    I have a weird matrix here where instead of subtracting the green from the red, I had to add them together to get the Det. this is why I hate math, MAKE UP YOUR MIND!!!! If i were in an exam i woulda be screwed!

    • @ADARSHSINGH-dw6ij
      @ADARSHSINGH-dw6ij 7 лет назад

      No......its only for 3×3.

    • @AdityaMhatre13
      @AdityaMhatre13 6 лет назад

      Yes,this is applicable for 4x4 too, but you have to enter the signs accordingly

    • @stayfrost04
      @stayfrost04 4 года назад

      I know its a 3 year old comment but if anyone is still wondering then No, this method will **not** be valid. This only works for 3x3 matrix and is known as "Rule of Sarrus". There's one method for 2x2 matrix which is even easier thought. Suppose your 2x2 matrix is
      a b
      c d
      Then determinant will be = (a times d) - (b times c).
      For example : Take a 2x2 matrix
      3 5
      2 6
      Then determinant = (3x6) - (5x2)
      = 18 - 10
      = 8
      Hope this helps :)

    • @jeremyp3772
      @jeremyp3772 8 лет назад

      +kvrule To answer your question.. long long ago a mathematician, or a few of them, sat down and wondered about other ways to get the same answer to a problem, this was one of the ways. it works because someone already did the trial and error process to get the formula correct which gets the answer correct. LOTS AND LOTS of man hours.
