I've owned my 2022 Trident 660 since 2022. No issues whatsoever with it. I am 6'1 and have no issues riding it. Taller people just need to be aware of tank flaring when fitting a bike. A ton of sportier models have the gas tank flare out over top of the knees, and if you have long legs like me, your knees will hit the tank as you shift. Since the Trident doesn't have a gas tank like this, I have 0 issues shifting and riding it.
I love your channel and your enthusiasm! You seem to have the same passion for motorcycles that I have. I live in So Cal and have been riding street bikes for over 38 years and am now on my 15th street bike. I have owned a 660 and I currently have a Duke 790. I will have to argue a few points on both bikes. The 660 has a weird powerband under 6,000 rpm and you have to ride it hard to get the love it wants to give. Sixth gear is like some weird overdrive and is useless. I am 5'11" and 185lbs and I could ride that thing all day. Many times, I put 300 miles on it in a day and found it absolutely comfortable. My 790 seems not slow but under powered at high speeds (could be that I have also owned many 1000cc bikes) not scary at all. It seems tame to me even in sport mode. It is a hooligan for sure. The tires are ok not great, but I have no problem keeping up with bike with better tires. I will change them, but they are good enough. I got mine new for $6,899 so for the money I think it is outstanding. Steel braided brake lines, steering stabilizer and 45 deg valve stems. Far such a cheap bike I like it way more than my 660. The suspension is non-adjustable but set up well. I would pick the 790 over the 660 any time.
Thanks for the kind words. What I have realized over the years is that comfort and fun-factor are quite personal. I’ve ridden sportbikes all my life & a lot of people think those are uncomfortable. Naked bikes being more comfortable is the general consensus. For me, that couldn’t be further away from the truth. I have a Yamaha XSR900 for my street bike and even with an aftermarket windshield, I still find it way more uncomfortable riding at ‘fun’ speeds than all the other sportbikes I’ve ever owned. And it is a hoon just like the 790. Now do I find it overwhelming? Not really, I race a 130hp supersport here on the east coast so the mid-segment naked are a way for me to relax. But the way the XSR & the 790 deliver power and the spot where they’re fun to ride, it starts to get sketchy both in terms of legality and safety. And I don’t like compromising on either. There are tons of people who are massive fans of the MT09 (same engine as the xsr900) & the 790 and that’s cool too. At the end the of day, there is no right or wrong answer, it’s just what rocks your boat! But to your point, I think I should probably mention in my videos that every thing I say about ‘how it feels to ride’ is based on my personal preference and may not apply universally. Thanks again for sharing your experience, I really appreciate it, that is the idea of the channel to let riders share their experience with each other.
Had a new Trident 660… problems from day one, the ignition wouldn’t recognize the key and it would me leave stranded for hours 50 miles away from home…. I would have to turn the key off and on like 1000 times before it would grant me with contact lights…. Road assistance 0, I would spend hours on the phone with them answering stupid questions 100x while turning my key on and off in order to try to get back home. The bike was 3x in dealership for a couple of days, third time they finally changed antenna on the ignition assembly. Traded in the bike immediately after they “repaired “ it on the third attempt. The bike looked cute, plenty of power, great riding experience BUT TRIUMPH Never ever again!!! PS Great video man!
Might pick up a Trident today, was thinking about Trident MT07 and CB650R. Finally came down to price or I probably would have picked the Honda CB, even though its not in this video.
Congrats! I’ve owned the CBR (2 yrs, 20k), you’d enjoy the Trident more. They’re both good bikes but the Triple strikes a better torque/power balance for everyday riding.
I own the Trident 660. It's a great bike for commuting to work or riding around town. Plenty of power to keep you engaged, but not too crazy so you don't have to worry about getting into trouble.

not sure what cfmoto has against traction control lol. isn't it pretty basic tech now? 800NK is such a gorgeous bike, so much tech like cruise control and quickshifter, but no TC? it's the same with the 700CL-X Sport. also a gorgeous bike but again no TC.
Yeah I found that weird too. Although, on a 100hp motorcycle, one would rarely miss having it except in wet conditions or exceptionally slippery conditions like gravel or sand on the road etc. For wet, one could keep it in rain mode but in general, you’re on your own for exceptional scenarios and that’s a shortcoming. Especially when even lower segment bikes have it now.
To be fair it tried it on the rain and didn’t felt the need of tc, where my monster 937 does need it (but with rosso 3). Sooo its kinda pointless and make spare a few bucks

I had exactly the same reaction when I found out. No official reason from Honda USA yet. Funny thing is, Transalp that’s on the same platform is here and I did get to test ride it and really liked that engine. Sometimes Honda likes to slap the USA in the face. The new CBR600RR has been around in some markets since 2021, it just hit Europe this year but US still doesn’t have it.

@@RiderXp yeah it rains often where i live so TC could come in handy. indeed, the 450 SR/NK which are much cheaper come with TC.
