The dumbest usage of Exodia in the entire series was the duel between Kaiba and Gozoboro. Its stupid to think about because the whole point of Exodia is that you immediately win the duel but Gozoboro, being unskilled when it comes to dueling thought it was smarter to use "Contract of Exodia" which summons a non debatably worse version of Exodia and is somehow shocked that Kaiba has now thought of contingency plans when it comes to dealing with Exodia after only losing to him once Like Gozoboro even says this during the duel how he has no time to waste yet still has enough time to summon Necross instead of just having all 5 exodia pieces immediately in his hand turn 1.
Awesome. Cool how Yugi was able to stop his first Battle City opponent from summoning it, as, while it's invincible when together, the parts to do so, can be countered.
Something I always found fascinating about Battle City was all of Marik's different contingency plans and how each of them failed because Marik could never factor in the absolute raw power of the Millennium Puzzle and how it was always the one thing that made Yami the best duelist Seeker had a deck based around milling Exodia. His deck was filled with nothing but Graceful Charities and Exodia Pieces. His strategy was based around speed Arcana's deck was based around demoralization because it was structed around using the Dark Magician String's deck was based around increasing the atk strength of Slifer the Sky Dragon and since Yugi could not win the traditional way had to win using a more outside the box approach by having String lose by milling his entire deck Lumis and Umbra were Tag Specials that were banking on Kaiba's complete indifference toward Yami and Yami's friends because all he wanted was Marik and Yugi's Egyptian God Cards Joey possessed under Marik was when Marik was at his most desperate because Joey's modified deck was based around spamming Rageki as fast as possible to get Yami's puzzle and his missing god card back. Then near the end of Battle City we see Marik's overreliance on Ra and its very predictable strategy of just nuking his lifepoints down to "1" to keep the game going but to have Ra just strong enough to prolong the duel. Its a colorful metaphor of how the evil that came from the Millennium Rod is worthless without things propping it up until Marik's redeemed state of mind realized he gains nothing from having the Pharaoh lose the duel because the entity taking control of Marik also doesnt value him. This is foreshadowing at the end of the series where the evil inside the Millennium Ring treats Bakura the same way.

Its like Gozoboro is outraged how a company he made on his own literally only got better after Kaiba reshaped it into something completely unrecognizable and it wasnt even something Kaiba created from the ground up it was just shaped into something completely different that was 500 times more successful after a pre-existing company that was already largely successful at something different If Gozoboro really wanted to spite Kaiba why didnt he just turn 1 OTK by saying "OH LOOK ALL 5 CARDS IN MY HAND ARE THE 5 EXODIA PIECES! Classic Yugi was great. It was my childhood. Back in those days I remember summoning fusion and ritual monsters feels better than winning the duel hha.
I have a hard time believing that Kaiba would be unfamiliar with ANY card in Duel Monsters. Not only is the game his hobby and passion. But his company's flagship product is holoprojectors that create life-sized holograms of every card. He should have insider knowledge of the game because his product line should require a team of developers to program in every card and possible interaction.
Yes, but keep in mind that in the world of the game, Pegasus is a very cheeky bastard who is releasing cards _in secret._ Heck, the entire plot of the first Yugioh Movie is about Kaiba betting that Pegasus had a contingency plan to beat the Egyptian Gods should he ever battle them, and yet he kept this card a secret.
@@GanonGhidorah That would basically require Pegasus' company to have built the game engine for the Duel Arenas, encrypted everything, and licensed it to Kiaba Corp to install on his Duel Disks. But that doesn't work because of the different hardware. Plus there are several models of Duel Disks which don't seem to have been built by Kiaba Corp. Basically it's a hot mess that doesn't make a lot of sense so you have to not think about it. Also, Pegasus barely needs a contingency plan for the God Cards. His Millennium Eye serves as his counter-measure because he sees it coming. He only needs to play around them if the opponent draws one. And considering that they are literally unique, nobody can have more than 1 of each and it's highly unlikely that anybody would even turn up with 1. The fact that there are only 4 copies of BEW Dragon in the world and Kiaba owns 3 of them is more than a little silly to begin with.
Tbf it’s not that he didn’t know exodia existed. In fact he did know that up to that point, no one had ever brought together all 5 pieces and summoned him. That’s why he was taken aback when it happened, esp since it was a luck of the draw top deck that he had no idea yugi/yami was even going for
Yeah the world building in yugioh is absolutely nonsensical and falls apart the moment you start to think about it. Like how is dropping out of school to learn to be a duelist a thing?
3:15 Im convinced at this point that yugioh in their world isnt a card game you buy packs for, but rather some weird hogwash where people just invent the cards they want and play them until someone calls them out on it. Seto is the biggest weeb of this game, there is NO way there's a card in the game he doesnt know about
His effects where tied to however many pieces where in the Graveyard, Kaiba used Soul Release to remove them all then he blasted it with Blue Eyes White Dragon
I want summoned exodia on my nephew in 2020 during the pandemic lol and a couple duos later, I summoned all three Egyptian God cards lol now I am officially retired. Never going to top those games 😂
I've said this on other posts and videos: imagine if Yugi got ahold of Exodia cards again and used them in the final duel against Atem? The first and last duels of the series ended with Exodia. On another note, we were robbed of a duel between Exodia and the Egyptian gods. Ishizu told Kaiba they were stronger than Exodia so we should've seen such a duel. I could see Obelisk and Exodia in a struggle like against Zorc or Ra in its Phoenix mode easily deflecting Exodia's Obliterate attack.
Exodia one of the second strongest compare to the three gods exodia was the very first monster cards to win a duel by gathering the five pieces of the forbidden

Classic Yugi was great. It was my childhood. Back in those days I remember summoning fusion and ritual monsters feels better than winning the duel hha.
Kaiba was so traumatized by that first duel that he was willing commit suicide in his next duel with Yami Yugi in order to win.
mf bout off’d himself in order to have a chance at Pegasus to save his brother and he still gets clapped 😂
Insane monster. I remember the card game you had different parts of exodias body per card.
"Exodia, obliterated" still give me chills🥶
1:30
That conversation is WILD 😶
"Creamin ya!" "Finish YOU off!"
Early Yu-Gi-Oh was pretty sus
I cant believe I earnestly watched this
Didn’t realize until now that the rare Hunter and Gozaburo were the same VA lol
This takes back memories.
"IVE NEVER SEEN THAT CARD BEFORE...WHAT IS THAT" "WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT" great script
Saturday morning cartoons will always live in our hearts - 90 kids
Ah yes, the memories!🙌❤️
“It’s the last monster you’ll ever see my boy” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The build up for this exodia moment was epic when it was live and I was a kid
3:42 He's waited years? The way he's dragging it on I feel like I'm waiting for years!
I still dont understand why no one ever summoned Exodia. I used to play competitive when I was a kid and accidentally drew it on my 2nd turn lol
"Unbelievable it's as powerful as Zorc!"
Later: 8:20
“No way, it’s all over, it’s exodia, it can’t be!”
1:59 did 4 kids just reuse episode 1 footage here?
Reminds me of when they reused Brolys iconic LSSJ pose in both movies.
"Exodia, you defend us, and for that I lock you away. So, could you fight for us again?"
Exodia doesn't question, he just obliterates
I love how Exodia’s first “two” appearances were the same film but flipped. 🤣
so technically he had one less original appearance.
3:57 Kaiba's Vietnam Flashback!!!
They reused the exact same frames from first Exodia summoning for the Joey / Rare Hunter one lmao
Anyone notice how very low and less dramatic Mark Green’s voice was in the beginning?
Dan Green
Why does gozaburo kaiba remind me of Carter Pewterschmidt from family guy?
1:30 ... what..
nice to see you again, Yugi. May Allah bless you all and save you from evils 💎
3:15 Im convinced at this point that yugioh in their world isnt a card game you buy packs for, but rather some weird hogwash where people just invent the cards they want and play them until someone calls them out on it. Seto is the biggest weeb of this game, there is NO way there's a card in the game he doesnt know about
Watching Exodia get summoned was like watching Goku go Super Sayian
2:40 good job 4 kids
I’m assuming he tried to fight back and they decked him in the face and took it anyway?
I said *I'll get it!"
Had no idea Kaiba got obliterated twice lol
"3 SETS OF EXODIA"
disqualified.
How did Kaiba defeat Exodius Necros? What was the secret to it?
His effects where tied to however many pieces where in the Graveyard, Kaiba used Soul Release to remove them all then he blasted it with Blue Eyes White Dragon
@@jamesgriffin7962 Sweet!
My boy, my boy, my boy...
As president of the kaiba corporation i declare that move invalid
I forgot how badly exodia got nerfed in the last season, it really should've had more of an impact
This brings back so much memories
POV: Exodia just lookin at an ant hill
0:44 when the yugioh player didnt bath
I want summoned exodia on my nephew in 2020 during the pandemic lol and a couple duos later, I summoned all three Egyptian God cards lol now I am officially retired. Never going to top those games 😂
the fact it got 700k within one month off this old episode tells u fans still lit
Kaiba step father can't play duel monsters due to he relies too much on one monster
Nah, Silent magican goes hard.
I haven’t seen this since elementary school 🤯
So exodia lost at the end? Was there ever a rematch
Kaiba: No one has ever been able to call him ,
Me: why the hell are there so MANY exodia builds to one turn end me..?
I forgot how overdramatic 90s shows used to be 😂
The great defender of Egypt exoooooooodia!!!😂😂😂
Kaiba still have Exodia nightmares 😴👾
little question, which is the strongest card in this cartoon🤷 at the end, as a child I remember those three cards of the Egyptian gods?? Tnx
…now that we’re grown this show was kinda silly man lolll
Exodia one of the second strongest compare to the three gods exodia was the very first monster cards to win a duel by gathering the five pieces of the forbidden
You mean like gate guardian? Yugi did say it was in the same class as exodia.
@@wilFluffball yes they are but exodia was the first to be summon while gate guardian was second to appear in the anime
imagine if Yugi was able to take the Exodia cards from the rare hunter
