Cleaning a Wolf Griddle - how to

- Cleaning a Wolf brand single or double griddle is easy.
When cooking is finished, turn the griddle down to a low temperature, use a bit of canola oil, then scrub with the scrub pads that come with most griddle cleaning kits. Push everything towards you into the drip tray, then dispose. When finished, spread a very thin layer of canola oil to prevent oxidation until next use - the griddle will smoke a bit when you turn it on next time. When that smoke stops, all the previous oil will be burnt off and everything will be ready to go. Easy. Simple. Awesome.

I can't believe I spent 5 minutes watching someone clean a griddle. Yet, I feel like it's time well spent.
Thank you! I had no idea I could clean with oil- going to try!
Thanks for the great demonstration! I just installed a Wolf griddle and love cooking with it. Do you have a preference of brand or link to the exact cleaning utensils you used?
cool content Zack G. I killed the thumbs up on your video. Continue to keep up the awesome work.
Where would I find these types of cleaning utensils?
Home Depot or Lowes. He used a red and green ScotchBrite pad and a drywall knife.
I am so tempted to wipe with water.
What are the cooking utensils you used and cleaning pads
I have the wolf griddle and it literally has peeled from the surface how to get ot back smooth ive cleaned till im blue in the face
Just had a Wolf 4 burner with infrared griddle installed yesterday. I will be looking for a proper griddle cleaning kit from Wolf as I'm afraid of marring it not even 24 hours after installation, as so far I already can't get it cleaned up to its original pristine condition after one use. How do you clean the vent grill at the top of the griddle?
This is exactly my question! How can he declare that griddle "clean" when there is cooked on grease on the vent? I wish I could get an 8 burner rangetop from Wolf, and am considering Miele for that sole reason, even though I want a Wolf.
It looks like you are cleaning wtih Canola, but I heard you should cook with Grape Seed Oil. Is this correct and would you potentially use different oils for cooking vs. cleaning? Is the canola simply for cleanup?
Yes, using a high heat oil, like grape seed/canola, will give favorable results for cleaning and higher temp cooking.
I need all those tools to clean my range
what about cleaning the vent part? How to do?
Try Bar Keepers Friend on a towel/sponge and wipe clean. Start with a little then add more as needed.
Is this a griddle where you could let it get blackened or no??
Yes , normally you would
What about the vent area that’s getting out looking bad too how do we clean that got up a little spikes
A little Bar Keepers Friend should do the trick.
the wolfe sponsored videos say you let it season black. why this method? what happens to all those microscopic pieces of stainless steel that got scratched off?
What wolf model number was that
Man that’s a lot of work
I’ll just use my removable cast iron griddle from lodge
just as much work to clean and season cast iron. The built in has much more even heat because it uses infrared rather than having burners under the griddle. It's a toss up for me still. 6 burner vs 4 with griddle.
Dude u scratch everything and what about grill looking things on the bottom of the screen #dirty
this method completely destroys the cooking surface, which needs to be protected for a long life
