You're not wrong, I first saw them in 88/89 and loads of time after that all round the country, they always put on a feckin great show, 8 Legged Groove Mc and HUP were the soundtrack to my life for 3 or 4 years, Gilksy always looked the happiest drummer I'd ever seen, he was born to play the drums
Finally live Phoenix festival 94, is the greatest ever gig I’ve been to … it made absolutely no sense for them to split up when they did. Glad they are touring again, albeit it with a new line up
Tickets to this concert were given to me by my now husband for my 21st birthday present; fantastic memories...fast forward 20 years and I reunited with the people I went to this gig with to see The Wonderstuff and Salvation support The Mission in Leeds. Miles has grown his hair again and for all the world it was like I'd gone back in time to see him looking as he did all those years ago; I felt like I was young again. 20 years have past but they were as good as they ever were. Love you stuffies!
Same as , weekend started with five of us, after the gig there was about twenty sleeping in the hire transit and everyone properly off their tits , brilliant weekend , well what I can remember of it anyways
So glad I found this.. was at this concert at Bescot stadium.. first time i had ever heard kingmaker who were one of the support acts .. as soon as they came outand said "fuck me it's kingmaker " i was hooked.. Stuffies were immense that day
Well said, gigs like this used to be for the working class loons, now it’s all middle class, Oh Ya went to Glastonbury last year, got loads of hits on my Facebook. I’m not bitter or nowt!!
I remember watching this documentary on my 20th birthday in my parents' lounge with my friends, rather tipsy. I thought this video was the most exciting thing ever. Saw them at various festivals (Reading, Feile) around this time.
Miles Hunt always said that the Stuffies would never play a stadium but when they played at Bescott he said it was too small to count as a proper stadium. I was there, it was a great gig, Stuffies on top form plus a great set from Spirit of the West who were from Canada and Neds. I love the way it goes from black and white which was recorded at the soundcheck to colour when the tempo goes up.
Pissed down all day best gig ever wonderful wonder stuff definitely the most underrated band ever dare I say if they was from London they would have been given much more respect !
A memory came up on Facebook about the release of Hup (32 years ago.....😯) so watched some vids. I was there at Bescot and what a gig it was. Suoerb stuff indeed.
I was there and arrived in Walsall on the day with no hotel [great planning]. Ended up staying at the same hotel as the band so we cold go to the after party.
I remember in the years of their hay day. They played the Metro in Chicago and I managed to get myself on top of the mosh pit, stiffening my body for easy transference, the crowd carried me directly in front of Miles and I gave him the Devil horns and he gave them back with a flick of the tongue...
Big regret I never went to this one, . . .saw them plenty of times In Wolvo, Brum, Leicester etc bloody awesome! Just don't get this kind of reaction at gigs knowaday's, apart from small Wedding Present gigs, where I still go mental!
Hup, i was there too....It rained cats and dogs but the heat from 20k like minded people bouncing up and down seemed to keep us dry (ish). At 2 min 48 thru to 2.min 51, thats me that is. Miles was a hero that day.
Love that story about the mission uk and the london suede but im sure it had nothing to do with u2 trying to preach their religion to the masses..psychodelic experiences revival perhaps?
Hands down, the most underrated band of all time.
thumbs up to your "hands down"
@@RedBankMark thumbs up to your thumbs up to that hands down.
Yep, they were amazeballs!!
Never heard of them

I've yet to meet anyone who was there who didn't rate it as one of their best gigs ever. What a day it was... 26 years later, and what a day.
One of the greatest gigs I've ever been totally agree
I can watch this video again & again, it's so good, seeing them in Leeds tonight, hooray!
In times of depression I turn to The Wonder Stuff and Red Wine, far outstrips Prozac!!
Me too what a great time and band one of my favourites
If I could time travel back to 1991, I'd be sure to be at this show. Incredible energy.
Brilliant band miles is a legend

Why, oh why did I not hear of this band during their time?!?
I may be 30 odd years too late too the call but oh sweet Jaysus how I love this song 😳🥺❤
Was at this gig, Kingmaker were superb, Spirit of the West were superb, the stuffies were incredible.
Goosebumps watching this.
12 of us in mini bus from South Shields, absolutley destroyed on scrumpy jack.
F@~?ing great day.
Same as , weekend started with five of us, after the gig there was about twenty sleeping in the hire transit and everyone properly off their tits , brilliant weekend , well what I can remember of it anyways
Just found this again after commenting on it nine years ago - if I could like it again I would 👍👍👍👍
Probably the best live band I’ve seen and I’ve seen thousands!
Listening to this in 2019, still great. 😎
Just wowed every time I watch this. Saw them 1994 Phoenix Fest. Carter USM supporting. Day to remember tht was... Top band The Stuffies.
I was there, I was one of those 20,000 people with brown hair jumping up and down. #goodtimes
There too
Damn fine day
Still sounds great
Bescot stadium?
@@bjdelaney3131 Yeah 👍🏼
I saw them in Philadelphia !!! Great band !!!!
So glad I found this.. was at this concert at Bescot stadium.. first time i had ever heard kingmaker who were one of the support acts .. as soon as they came outand said "fuck me it's kingmaker " i was hooked.. Stuffies were immense that day
notice all the crowd going wild and jumping around - nowadays everyone would be standing still carefully recording the band playing on their iPhone.
+revol148 well isn't that complete bullshit
+toommy182 what's bullshit - the filming of gigs or the lack of any mosh pit at the front of gigs?
the bouncers throwing you on the floor when you "surfed" to the front, and then doing it again, lol good times.
Well said, gigs like this used to be for the working class loons, now it’s all middle class, Oh Ya went to Glastonbury last year, got loads of hits on my Facebook. I’m not bitter or nowt!!
I lived it 😄 no cells, no BS

One of the best days of my teen years. My feet are on the video! What the hell has happened to music..?
My first ever gig, great memories amazing day. Sending shivers down my spine watching this!!!
One of the best gigs ever :-) the whole day at Bescot stadium was absolutely effing awesome.....Walsalls Woodstock heheh
+Jammy Git Mine Too!!!!!
2021 still here.
what a band, what a great day, pissed as a fart, wet through but didn't give a toss, awsome memories.
'Thank you' to the band that made the 90's so enjoyable..
& To the girls from Penn at Reading back in 92, "Up the Wolves"!!
This is why we should always live for the day. However much I long for times like this, they won't happen again for me!

this takes me back to when music was good
Pissed down all day best gig ever wonderful wonder stuff definitely the most underrated band ever dare I say if they was from London they would have been given much more respect !
1m 30secs in was the reason I went to gigs. I want phones banned from gigs
I was there at Bescot Stadium it was amazing! i even got carried over the barrier at the front by St John ambulance!
God I miss these days more than ever!!! Hopefully in a parallel universe we all get to do it all over again when we leave this place!
Amazing, when they had Martin Bell on fiddle and mandolin. Classic lineup
This was the first gig I attended and their first live song from their set if I remember rightly... Brilliant :)
Yes, they always opened with this track around that time.
wow amazing first gig to go to! loved watching excerpts from this show on WTTCS vid as a teenager...
My first gig too, I do believe I was there with you! Still sends shivers down my spine. :)
Love them so much, first saw them with New Order, in Birmingham, still sound so great!
My friends use "Hes a bit of a hunt" as modern day rhyming slang, bit like 'Bag for life" = wife. Truth remains the same.
I saw this band years ago. Amazing!
30 years ago! I was there.
A memory came up on Facebook about the release of Hup (32 years ago.....😯) so watched some vids. I was there at Bescot and what a gig it was. Suoerb stuff indeed.
What a fuckin great day that was...
I was there for the big day out......far out
22nd June '91 with 18000 others in the rain. Good times
Such an amazing live band, brilliant
I was there and arrived in Walsall on the day with no hotel [great planning]. Ended up staying at the same hotel as the band so we cold go to the after party.

I was there .... one of the best gigs ever!!!
It pissed it down & I leaked red hair dye all over my newly brought pink Stuffies T-shirt.
Happy Days...
hahah totally the same dude
no arguments, the best wonder stuff song.
Still gives me the chills.
What a song ❤️
My 1st live show amazing day!
Thank You for Posting!!!!!
simply the best..
20 odd years later and it still brings back vivid memories of my psycho compulsive liar ex gf. Wicked track though.
i had a ponytail ffs. Love the stuffies

Black Countries finest at their best!

Well,I do love a good fiddle..
The Stone Roses meets The Waterboys
22 years ago i cant believe it i remember the day well at the tender age of 15 anyone know if theres anymore videos of this gig
same here. it also kicked off an obsession with finding those tartan trousers. 15 years later i did, if only to wear in bed.
Yup hup hup.....my hair is long again and I'm 48 years young.....tickets booked for Sheffield.....far out!!
31st anniversary tour of Never Loved Elvis , WTF happened to the time?
Big regret I never went to this one, . . .saw them plenty of times In Wolvo, Brum, Leicester etc bloody awesome!
Just don't get this kind of reaction at gigs knowaday's, apart from small Wedding Present gigs, where I still go mental!
I so need this DVD but looks like its gone...
how good was gilksy!
Amazon have it on vhs but not dvd. There is also a cd of it from Amazon.
Hup, i was there too....It rained cats and dogs but the heat from 20k like minded people bouncing up and down seemed to keep us dry (ish).
At 2 min 48 thru to 2.min 51, thats me that is. Miles was a hero that day.
This is my memory too. As their set went on the condensation that formed over the mosh pit became like a London pea souper.
Does anyone have a download link for this album
Wonkey.. It was re released on DVD by the wonderstuff recently. You should be able to get it from their website
I have this on DVD it was re issued about 5 years ago...have you tried the official stuffies site
Such a shame about Martin Gilks - still can't believe it.
Anyone know what Malcolm Treece, Martin Bell and Paul Clifford are doing now?
Malcolm is my personal trainer. Great band and Im only 26! I think this is better than most of the auto-tuned rubbish we have today!
How much would you pay for that Bescot gig on blu ray - a definitive teenage awakening of just how great the stuffies were
This was the one with Fast automatic Daffodils? Stadium?
Stone Roses
Love that story about the mission uk and the london suede but im sure it had nothing to do with u2 trying to preach their religion to the masses..psychodelic experiences revival perhaps?
The Violinist is not as pretty 😊
D listers...never got them...mediocre...nothing different or outstanding about them.
