I always found powdered sugar or corn starch drys the fondant out so I try to avoid using as much of this as possible. But can I ask why you covered in ganache, then buttercream & then fondant? I thought the ganache & then fondant would have been enough?

Thanks for the great tip to freeze the layers first, before working with them. Always struggle with crumbling wondering what I've been doing wrong👍👍👍👍❤🎂🎂

You can also drop a little water on some fondant and make a paste to repair holes or splits in your cake which is much better.

Omg! Now my cakes won’t sag! They would start off beautiful then begin to look warped 😭 ganache is the key 😏 thanks!

How did I never consider this before? I had the worst failure years ago on a tiered square cake with fondant and everything went wrong! I almost completely quit, I vowed never to do a square cake again, & im not unskilled with cake. This is an amazing idea! I might have to do a square cake now just to get over the disaster experience from years ago. I've used ganache to encase fresh berries from weeping in the middle of a cake, but never considered this idea. Thank you for this epiphany moment!

Before you cut or smooth out the fondant, you may want to use something to elevate the cake first. Also, before applying the fondant, it's better to check for air bubbles & pop them before applying.
