- The Black K Korean Bow by Kaya in Korea. Martin Spoerri from www.combatarchery.ch sent me one, as Kaya does not see the need for it :)
What an incredible bow. Just 46” but draws without end :) the 40# feel like nothing. With the provided arrows (8.3gpp) you get already a good speed, but you could go way lower with arrow weight.
Thank you Martin for sending this bow and all the other stuff to me. The white arrows sound great.

Great Review from the Master. Thank you
thanks I just did not make clear enough that the bow is not made in Switzerland :D
@@ArminHirmer No Problem ;)
@@ArminHirmer Lol! You did - at least I have heard it 😄
Thank you for the very nice review, Armin (looks, as if your shoulder is better 👍)!
@@agamagreen depends :) one day so, the other so :D
@@ArminHirmer Get well, soon!
My shoulder topic has happened 1 year ago and is still not free of pain, but it’s ok as long as I can shoot 🤪
I own this badboy with the same values: 46" 40#. I can draw it all day :)
The bow is light, fast and quiet. It puches 218fps with 31" 400 spine 360 grains arrows.
Simple, extreme efficent and all black...
Kaya black cat vs daylite monarq…any suggestions?
Starting to love Korean bows - of all the traditional short bows they seem to have the maximum working limbs. And max long arrow-string contact due to the short bracehight.
If I’m not mistaken. Korea has trade rights or Monopoly on bow making. Even American bows or Korean in design and class. Some knock offs. But that’s the Asian Cash crop. Saalute. Love this channel Sir AH class act!
@@ShaunFace where is your sources of the Monopoly on bow making? I figured for their own design maybe but not all bows
@@ShaunFace I don’t believe we have any monopoly on bow making, never heard of it. Perhaps you meant to say that we have our own traditional bow design? - if this is indeed what you meant, it’s nothing too special; granted, ‘korean traditional bow’ established itself as one of prominent designs used by traditional asian archery worldwide, but same could be said to Japanese, Chinese, Turkish, Indians, Hungarians and so on, each with their distinguished history and traits. Surely they are all unique, but none of them are ‘best’ so to say
@@solhoibaturu indeed and the "best bow" varies on what type of shooting your culture did. Like nothing compares to a manchu bow in throwing heavy arrows but it cannot throw light arrows any distance so for Turks or Tatars that would be a negative
I've just got mine and I'm shooting it everyday now. So sorry to my old Turkish bow 😊
Man, I really love this bow. Great review, Armin! Another bow added to the wish list. So cool.
Get one! It is fantastic.
I only shoot it mediterrane but it works great.
@@tonymeyer5260 I absolutely want to get one. $ is tight! Someday;)
Because of this review, I bought the Bow three weeks ago: 50" 45#. The bow is fast, lighter and silence when shooting. It is simple but nice..
Kaya black cat vs monarq …any suggestions
Finally, my most favourite bow 😊
Nice looking snappy bow. Looks promising from Switzerland.
Great review as always, red is your color Armin.
Its Victorinox Red ;) yes he looks awesome in that dress.
Very nice bow and shooting! My favorite part of your videos is watching you shoot at the hay bales.
Hehe I have that tan too, so white nearly translucent😂
This bow with that metallic paint is so 🔥 🔥!! I would love that bow in dark green metallic paint, like my first bicycle, those white whistling arrows with matching green bands. 😮😮Exciting just to picture that!!
Thank you Armin, such a colorful review, made my morning...hope the shoulder is less cranky.
thanks, some days are better and some are just awesome :D but the shoulder is still cranky :D
@@ArminHirmer I hear ya, So the lesson is I have a body but am not my body. Ja?
Awesome bow, and one of your previous guests, Mack, sells these bows in the USA.
Does he sell the arrows too? Can you send me a link?
From the late period of the Mongol Empire, there are several old historical records that show that Koreans laughed at the Manchurian bows when they captured them and test fired them. Koreans described the Manchurian bows as big, heavy, crude, and inferior, slow to shoot, and short flight distance. As for the Mongol bows, Koreans did not laugh at them because they were good, but there are Mongol and Chinese historical records that show that even Mongols preferred the Korean bows because of their compact design, easier handling, faster draw, and further shooting distance, pound for pound. Since the Korean, Mongol, and Manchu bows were the best in the world at that time, Mongols respecting and preferring Korean bows says a lot about the traditional Korean bow design. In the final battle that took place between Korean Kingdom and the Mongol Yuan Empire, the Mongols sent their best archers with an intention to crush the Korean rebellion, but they were destroyed by the Korean archers. One such Korean master archer was General Lee Sung Kye (the best archer of Korea at that time) who famously shot the Mongol general down. Soon the Mongol Empire collapsed and General Lee Sung Kye founded the Josun Dynasty of Korea which lasted over 500 years until 1910. King Lee Sung Kye is my mother's direct ancestor. My mother comes from the family of the Prince Lee Hyo Ryung, the grandson of King Lee Sung Kye. We Koreans still have our family books that date back over 1500 years and we can trace all our ancestors.
Hi, you have inspired me and now I own a Black K 46" #45 and it's such a nice bow😁 you completely right. Compared with my Bearpaw hero in #34....
ok it's not comparebl, take down with horse bow 😅
But i like the Kaya more because it's lighter, silenter and smaller. Thanks for your explanation!
Really like the long draw... And how it's a nice draw
I have a humbly request. I'm curious about how the efficiency increase with arrow mass and at which point the efficiency plateaus. If one would, lets say, shoot 10-20GPP arrows with a Manchu bow and calculate the efficiency with a force draw curve. It's some extra work with a force draw curve, but I can help with that, even if the numbers are only read out loud through the video, I can write them down and send the graphs and calculations of the efficiency to you.
once I have my proper scale, I will be doing more of that
@@ArminHirmer Looking forward to it :)
I saw the thumbnail I thought, Who is tha....oooh 😂
Nice bow, for sure
😂
Geiler Bogen anyway!

I bet Switzerland has some awesome top quality makers... Maybe
Its from Korea. We just import.

Love these Korean bows!
So, because you have try so many of korean bow. Which one do you choose between Kaya and Nomad (Freddie)? If it will be your daily bow for practice. Thank in advice.
Hard to say, I quite like a few of them
Looks similar to my Nomad Black Shadow. The arrows look quite unstable in flight. HNY Armin.
Need a bit Sydekhatra. And maybe Spine 500 is to stiff. I will send him 600 soon.

Greetings Master Armin! Ive learned so much from watching your tutorials and bow reviews. I would really appreciate it if you could give me your take on the kaya black k in comparison to Freddie Archery Black Flash Blue. I remembered you really enjoyed the Black Flash just a bit more than the Monarq cause it seemed like it brought out the beast in you. Lol. Is the Kaya Black K even better than both the Monarq and/or the Black Flash Blue? FYI, I already own the Skywalk, Monarq, and the Majesty but the Black Flash and the Black K are so awesome in your hands. Thanks in advance and Godbless you.
At the moment the black k is my favorite
@@SuperBigsupa yeah I read the same, usually this length goes up to max 31" but this bow seems quite capable of course you will have quite some stacking
Hi …I am confused between the kaya black cat and daylite monarq which one would you recommend??
Ein richtig schicker🏹 Bogen 🇨🇭 hab auch ein
Own this 60lb@31.
6gpp 235+-
9gpp 200fps
Bow is silent. If you the guy of type like the sound for satisfication like car guy, pistol guy. This bow is not for you.
And yup need torque because arrow pass 26mm too wide. Otherwise it will wobble on short distance.
7 gpp selamat ke bang kalau guna daily use?
Isn't kaya, whitefeather, freddie all the same bow with different decoration elements? The official sites don't have very detailed information about the build/laminations of their bows, and other specs. We are left kind of guessing and it's a pity. I like to know what I'm spending my money on.
yeah checked the website, showed an error.... I can only show the performance
You do a great work showing us all these bows. Performance wise, makes me want to buy one!
Based on the performance, I think they are from different bowyers, or the bowyer make tiered bows.
가야궁을 리뷰해주시는군요 뭔가 기쁘내요
I need to find the budget somehow as my 35# is getting a bit easy to draw.
가야궁 사야겠다
Kaya black vs monarq …which one do you prefer
Mine is from Kaya bows, Korea, the build looks very different. But performs probably the same. My favorite bow for sure!
this one is from Kaya too, they just don't send me some to review, so my friend in Switzerland had to send one :D
@@ArminHirmer I've seen these Kayas before, its available in Indonesia too I think, but I had no idea it's made in Switzerland. They perform awesome. Very fast and no stacking. Thank you for the review Armin!!

This is an excellent bow because of the price. You can get this bow equivalent to 125 Euro in my country.
Look fresh...💪💪💪😸😸😸👍👍👍
Hi,Reliz derst pondazh whichis the best arrow to targeting the left point ?
Ok, I'm gonna have to get that bow. 46' ? amazing
How would you compare this bow to the Segye Korean Bow from Alibow?
Black K is newer design and performs a bit better
You better get the Kaya Black K 😉
Nice bow and quite. Faster then i thought it would be
Hai sir..is this bow suitable for horseback archery too?
Since the draw length is 31 inches, then how to find the anchor point?
Could you kindly show us with a video?
Thank you.
Is that the string or the arrows that's making that puff of white when u shoot
don't know, but it looks cool (Guess the feathers)
I've got a bow exactly like that, but red belly, "Kaya Windfighter", also 46" version. I'm not as fond of the metallic black on the back, yeah the glue is sloppy, and it does look like a bit like a toy - but my god **it shoots so gooood**! Going from thumb drawn compound with super easy 32" draw I wanted a small trad bow that allowed for the long draw without stacking (being used to actual let-off) - and this was over my expectations!
I did buy a new string quickly though: the red & white string was so thick none of my arrow nocks fit over it, I could only put the wing tips over, enough to shoot, but I like peace of mind.
Not sure if mine is Swiss - I think the online store was in Germany or the Netherlands though (I'm in Sweden).
A 46" Windfighter? Pound or Size?
@@AlfaRevoluzione 46" length, 30# draw weight, since I thought it would be heavier than my compounds at 40#. The names of the Kayas seems to only differ in color for the belly. I'm gonna order a few more to try to get more friends hooked on archery :)
*EDIT*: I looked at it and I actually have the 50" version (it measures 120 cm NTN when strung).
@@oscarcampbell1242 cant believe, they say no producing 46 Windfighter. Yeah go ahead, spred those Bows, its replace a psycjologist ;)
@@AlfaRevoluzione You're right, I edited the comment - it was actually 50" - don't know how I mixed it up :)

Hello, I am a factory producing one bow in China. I want you to know about it. I've seen a lot of your videos, and I've seen you test bows that come out of my factory
Then I hope you are happy with my review :)
나는 한국인입니다.
Do you think this bow is better than YMG?
It's better not because ymg is twice the price
the world is upside down ... the bow is silent... the arrows are noisy... its Korean , but it doesn't stack.
Korean bow from swiss manufacturers count me in
No its from Qorea, we just import them ;)
@@AlfaRevoluzione hey Martin how do you pick the size of the bow? I am 5 foot 8.25 inches or 173.355 centimeters tall. Is the draw weight at 30 or 31 inches?
I am assuming the right bow length is based on the Korean anchor point which is to the ear lobe but not quite sure. Do I measure from nock groove to belly or nock groove to back of the bow?
@@OpiatesAndTits weight measured at 30 inch Draw. Classical Korean Draw and 1.74cm taal i woulda choose minimum a 48, better a 50 inch Bow
@@AlfaRevoluzione so length is purely about what draw length you need then?
@@OpiatesAndTits There are 2 Lneghths. Length of the Bow (size) And draw length. as more you draw, as more power the Bow has
To me Korean bows generally look like cheap plastic toys from Hong Kong....call me a bow snob but serious archers use serious equipment. Armin superb job as always
true, until you shoot one ;)
@@ArminHirmer don't get me wrong buddy there have been a couple Korean bows you did a review on I wouldn't mind having and I'll break down and buy one some day
Yeah that was my first impression but this thing is dead silent and at 187 is no slouch speed wise.
Some people just use what it have and still can shoot. During war we cant depend on accessoriesthough.
