I traveled Nebraska for several years after college as a bank examiner and fell in love with the state. You should get up to Fort Robinson and Chadron some time. Enjoyed this vid.
Well done! I’m a Gering local and frequent monument trail hiker. My favorite time of day to hike is around sunset. If you ever make it back here, note that you can walk the summit road on the west side of the monument after 5pm. More stunning scenery and breathtaking sun sets.
Another good video: informative, refreshing, encouraging. America the beautiful! Thanks for taking us to a place where we can only imagine the pioneers who crossed those plains and opened up this country - from sea to shining sea. What brave souls they were!
Guys, Nebraska folks don’t generally talk about how beautiful it really is. The next thing you know more people will start moving there. Maybe even from California! Shhhh.
The military drug us to Eastern Nebraska 30 years ago and we never left. Nebraska is beautiful in it's own way, the new slogan "Honestly, it's not for everyone" kinda sums it up. Nebraska is definitely not a Colorado, California, or Florida but we love it here. Enjoy your stay.
Glad you finally made it to my great State of Nebraska! Yes it's pretty flat if you stay on i80 but there's also alot of beautiful places to see. Nebraska also has plenty of free boondocking throughout the state.
Holiday greetings. I don't care how you slice it??? I'm always amazed tagging along in your travels, it's never boring!! And the bonus, watching your beautiful pair of happy dogs running along and chasing each other, and every once in awhile one of them looks over or back at you with pleasure in their eyes!!! Just beautiful !! Thanks for sharing your adventure! Be safe, stay healthy! Toledo. 40° dry.
Lovely scenery. We’re in full lockdown here in England and have been for a month until today - I’m not sure what tier we are now in but I believe some more shops can open today and you can have two visitors in your ‘bubble’ in your house. So as can imagine, your vlogs are an anticipated distraction! Daisy knows no difference and has no time for social distancing regs - she’s just glad to have Mum home all the time! 🐈⬛
One of the nicest things about Harvest Hosts is that if you send any money there, you get to spend it the way you want to. Whether you buy fruit, wine or anything else you have something that enriches your life and trip. I absolutely hate paying 10-20 dollars for a piece of dirt for one night (especially if it is unlevel). Harvest Hosts give you ann opportunity to try new things, taste good things, and slow down a little.
I love your videos because you give such detailed history from the areas you are visiting in. You are the first one to actually tell how Scott’s Bluff got its name. Beautiful photography and excellent narration! Hope you are somewhere warm now that it is the first of December!!
My husband's and my first house was in that little neighborhood right east of the monument. We live in Lincoln now, but my parents and father -in- law still live in Scottsbluff/ Gering.
I've just submitted my support for you two via Patreon. I grew up in Nebraska, but I was born in Kansas, and my family frequently returned to Mankato, KS to be with family and friends. I now live in Topeka, and I admire both states. I have very-much enjoyed how you both reviewed my two States. If you ever travel thru Kansas again, I'll suggest that you visit the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson (if you enjoy NASA space history), Also visit Salina, KS (home to the businesses of Acoustic Sounds and Quality Record Pressings). The latter is one of the largest Vinyl pressing plants in the entire country. I'm old-school, and I still prefer vinyl over any other media formats. I have friends there, and I'd be happy to make introductions.
ANDYYYYYY!!!!!!! We can’t believe you watch! We sure do miss you and the fam, let’s get together while we’re back in FL for a bit. And yes, the dogs and/or the van are definitely the stars of this channel lol
We lived in Scottsbluff next to Gehring for a couple of years and enjoyed taking friends and family to the national monument. A couple of years ago my brother and I went back to Scottsbluff and revisited the monument. We took a shuttle up to the top and walked down to our car. About 20 miles from Scottsbluff National Monument is Chimney Rock, another important landmark along the Oregon Trail.
What a beautiful place! Lovely video...the soft colors of the landscape, especially in the fading golden light added to what seemed a very tranquil and fascinating place. Go Nebraska... adding that place to our bucket list! Thank you! Safe travels.
Great video!! Barbi and I have been discussing how we typically haven't explored those off the beaten path locations that are really special in their own right. You demonstrated that our conversation was on point. Also, your video does a great job of inspiring others to travel to Scott's Bluff and places like it. Keep up the wonderful work and we look forward to seeing you "on the road". LarryAndBarbi
Beautiful country! You guys have the best RUclips channel that is dedicated to RV life and travel. My Wife and I are just beginning to start look at RVs. We plan to be at the Tampa RV show, just to learn. We won't buy until August to October 2021. Hope to see some of the places you have stopped.
Wow. Beautiful. I have never been to Nebraska... now it is on my bucket list. The dogs seemed to love it at the harvest host. That was fun to watch as they ran free. Happy Holidays to you both! 💕
I totally agree that the midwest gets overlooked by most traveling RUclipsrs. Thank you fro adding in Nebraska. we were truck drivers and drove across it and Wyoming quite a bit. We will be visiting there once we get into our rig full-time.
thanks for taking us along.. those were very beautiful views from the bluff.. i cant believe the dogs didnt find any quail running around the farm!!! my shorthair might not have ate the goose but she would have chased it into the next county!! LOL
Looks like a great Harvest Hosts! Although it would be a fight to keep our Lab out of that pond... hike looked fabulous to and nice that it was dog friendly. Thanks for the history on this monument - you always do a great job!
I love Nebraska, except for those pesky Tornados that hit. Eastern Nebraska, along the river, is rolling hills and cornfields. Very different and very pretty.. tho I can happily avoid Omaha and Lincoln. Always happy when your videos pop up! Happy to see Madly looking healthy!
Wow, Scotts Bluff is beautiful. Great that you were able to stay at the HH for a second day. We have HH membership that we haven't used (yet). Hopefully next summer. Thanks for the great video!
Another great video you guys! Your channel and Long Long Honeymoon are my favorites on RUclips; the reason why is, you don't make your travels all about you, it's more about the journey and what you visit when you are there. I prefer greatly this type of content. Thank you.
I always enjoy your videos and the way you include very informative information of the places you visit. Love your videos and you guys. Safe travels and have a Merry Christmas
We have our annual trip out west coming up the spring. Curious what time of year you were in Nebraska? I heard the wind there for an RV can be very very treacherous in the spring. May is our only available time for vacation due to my wife's work. We've encountered great weather out west and we've also encountered snow it's a crapshoot out West that time of year. I really want to drive across Nebraska on Highway 80. S.C to Wyoming but I hope to make Idaho this time. Not last year but the year before we made Wyoming through Colorado but we also run into a lot of snow and ice in Wyoming. May is a very wonderful time out west. NOT That's what we got vacation time and I'm not complaining so many people in this world have so little. South Carolina is a beautiful state and I would never never ever move . Put my bones in that Dixie ground. The West is truly beautiful in a different way . The beautiful things that we've seen pictures and your videos just don't do it justice . You do a wonderful job!!! I apologize for the length late at night watching your videos just got carried away. Please take care especially for that old Ford that's been dragging your ass around this country. LOL
Very nice episode. We recently visited Independence Rock in Wyoming, another famous landmark that was part of the Oregon trail. Me too! I often try to put my mind around the harsh conditions, health problems, death on the trail, Indian attacks, lack of food and water, and the pure determination of the migrants going West. It was brutal I bet.
@@domdev707 I live in bluffs(that’s what we call the city of Scottsbluff) and yeah if you live here it just become second nature seeing it every day out the window
@@domdev707 Unfortunately, most people passing through only ever see what's off of I80, the flattest part of the state, but north of i80 is absolutely beautiful. Especially the Sandhills.
All I remember about Nebraska via i80 is corn fields and oil wells. However, I do remember acres and acres of blooming sunflowers that was an awesome sight. I’d love to see Scott’s Bluff and if I’m ever in that area, I will definitely stop. Thank your for another fun video. May you make it home to family safe and healthy.
Just wondering if the old wagon trail or the ruts made by the wheels was still evident on the ground there. A nice charming video again. Keep up the good work. We would like to see more of the views and trail though so you could add more B-roll
That was really interesting about Scotts bluff I think that's the 1st time I've seen the one pup sleeping while in the van.the 1 that is red and white. It was great seeing your dogs out running around the had a goid time..
Wow, just wow! As I sit here in a snowstorm watching your video, listening to the wistful keyboard tracks and learning something new about Nebraska... I just want to hitch up our travel trailer and GO! You guys are so inspiring and produce wonderful travelogues that we love to watch. Hope your Thanksgiving was fantastic wherever you were/are! Safe travels!! 😎
Thanks! Great view and review of the Scotts Bluff area. I need to go visit this passed-over part of our country. Maybe next year on our way from Texas to Custer SP. Safe travels.
Another great video from my favorite RV channel. RVer TV did Scotts Bluffs not too long ago, but he did the drive. You guys doing the hike really showcased this great monument. Thanks.
We love Harvest Hosts! We really enjoyed Scott's Bluff as well when we were there last year on our way to work at the winery. It is as a really cool hike to the top. You guys really capture the awesomeness of everywhere you visit. Thanks for sharing!
Gering was pronounced correctly. You will love the Sandhills! Research the Ogallala Aquifer that is below the hills. Niobrara river is worth checking out. Thanks for the vid!
Beautiful photography! Was this shot mostly with the Canon? The setting sun scenes of your fur babies playing in the fields at the Harvest Host were amazing.
There are many county and city parks in NE that have free water and electric for overnight or up to 3 days. Look for them on IOverlander app or RV Parky. Great video.

I have to keep Nebraska in mind when the temps get a little to hot here in Texas. Scotts Bluff will be on my list.
I know Texas can get hotter but in Nebraska it can still get up to 105 in Scottsbluff where this video is
Madley looking out over the wall was the best part.

My family homesteaded within sight of the Bluffs. Been there many times, but not since the last century!
There is only one rule....don't eat the goose. LOL. As usual, you introduce us to areas that are not covered in every other RUclips RV video. Thanks.
