Thank you! Thank you. After endless research, you have finally explained to me, in minutes, how I share my Canva slides (with notes), on Zoom. I have tried downloading to Google one drive, Microsoft one drive, only to realise (via your video) that all I needed to do was to click desktop one and then go into Canva. I was almost losing the will to live until I just came across your video😀

Just discovered this, have been using Zoom for individual client meetings but tomorrow (!) I am the host for an online team meeting.. I feel much more confident now.
Incidentally the situation where you want an audio in background and screen sharing text happens a lot with online church services where people want to sing together. Warning, participants need to mute themselves otherwise the various lag times make a cacophony.

Great guidance on the screen sharing aspect. You asked what I'd like to see; Screen sharing with PowerPoint AND multiple monitors. I get myself into a heck of a tangle and am sure there's easier ways to do it. Sure, there are other YTs on the topic, but you have a great instructional style, so I'd like to hear your take on it.

Hello from Florida in the US where I do university teacher training courses for future teachers of English as a second language. MANY THANKS for an outstanding video in terms of both content and delivery. You stayed on topic, you didn't explain things super fast to make the info fit within the time length of your video, and the content is excellent. Your video was the first where I've seen anyone explain how to use an iPad on Zoom. (Yes, I'm sure this is a basic skill to some teachers, but it's not for many, so THANKS!) I also really liked your explanation of how you could use a second camera, and your example of the cooking demo was spot on. Well done, Tim!

That was an excellent overview. What I need to know is how to share PPT - stop sharing, talk for a while and bring PPT back up for next slide. I thought pause would do that but it doesn't.
BTW - I use music in the background for meditation, contemplation workshops. It is also useful if you've sent people away for an exercise, they can here when the music stops, it is time to return the screen/group.

I don't want to turn my face to read my material, so how do you do it? I know I can stop screen sharing and just show the powerpoint, but want to use the powerpoint while explaining the material. I have watched 5 videos specific to video screen sharing and no one seems to be covering one of the most important features. If you upload your video to google drive/ etc, you can share that file as a video that plays straight off youtube (google drive) to the audience. Doing it this way is bypassing the need to be utilizing your computer resources to upload the video to the web as you are playing it.
So for instance, if you are presenting video for something like training, sharing the file through google drive makes the connection speed of the audience the limiting factor (outside of google servers).
Contrary, if you present a video that is on your desktop here are the factors that limit how well/smooth the video plays.
Limit 1- your CPU on your computer, if it gets bogged down with all of the windows open plus a playing video, what happens? MAJOR LAG or PROGRAM SHUTS DOWN
Limit 2- Your upload speed or bandwidth, upload speeds are in most cases slower than download speeds. If you can't upload it as fast as it plays- MAJOR LAG.
Limit 3- Quality- when sharing your actual screen the quality of the image is diminished before you hit the limits of upload speed.- LOW QUALITY
Limit 4- the other 14 things i don't have time to write about.

Loved this video. Brand new to Zoom. Using on iPad and Chromebook. I’m going to do a Pub Quiz Night on Zoom and a friend suggested I create a Google doc with the questions for each round and then share screen for each round. I like that idea and here is my question. Can you share a doc and appear on screen as well or at least be talking in the background? It feels like it would be boring just throwing the quiz questions on screen with no interaction.

Hi Tim. Great video. I'm looking to do some screen sharing. I'm in a club that has started to do this sort of thing and some members haven't got their settings sorted before going 'live'. Eg., their sound is off or their video is running but the screen is not shared. I'm using your video to, hopefully, set my desktop up so that my host sessions go well, with a bit of luck, straight away.

I was zeroing in on the Shared Screen settings you covered, thinking it would solve my dilemma, but it didn't. I am recording a few Zoom sessions that I am facilitating for choir directors and choir members. When the presenter (who I made co-host) has me do the sharing of her files (files on my desktop, that is), what I see on my screen is similar to your display at 4.20 minutes. i.e. The shared file is large and the speaker is in a small box in the upper righthand corner. In contrast, when a different presenter shared her own files, I was able to slide the vertical line between the shared file and the Speaker (in Speaker view, not Gallery) to the left, so that the speaker could occupy more of the screen (e.g. when it was important for people who watch the recording to see how to properly breathe, posture, etc. ). When I shared the files for the other presenter, I could not do that. Thus, people watching the recording saw a shared file large, but could not really see what the speaker was doing because the box was small. I tried the options you advised at 11.06 (Side-by-side mode and Maximize Zoom window when a participant shares screen). This enabled me to make the speaker's box larger (but with limitations on size), but the recording itself still had the speaker in a small box. Is there any way for a Zoom host who is sharing a file to be able to have the flexibility of sizing the Speaker's box larger and file smaller that will be seen the same way in the resultant recording? OR must the presenter (Speaker) share their own files in order for me, the person doing the recording, to be able to have that flexibility? The reason the 2nd presenter wanted me to share her files instead of her was because she was playing the piano and had her computer resting on it ... was too difficult to handle sharing files at the same time. ) Is there a solution for this situation? Thanks.

You work for 40yrs to have $1M in your retirement, meanwhile, some people are putting just $10K in a meme coin from just a few months ago, and now they are multimillionaires.
