As a gaming laptop I would say the Zephyrus M is better because it uses full-size GPUs, and it also has tb3 for eGPUs. But I think the Zephyrus S is a better overall laptop because of the thinner bezels, lighter weight, and the cooling system is even better than the zephyrus M because of the massive intake vents north of the keyboard. Also, it is still a great gaming laptop. I wish the battery sizes on both would be better though.

@@ko-Daegu I bought a Lenovo Legion Y530 w/ 1050 Ti, i7 8750h, 16gig ram, 60hz screen, and intel optane a few months back and after about a month just after I could return it it started pooping out. Disk write errors Windows would have a number of hiccups/errors and then fail to boot. I tried to reinstall Windows 10 4-5 times with the same thing happening after a few days each time.
I contacted Lenovo support and let them know both verbally and written that a reinstall did not fix it and then sent it in for the 1st time. I also told them to hold onto it for as long as necessary and MAKE SURE it works. After two weeks they sent it back having done nothing, but installed windows 10 Pro on it which it did not even have a license for.
I tried to reinstall Windows 10 home, but found out you need Lenovo's "special utility" to ket all of the software and drivers. Then after a call back to Lenovo I waited another week and a half to get the flash drive with the install. It pooped out on me again
Then I had to contact Lenovo support again and sent it back a 2nd time. Saying the same thing again HOLD ONTO IT FOR AS LONG AS NECESSARY and the Indian tech support lady was not very sincere or helpful at all. They replaced the hard drive and took about two weeks again. I install and boot up and play SFV and try to play online and after five minutes boom banned for 24 hours. I play often on my desktop with worse wireless and it is located further away from the router and have never been banned.
I contact Lenovo support again because I can tell it is just a matter of time and send it back a 3rd time.
Wish me luck, but the Y530 is built pretty cheaply as well. I realize this might just be my experience, but I may have ended up with a lemon that I do not know what to do with. I cannot return it, I can guarantee that if I try to use it after a couple of days I will ALWAYS lose all my data and have to reinstall, and Lenovo support has not really listened or solved the problem yet. I cannot sell it either ethically because I do not want to sell a malfunctioning piece of crap to someone.
I noticed the machine start to warp and bend after normal use and the plastic sh** on the back is so hard to figure out how to get off and the first couple of times it feels like you are going to break the thing just trying to get it off.
Sorry for the long reply, but I wanted to share my experience. I realize that my experience may be unique, but if this is not a dark story about cheap Lenovo laptops I do not know what is.

What would be your recommendation for a sorta thin/light laptop for car design/industrial design? Most important software is gonna be the Adobe CC stuff (PS, Illustrator, ID) and Autodesk Alias. Sorta good battery life would be nice and no overheating of course and maybe not looking like a spaceship. I was looking at a Blade 15 or a Aero 15X (also Zephyrus M and GS65 but those don't have the greatest battery). The thing is, the Blade is probably the perfect package, but I've heard so many negative things about them. Not really in the reviews, but after some time. Just not sure if those are just the few faulty devices or if it's a general issue. And spending €2000+ I don't really want to have issues to be honest.
What would you recommend in that situation? Maybe a different device than the ones I considered? Or should I maybe just wait a little longer for new devices?

best desktop replacement is without any kind of competitors, clevo chassis like p870tm(top line),p775tm.p751tm wth cpu desktop like 8086K which you can now even put 9700K/9900K not to mention ram support of 3000-3200Mhz ramand supporting them too. not to mention 4-5Storage options. and different (up to 5-6 monitor/LCD panel) and ...
it's very regretful that many aren't recommending or testing these powerful laptops.the cinebench for clevo with 9th gen is 2014 and for 8950hk it's below 1600 points.
then at second place is their gtx1060/1050ti variant(more portable) models n950tp6/n957tp6 and nb50tk/nb50tj which again you could use 65W desktop cpu on it like 8700 which performs better than 8950hk(latter due to to throttling) and as it's upgradable you will be able to put 9700 on it too next year!
