🇬🇧 Riding Western Scottish Leyland National 2 SHH 389X

Performing free bus services at the Leyland National 51 event in Whitehaven was this Leyland National Mk2 from the Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust. Whilst this bus was originally new to Cumberland as their 389, it has been restored and painted in the livery of Western Scottish to represent this vehicle type from that fleet. Jump onboard with me as we make our way from Whitehaven to the former Leyland Bus factory at Workington. This was a most enjoyable trip as this National Mk2 was driven rather spiritedly!

MK2 my favourite bus as a child though I always preferred the semi auto to the full auto as it allowed the drivers to have more sympathetic gear changes.
