That was not possible with vcenter 7.0 for esxi 6.7 hosts. Is that working with latest vcenter 8.0 builds also? There are vcenter 8.0u1d and 8.0u2c now available. Are those also support esxi 7.0u3* hosts to add and update with Lifecycle Manager?

[of course] not every 7.0XX works. VMWARE is a mess when it comes to retrocompatibility, i always have the feeling that they keep improvising new stuff without any kind of guidelines.

this update impact the VM that runing on the host ?

During this update, the host will be rebooted automatically. If you are performing this update on a DRS enabled cluster, VMs will automatically migrate before the host enters maintenance mode. So there won't be any production impact.

No need to put esxi host on maintainance mode manually before upgrade right?

If you use vmware lifecycle manager, No need to put host in maintenance mode manually.
