Gods, do I love the cornetto - if I had my life to do over again I'd devote it to the mastery of that wonderful instrument. And l'Arpeggiata is my favourite ensemble ever - I love everything they've recorded. I first discovered them on a Qantas flight from Australia to Europe - listened to Tarantellas all night on repeat while dozing in my seat. Thankfully the same music program was playing on my way back so I could find out who made that wonderful haunting music that I couldn't forget.
The first time i have seen Arpeggiata was in Hannover with a concert of Purcells Dido and Aeneas. Gorgeous and terrific. I also fell in love to the Zink (the german term for the Cornetto) and the artful play and decent, lovely humor of Doron Sherwin. Then i and my wife had been at the debut concert of Wonder Woman in Essen and i was enchanted again. A terriffic ensemble, incredibly kind and artful musicians / singers. It feels good that there are people literally around the world loving early music and modern ensembles that show so much joy in their highly individual interpretations. Pluhar is adorable and has to be also a magnificent human as she is able to keep such wonderfuil musicians together for so many years. I bow my head in respect and love.

Meridione italiano, ex Magna Grecia. Intesa come area geografica. Come periodo è un po' più ampio e per lo più successivo, fino a tutto il dominio spagnolo e infatti ci sono almeno tre brani che ritengo esserlo, spagnoli.
Interessante il tentativo di portare la musica popolare di tradizione orale fuori dai circuiti del popolare appunto, ovviamente il modo di cantare di tradizione orale è totalmente diverso. Per chi è interessato, seguire il lavoro che fece Giovanna Marini con il coro di musica popolare di Testaccio, l'etnomusicologo Gianni Bosio, il centro Ernesto de Martino di Firenze che ha molte registrazioni di canti originali.

Au début de la représentation, elle effectue *la danse du poulet fou* tout à fait disgracieux surtout pour une femme. Je n'ai aimé aucune de ses interventions ; d'autres personnes apprécient, heureusement que nous n'avons pas tous les mêmes goûts 😊

I love what Christina Pluhar et L'Arpegiatta do. Their musicality and their pieces' choices are exceptional.
