    This whole film is beautiful. I love how Roz gradually sounds more human as the film goes on. And the scene on the ship where Brightbill tells Roz he love her and wakes her up always makes me tear up.

    The Wild Robots is basically an apology from Dreamworks for creating Megamind 2. And I accept

    • @ericsart6474

      Megamind 2 was Dreamworks tv not Dreamworks animation. It was made for tv/streaming. The quality was not intended to be top notch.

      There is no Megamind 2.
      There is a TV movie to pilot a TV series, but that hardly qualifies as an actual sequel.

    10:30 - They actually address this in the book! It turns out that the animals DO have one universal language; different species just have different “accents”.
    Still, the goose having a partial fox accent is interesting to think about. 😂

    • @deondrex18k
      @deondrex18k 2 месяца назад +4

      Well that makes sense irl since animals seem to communicate to each other while us humans can't understand them besides like babies sense that's the closest humans will be to their animalistic or primal selves

    • @CervusLavandula
      @CervusLavandula 2 месяца назад +5

      @deondrex18k Let’s not forget animals don’t have a language like ours. Most of them communicate with movements or sounds. Non-human animals rarely understand each other in real life, and even then, they only understand some signalling sounds or physical language, not everything. It’s just when it comes to symbiotic or closely related species.
      If you put a dog and a cat in the same room, the dog might interpret the cat’s movements as playful when it’s actually irritated, for example.
      Even whales from different oceans have different “dialects” and sometimes they don’t understand each other despite being the same species.
      So no, different species don’t understand each other unless they have some symbiosis going on or they’re close like dogs and foxes.

    I'm surprised you seemed confused about why Brightbill wouldn't have lived long because he's a runt. The term runt is used to describe the smaller, weaker offspring of an animal, and they usually die of sickness or neglect because the parents favor the stronger offspring over them (especially in bird families). They also can get picked off by predators for being smaller and weaker.
    That's why his story is so emotional and wonderful, and Longneck kept talking about how his life is a GIFT and that he "wasn't suppose to get this far". He was DESTINED to die, even if he never lost his family, which is what makes it so sweet and inspiring that he pulled through and learned how to survive thanks to Roz.
    Also you're the first person I've seen actually dislike how Brightbill acted to Roz and frame him as a bad person for it.... You need to understand grief better, girlie. He was literally rejected by his species, nearly drowned, eaten, and learned out of NOWHERE that his family was killed off (accidentally) by the one person he viewed as his mother. It's NOT an easy situation for a kid to just accept, his anger is natural and understandable.
    But he still let her help him, he still loved her, he didn't hold some weird grudge throughout the movie. He just needed time to accept himself and come to terms with his situation. You shouldn't villainize a grieving kid, Sophie (not mad at you though, It just caught me off guard).

      exactly.. regardless of how disrespectful and ungrateful Brightbill was at that scene, he was just a "teen" and still learning his emotions and those feelings were valid. We said terrible stuff to our parents but do we really mean it?

    A runt is when an animal has a litter and one is too small , so , instead of focusing on the one that's small , they focus on their bigger ones and leave the small to die as is nature

    An instant animated sci-fi classic worthy of being mentioned alongside WALL-E, The Iron Giant, and the Spider-Man: Spider-Verse movies, the best animated studio film since Soul, and a strong contender for the best DreamWorks movie ever made. It's a reminder of just how rich and rewarding an animated movie can be beyond existing as a diversion for children, and also worth seeing on as big of a screen as you can find.

    14:19 That is not a crocodile, but a pike. A type of large, predatory freshwater fish found in various parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. It is known for its long, slim body, sharp teeth, and elongated head. They are commonly found in lakes, rivers, and ponds, particularly in areas with plenty of submerged vegetation or structures like rocks and fallen logs. Pike are ambush predators, often waiting patiently in vegetation before lunging at their prey. These fish are carnivores and primarily feed on other fish, though they may also eat amphibians, small birds, or even small mammals if the opportunity arises.

    And that's what I think is so cool about it, neither does Roz, she starts her existence completely removed and void of her purpose, causing her to have to adapt and become more alive simply because of what's around her and nothing else.

    I think that was my biggest complaint with the film honestly, that Rozums were never made to go wild, yet the inability to differentiate between animals and people right from the get-go would seem to be a major flaw in avoiding this. I think, at least for my own peace of mind, I'd like to believe that normally, Roz would just see animals and consider them as animals, but because she had to learn from the crab in order to climb that cliff in the opening, it forced her to give them a closer look and realize the life inside of them.

    It's a shame this gorgeous, heartbreaking movie is only getting so much love now that it's been put on digital. It wasnt even in theaters for a month before getting put on streaming!!
    But it's definitely deserving of all the praise and enjoyment it's received! It made me cry a lot- Dreamworks doesn't miss when they make genuinely good films like this! ;;
    I really love how the art style is very similar to Puss In Boots The Last Wish, which makes sense because this movie uses hundreds of digitally painted backgrounds!!

    Sophie, I was surprised to see you watching this, given how you have problems with Dreamworks about copyright infringement. Therefore, it was very pleasing to see that you were going all the emotions that everyone was feeling, including me. From the moment I saw the teaser for it, I knew it would impact a lot since I’m an animal lover. What Longneck and Fink said about Brightbill was true, if he was raised by his biological mother, he would’ve never been able to make it this far since nature favors those who are strong. With Roz doing everything she could to raise him, a handful of other creatures has seen and felt something that they themselves never had. As a result, by living among the animals, she had become more human than any of us. I will never forget this film, even when I’m old. 🥲
