    The incomplete system was provided by Russia. RUclips will not allow me post the link in my comment but look up the following article, published by Večernji List, “Novi ruski pritisak na Hrvatsku: Isporučili smo vam S-300, gdje su nestale rakete?”
    The article also lists all the weapons Russia sold to Croatia during the Domvanski Rat. Russia practically armed Croatias entire Air Force, which is great because Serbs always boast about their brotherly relationship with Russia 😂..

    Though Croatia was nominally under sanctions, in reality it wasn't the case. That got a lot of western equipment, plus some eastern by origin.
    For example, it was known then that 2 pilots defected to Croatia in their MiG-21s. Later, one was shot down. So, Croatia should have had only one, right? But during a military parade or exibition back in the day, suddenly there were scores of 21s. How? They were transported to Croatia from former Easter Germany arsenal, despite the sanctions...
    The S-300 story is 100% true, though. They never got the radars.

      It's just a lie Croatia did not have weapons, they had multiple M-84 tanks which were best tanks in Yugoslavia. Also JNA did not exist after 1992, Serbia after 1994 drop supporting off rebels in Croatia so they stay out weapons. Also Serb fighters like mig 29 were never used after 1992 in Croatia. After 1992 there was no Serbian military in Croatia but paramilitary which fill their ranks with volunteers which were mostly people in 40s and 50s

    Whatever the case was, I don't think Russia directly sent them the S-300, whether it was the whole system and they just didn't show it all, or whether they had just received certain components of the system. Most likely that arrived from the stockpiles of former East Germany or any of the former Soviet satellite states.
    At any event, given that Germany was already united at the time and a NATO member while those former Soviet satellites such as Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic...etc. were in the process of being admitted to NATO, the US didn't need this Croatian S-300. It already had full access to it.
    Btw...I might be wrong but I think they've shown more than just launchers for the S-300 system. At 2:18 and 2:23 you can see the S-300 missile.
    I did a quick google search and all I could find was the status of the Croatiam S-300 being classified...so who knows what machinations went on around that particular event.
    What is certain, 30 years ago that system was one of the best in the world and if nothing else, it had achieved the propaganda purpose, mainly by keeping Serbia from trying to help the only way they could - with its air force.

      @@ConflictReporter_ it has one of the poorest hit rates of all air defence systems. It isn't without reason that Israel at this moment decided replacing it. And also Saudi Arabia replaces its system.

    • @samfkt
      @samfkt 5 месяцев назад

      @@tankeriv I wouldnt say it sucks..... Ukrainians for example destroyed multiple S300 and even S400 (and that BEFORE any ATACMS). So what does suck more? To not able to protect itself or its surroundings or not a good hit rate/not the best precision? Depends on your view. So you are implying that Russians dont hit/never hit civilian objects? Dude, cmon...... they demolish the entire cities, even random videos which shows tanks hitting windows on appartment buildings and similar, and there were some of the video footage analysis including geolocations etc. (which proves it came from the east, not west). Sure, recently they dont do it anymore or to be precise, not as much as they used to do in the first 1 - 1.5 year or so of war but one of the reasons for it is probably because there are not as much towns currently in front of them, mostly some small to very small villages and non existent ones lol which means basically only: "land", surely they dont do it as much as Israel is doing it currently (before the current "pause" before they start advancing again in Rafah direction) but cmon.......
