraid, that's where his paranoia comes from, but, she's not under everybody else's bed, also, there was a real thing under the blanket.
the creatures exist in spite of the doctor's fear and paranoia.

Everyone has that dream, because he put that in Clara's head earlier in the episode, that was how Clara reacted, by making his version come true.....what she did was turn his version of that dream into the Doctor becoming a TimeLord and being the Doctor, his personal experience is not the root of the fear for everyone else, what Clara was able to do was turn his fear (that actually happened) into his greatest strength.....he would still think it was a dream like everyone else....
lvis11tj7 but why do everybody else have the dream?, I don't get it, it makes no sense. he has the dream because she was actually there grabbing his leg, but she wasn't under the bed of the rest of the people in the world.
And P.S. What if the boy in the bed isn't who we think it is. What if, at some point, Missy produces the toy soldier?

When I watched this episode for the first time, and I found out the little boy was the Doctor, I literately screamed.
Shame, the Dark Water reaction is really one of those that has to be seen to be believed, just to see if you'll either react with a calm demeanor or just completely freak out. Oh well.
I did not freak out. It was more of a "saw it coming" reaction :p

My reaction was basically "aw, I had hoped she was someone new and exiting". Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to see the master in action again though!

+DonnaRae Brown michelle gomez wouldn't play the rani well that just isn't her, the rani is more sophisticated and more straight forward michelle played a character more all over the place and rarely gets to the point but instead takes an adventure
When you two lean your heads against each other, completely captured by what you're watching, it is so adorable. Lots of people put out reaction videos to Doctor Who, but your videos are the best. You have charm, wit and vodka. Would love to know what you thought of the rest of series. When you get back together, do a video of what you thought of the rest of the episodes that you didn't get a chance to react to. Bless you both.

Capaldi's delivery of the comedy lines is perfect. So hard to get good jokes in SF. Strax gets in a few good observations/insult/jokes in Deep Breath, too.

Once again great to see your reactions, pretty sure they were echoed throughout the fandom. Although, there are some fans who did not enjoy this episode, I must say, like you, I did. Trying to work out the progression of that toy-soldier, can give you a headache.
I thought, the menace on the bed could have been a "Grask", an alien that turned up when D.T. was composing music, at the proms. Mischievous & fast moving, the right height when it stood up. What do you think, Amy & Mary ?? :)

i only watch these for ur reactions, in real life I watch them 4-9 hours a day and I know the words and wat happens in every episodes, its just fun to watch.
Wonderful to see you ladies again, & as always a great reaction video. And I think we all understand the situation of having to wait till Christmas for more WHO reactions, but you don't get off that easy. We expect the remaining 8 episodes to be reacted to when on holiday; no wasting time visiting with family. The WHO community expects this, & you only have yourselves to blame for making such good reactions. Seriously, take care, work hard at university, and see you again during Santa's time ...

I just realized: Did anyone else notice, that the Doctor was so desperate, to finally overcome his deepest fear, when he visited the point in time of the end of the universe. And then, immediately afterwards, they visited that point in time, where Clara could "plant the seed" for that overcoming in the little Doctors head? I just thought, those two times and places were visited very closely to one another!...
I hope you guys get to do the rest of this series. I would love to see you guys react to deep water and the last episode!

Its just dawned on me, leaving that toy soldier - it wasn't clara that was pregnant not the great great grandparent - the time traveler running in the family, its not clara - its Susan

I think you missed the whole point of what happened......Clara and the young Doctor had nothing to do with his fear....everyone has that dream, wach one is different the importance of Clara and young Doctor was to make him who he was, she gave him his mission, she made him face his fears by realizing that it would always be his true Companion, she gave him the ability to give the speech to Rupert Pink about being scared, she gave him by leaving and hearing the TARDIS noise the will to become a TimeLord......Her introduction into his timeline, helped shape who he became. The monster on the bad was the question, he left unanswered, which could be a metaphore for his greatest fear...."not knowing".....this was Moffat and his dual level theory set, his which came first the chicken or the egg......

The war doctor is arguably my favorite one.
At first I thought that the time lord in the shed... after it said the army... I thought it meant the Master... which would have lead well into Missy's reveal.

Great that you did a reaction to this episode as its one of the best of the season but just to restate what others have said, you really have to do a reaction to Dark Water / Death in Heaven, even if you have to bend time and space to do it.

That's a pretty cool reaction video, mostly the childhood 's Doctor. It's a pity that you can not react on the next episodes, like Dark Water, Kill the Moon or Mummy on the Orient Express, but I think you have your reasons. :(
