Hi! I'm so sorry for late reply, We've been on travel alot to places where there not much of stable internet. Right now we are in Nigeria, and with the powercut we got to be productive and smart with how we use the time we have when the power is on. It kind of have a charm to it! We will cover this on our upcoming videos. We so happy you liking the videos. Mexico is an amazing country with so many different cultures and vibes. Make sure you get away from the touristic parts of the places you go to. :)
We used the Uber really comfortably and almost all spoke some English, but we did our best with Portuguese and Spanish :)
I took the Uber once alone and and a female traveling alone, I felt fine, safe, to be honest, safer than my experience I had in LONDON. I got in a taxi, and the guy was giving me some really weird vibes, as a female traveler, I have learned to trust my instincts alot, and I made the taxi driver Stop at the tower bridge and let me out.
-I feel that Mexico in general is a Safe country for female travel - but all countries have their risk, Never did I feel uneasy walking in Mexico.
You always got to be street wise, and make sure you don't put yourself in situations that you don't feel comfortable.
About the tension with Uber and Taxi drivers that happens in every country we go to, in our city in UK Uber driver is not allowed at all! They council want to preserve the culture of black cab. Don't let hesitations, fears set your back. I meet many female solo travelers when we were traveling through Central America :) If you want any more helpful tips and advise from a solo female traveler, (I did alot of them before Kings and I meet) send me a Hi :)

so uber was reliable for you? did you use it often?

Oh yes it was very reliable, we used it a few times, but whilst out it was super easy to flag down a local taxi because there were so many of those about. Otherwise Uber it is.
