Planina is a group of singers and instrumentalists from the Front Range of Colorado, including several members born in Eastern Europe or with Eastern European heritage. They perform traditional and contemporary folk music from the Balkans, Russia, the Caucasus, and beyond. They were drawn together by a fascination with the haunting harmonies, driving rhythms, and expressiveness of music from this part of the world.
