84 years ago, time flies dawg
@@datutturugang666 1 year ago 😢
It went from Metallica Fuel to the grocery store MIDI version... lol
The commentary is on a professional level you should consider a career in it bro
yeah.... its called youtube.....
He sounds like the classic f1 presenter
Yeah he sounds like a commentator for races. I definitely think he could make a great career out of it
The only reason i stayed was because of his commentating lol
This guy is better than some commentators and they are simply sitting on a chair.
Non-stop talking while driving... if I do that I can't concentrate and drive like a drunk.
Yea he's good at that for sure
If he starts driving in rallies, tough life for the codriver!
I have always been amazed by that 😂 thought i was the only one
As a former SCCA racer I learned early to talk my way through the course on each lap. It helped my experience and performance. I drove for several years and then the reality of cost set in and gave it up. I think I might just take up video racing now that I've seen this vid.
@@Cre8Thought41 did you get a rig yet?
I brought mine as part of a mid life crisis way cheaper than Porsche and endless fun.
Thicc Brit sluggishly maneuvers extremly advanced German track racing machinery up some mountain road, partly in reverse, just to yeet it off again, 2019, no need for it to be colorized
kraut space magic mk.2
that is one hecc of a darn diddly good comment
This whole thread is perfection…
Thick Brit quickly pounds slim German on lonely mountain road
@@abramo7700 *not clickbait*
I have no idea how you were able to talk and drive that fast. It's super impressive
It's weird to see a VR recreation of a road half a mile from my house.
it looks so wide on the video....does it look right to you?
@@woodrunner51 Just drove it last week. It feels WAY narrower and more inclined in person than in any sim or game I've driven it on.
@@gardinerkirby9849 ye, it looks huge in game...
Right I used to live in green mtn falls and heard the cars way off in the distance, I need to figure out how to mod asetto, this is great
9:55 Finishing the race like Richard Hammond
Thats dark af
Oof 💀
and the 3-4 secs from having to reverse that was awesome dude
Make this a new series. Just like how fast can .... lap the nordschleife. But now how fast can it do pikes peak!
Redbull x2010 run on pikes peak?
It wouldn't get around those super tight hairpins at all. But still would be interesting to see
@@SuPeRsHaDiC103 he would probably get max 50%, unless.... He does it on dirt
@@SuPeRsHaDiC103 it doing 3 point turns would make it an actual challenge for it to beat the 919
Also wouldn't mind seeing other cars such as modern and classic F1 cars
Where do you find likes peak
Excellent driving, Mr. Narrowstraight! I remember when Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima broke the 10-minute mark on the Race to the Clouds. Absolutely terrifying watching them go 125MPH around those corners on dirt. I live about an hour away from Pike's Peak, have driven that road several times, and the pucker factor at 45MPH is extreme once you get above treeline. And that's all post 2011, when the last bit of dirt was paved (too many lawsuits on account of goons going over cliffs).
Its not Jimmer, its hill climby boiii
honestly i just found your channel and as a person i dont care what so ever about racing sims, racing in real life, hill climbing, car setup, rallyes.. anything.. but the commentary is SO FAKIN GOOD MAN... SO GOOD
Look for the pole...... Don't blink or it's gone!!!! Haha
Dude... Why has Rolex not asked you to be a commentator for the 24 Hours of Le Mans?! Your voice and tone are perfect for it!
Does the sim model the loss of downforce and engine power as the climb goes on? That's one of the big advantages of the IDR being electric, it doesn't lose power at altitude.
Idk if the difference in power would be huge since it's a hybrid
naah
IIRC, when i used to play AC, there was an option for elevation power change
might have been me but in the video the car seemed to accelerate a lot faster at lower altitude
The Porsche wouldn’t have too many problems since it’s a turbo iirc
Porsche 919 vs Rainbow Road pls
My grandparent live across the street from Pikes Peak highway I've been up plenty of times and know some of the old school hill climb guys there still building cars!
This Porsche in Mount Panorama!
This
He already did this in the video where he tried to beat Jenson Button's laptime in the McLaren F1 car and the 919
If talking while driving distracts him,
*imagine him drive without talking*
please do this idea as a video!
like so he can see this
This was spectacular, Jimmy. I'd love to see this become a series ala Nordschleife, and also a montage of you crashing horribly during this attempt (because we've all been there on Pikes Peak).
I had to double check i wasn't playing the video at 1.5x. As it turns out, that car is fucking fast, and your live commentary skills are superb.
That's some insane driving and track knowledge, all coupled with a fluent commentary. Amazing
Would be insane to see this thing thunder up Pikes Peak.
ALSO FOR GOD SAKE JIMMY! let's get a fast time in the Peugeot!
I was trying this a few weeks ago… and maaaaaan Jimmy makes this look easy. So impressive. It’s also so good to hear someone else have trouble with those hairpins ☠️ they were killlling me
Why is this pretty much the greatest thing I've ever seen? I'm enthralled.
I've driven up Pike's Peak for real (and did my ironing when I got to the summit; long story) and it's terrifying in a road car if you've never driven up a mountain and you don't want to get above 2nd or 3rd gear for the most part. After 10,000 feet you start to notice the lack of oxygen, above 12,000ft there's no vegetation and the air is very thin. Then you consider that people race up it......
I would love to see this as a new series, keep it up thicc shed boii!
8:21 "It's better to err on the side of caution, I believe"
Hot Lap Jimmer and Race Day Jimmer are not one and the same.
i could listen to the commentary all day, it's just so fast and mesmerizing,
What impresses me the most is how calmly he comments the track as he absolutely rips it.
Gotta love that permanent Spa layout on the right side A pillar. It's there, no matter where you take it. Like that car was made especially for Spa.
this is actually genuine skill. racing that fast on a coarse that technical while talking with a knowledge of that coarse and tricks of the trade im really impressed. and that gear is shit i can only dream about using. good on ya. take them hair pins a lil wider!
Fuckin amazing commentary, extremely difficult race and you spoke almost the entire time without losing concentration, earned yourself a sub
Nearly every time I've ever tried to do Pikes Peak, I get extremely familiar with the first split, because I keep crashing. There are still parts of the layout I can't remember at all because I've barely ever reached them
That's why the dirt game series does Pikes Peak right. seperating it into 3 seperate stages that you tackle seperate, then starts combining them together. Makes it much easier to get to know the whole course that way. Last bit before final semi hairpin can be done flat out in any car in Dirt, if you get the line right.
@@HarlesBently They should put Trento Bondone in there as well.Very curvy and technical 17.5 kilometre long hillclimb.Seen plenty of onboards from that track.Simply crazy track as well.
very good, congratz!! "i cant remember where i am, i cant remember where i am " the best part !!!!!
It'd be fun to see an Older NHRA Pro Stock Car race up Pikes Peak because it would feed off the Thin Air going to the Top.
If you were a sports commentator doing sim racing on the side, I would have believed it. You sir desire a beer, and a job in the commentator box in most sporting events.
Jimmy: *Driving as hard as humanly possible*
Also Jimmy: *Commentating as hard as humanly possible*
I love your channel, what got me to it was the how fast can blank go around the nordschleife, but I would love to see a sister series to that where you see how fast blank can go up pikes peak, much love jimmer keep up the good work
I love how he can drive and do commentary at the same time. It’s crazy. Try it.... it’s hard😂 keep up mate. Loving all your videos.
The way you can drive this at the limit and commentate is insane. You could really be a top driver in real life.
Gotta love how fast you commentate! Showing how much your brain is working while driving these nutty cars Haha! Great videos as always Jimmy!!!
I love going to watch PPIHC every year and the festival. Watching this gave me chills
6:40 a mouse in the car!
First one of your videos I’ve ever watched and it’s remarkable how much like an f1 announcer u sound like
It’s the 2nd video that I’m watching on your channel and tbh, your commentary is damn spot on. How come you ain’t a professional motorsports commentator yet?
I'm an American living in California.
I enjoy Pike's Peak.
Your Pike's Peak stuff is how I found you.
Keep up the good work.
I enjoy Isle of Man as well.
Maybe you can do some of that.
That initial acceleration always scares the shit out of me. That car is just absolutely bonkers
Love all your Pike's Peak hill climb videos! I'd love to see more vehicles take on Pike's Peak and have a similar time trial competition like the nordschleife
ok this is better than the irl onboards for learning the hill. Thanks jimmy
You´re a god. I know this took many takes to work out, but I´m still amazed at where your maximum capability lies.
This was one of the coolest drives of you, well done. I love that 919. Unfortunately I only have Forza Motorsport and thus not some many tracks 😩
Hit the like button while the advert was playing. I’ve got that much confidence in this video Jimmy!
You're a HELL of a driver Jimmer. Greets from Alabama.
Jimmy is the only guy who could into reverse on a record run and still beat the record
Good idea for you add practice bloopers in the end, especially for all rally stuff. Id love to see your reaction to smashing trees, or being smashed by trees
That's a good idea
Gran Turismo 2 called, they want their Pikes Peak textures back
xD
Bro the reverse during a speed run was epic
I remember back when Monster Tajima got past the 10 minute mark on Pikes Peak back in 2011, now we are doing 9 and 8 minute runs. Thats truely amazing. If anyone is interested his 2011 record is on RUclips. GoPro HD: Pikes Peak 2011 Monster Tajima's World Record. One of my favorite videos on RUclips.
First time came here...
Instantly told myself, "SICK SETUP" !!!
Wow!!! This track is so much different than the one in Drift Rally. There are absolutely no noticeable elevation changes!!!
Great video as always Jimmer - keep it up!
I was there the day VW set the record. I was towards the top, at the corner where the motorcycle crashed that year. I’ve seen all kinds of race cars to include drag racing and land speed events. Visually what you see and what your ears think it should sound like and what it does sound like it’s hard to really comprehend the engineering behind these vehicles. Amazing experience
To add to it as well, that day not too soon after the run it started hailing, thunderstorming, then snowing at the summit. And I was at about the point where you said you’ve lost all confidence in the upper portion. It’s massively impressive
Another great video, loving the content even more now that I have a Rift and can watch the video without being thoroughly jealous.
Couple of ideas if you are ever struggling:
1. R3E Leaderboard challenges - this one is purely selfish, I was 9th on the hillclimb and wouldn't mind seeing how I stack up against some real talent.
2. Maybe a new hot lap one but at night or with inclement weather.
3. Some learn the track features, maybe something tied to F1 2018 since those streams get pretty big numbers and there is only one choice of car - maybe Jimmer's Pure Driving School?
4. Star in a unreasonably priced sim rig? There has already been Veronica and Marc Priestley, I think #blessed still has another month or so off.
the commentary is next-level
Man its insane to even begin to imagine racing pikes peak this well. So fast you can't just be surprised by corners but theres 100000's of corners and at these speeds he just has to "know" the track
That was like the best racing commentary i've heard in ages. Consider a career please
AE86 would be faster down hill
Kansei Doriftu
This guy tho
Ok buddy
NANI?
Ik it's a joke but I don't think local street racers in Japan could handle or even think of driving a multi million dollar hill climb car
I love how at the end we could see through the car as you were checking the record time on your phone
Pavement ruined The Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Used to be gravel from bottom to top. It was really something when the World Rally Group B cars showed up in the mid 80s
I was at Pikes Peak when VW broke the record. That car is freaking fast.
I’ve driven to the summit twice, that was a awesome display of skill my friend.
Lol ur commentary makes these drives so intense I swear hahah.
I love a hill climb on pikes peak just the shear bonkerness of the stage
Combined with this awesome machine what a combination
I’d love to see the peak in newer sims
Brilliant vid awesome 👏🏻
Love it if you did a sim race/time trial with the Radical SR3 & Peugeot THP Spider! Two racing cars I grew up with in a sense!!! Would be awesome!
*I feel like I’m listening to an Auction*
I'm so happy he did a pikes peak video, hopefully he can do some other cars too
I love going to the top of pikes peak! I am about 25 min from the top and it's really a sight to see.
Our boi's almost at 200k :O POGGERS
Update time
Over 500k😂
That was insane mate well done.
I've watch the video all the way to the end before realising its actually Assetto Corsa x)
Top quality vid tho :] keep doing your thing !
I could see you being a really good co-driver for rally
My cousins do the Pikes Peak race in real life. It’s crazy watching it in their perspective.
Commentary is top notch, but it was the first of his videos i'd clicked on. I wish i'd known it was a simulation. Big lol at me!
LMAO
Wow that Porsche is fast! Blindingly fast!
When the driver is the announcer: Why aren't all sports like this???
Love the VR videos keep up the great work
game skill and commentary skill on point
Commentary and driving, cool!
Add front and rear toe out for sharp corners
This is the 21st birthday present I needed
Why are you so good at driving, also you sound like a Tour de France announcer
The acceleration of that car in real life is sick, 0-62 mph in 1,9 sec and 0-124 in 4,5 sec and 0-186 in 8,4 sec😱
Very impressed by the commentary
How Jim's intro work
"Hey guys!" + *roasts himself* + "on another video"
Thank you Jimmer! Very cool!
There's two professions. One, the racer. two the commentator. This guy excels at both, amazing.
Wait, he is also a gamer and a youtuber... C'mon man spare us some work too!
Very nice beat, keep it up ! 💪
I`m impressed how good you comment, while driving fast as hell !!!
