my neighbor has a 2013 F150 with 195K miles, he was having difficulty in starting, he asked me to take a look, saw you video, did swap , started right away, he went down Oreillys bought a new relay, back in business..Thanks for the tip
Just checked my relay and it fixed my problem. The fuse 27 was not melted so I searched until I found this video. Thanks you saved me a couple of hundos.
This saved me today. My 2013 F 150 would not start and I was pulling my boat! Stuck at a QT gas station with a dead Truck. Watched thus video - 26$ later and I am up and running. Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video..i was extremely stressed when the exact same thing happened to me! I got gas, went to store, and then truck would only crank no start..this was a 20 dollar fuse and boom!!! Started right up..cancelled my mechanic appointment..thank you again..subscribed
Thanks for the video. My 2010 F150 and 2013 Raptor had the same issue. On your video, my problem was the small yellow 10amp fuse middle left. Ford has known about this for years. No one has ever gotten hurt so no recall. Made gazzillions in selling tows, new fuel pumps, fuel wire harness and leaving trucks and cars at dealers for weeks! Now instead of a free fix, they wanna charge for a relocation relay- parts & labor!
I've done the relay replacement game, every morning for a couple of months. The permanent solution is to replace the fuel pump control module which is bolted to the back of the rear axle on the driver's side. Due to a design defect in the way the original module is mounted, it corrodes over time and the electronics inside the module gradually fail. Replacing this module is much easier and cheaper than replacing a fuel pump. If a shop replaces the fuel pump, it may replace this module as part of the process, instead of just replacing this module first to see if it fixes the problem - a lot of people don't realize that a good working fuel pump control module is what controls the operation of the fuel pump, and that Ford fuel pumps are pretty reliable and tend to last for the life of the vehicle).
Thank you for posting! I added fog lights to my 2010 F150 XL 4.6L and I pulled that #8 fuse/relay to test the lights. When I put it back, I accidentally put it in the #9 spot, so my truck would crank but no start. As soon as you got to the point where you show the location of the fuel pump fuse/relay, it clicked to me and I ran out to check, and sure enough, I moved it to the #8 spot and it cranked right up. I still have the rest of my Saturday now! Thank you!!!
Thank You! Your video was the second that came up when my 2010 F150 wouldn't start at the grocery today. Swapped out the Fuel Pump relay (same #8) with the towing relay (#6) and she turned over immediately. Went and got a replacement relay. Saved me a lot of time and effort. Much appreciated!
I feel you brother, I had the same thing happen fuse 27 was burnt, an ford had one kit, I had to solder wire from 27 an put in 70, with new 20 amp fuse. Mine is a 2014 5.0lt f-150.
You should get the fuse relocation kit for #27 fuse. It may not be burned out now but it may in the future. Kit is $30 from the dealer. Install is less than 1 hour.
Ours did the same thing....I think there is a ford mod for that. Ford did the upgrade for free. The relay is undersized if I remember correctly. Thanks for your video
hermano...if you didn't make this video I would have been stuck and had to call out of work get a tow truck and bring it to the dealer ...I swapped the wiper relay for the fuel pump and in 30 seconds later truck is on God bless you familia
I have a 2009 ford f150 king ranch. It wont start at all. I put the fuel pump module and nothing. I checked all the fuses and there all good. What can it be???
just bought a used 2014 ford f150. get it home and go upstairs to review the bad deal i got with the contract. come down to take the truck to autozone to get touchup paint. just cranks. no start. try again.. cranking,,,, eventually starts.. hmmm not a good feeling after dropping 24 grand. go to autozone, come outside, same thing..just cranks... eventually starts. bringin it back to dealer tommrow. even if its a fuse issue im going to try to get them to replace hard parts like fuel pumps and spark plugs. try to get some money back for the shit deal i got on truck
@@felixyindira I didn't get back to him quick enough, so he ended up getting it towed into a mechanic shop. They told him that the F150 Ecoboost is notorious for flooding in cold weather and the engine was flooded bad enough that they where going to have to change the spark plugs and crankcase oil, which was contaminated with fuel as well. So, I'm not sure as a lot of mechanics are good at increasing the size of bills these days as well. I guess we'll find out when he gets his truck back. It was -35C when he tried to start the truck the first time and I don't know if the block heater was plugged in or not?
Thankyou so much , we had to be towed , cracks but no gas ., I am nervous too... so I will try to locate the fuse box just like you say , and hope it works., I have a 2003 ford F-150 .. so I have to go look in the manuel to see where the fuse box is ., thanks so much
Ive had similar problem with my expedition. Turned out the socket had burned/melted just enough to make a bad connection to the relay. The relay was ok. It was the socket. Just one prong was damaged.
Very, very cool and informative video! Thanks for that, but now I have the HUGE problem that the tank was empty and the engine went out. I refueled 20 liters with the canister of GASOLINE ( is a 2.7L Ecoboost gasoline engine from 2018 ) and now the Ford simply does NOT start anymore although EVERYTHING else works as always; ((( Do you or anyone else maybe have an idea how to get my Ford F150 running again ??? 1000 THANKS to you already. LG Frank
I don't know if this will help ., but they said to check under the steering wheel ( where the handle is for the Hood release) some have a little compartment there ., and on other models , its on the passenger side under the glove compartment (on the side wall, on the right) , where someone would put their leg., I am no expert , this is just from searching around to find mine!! so good luck

Welp, none of this worked for me. My truck today, out of the blue after going out for lunch, didn’t want to start. Turns over, fires up just enough to run but barely, and after a few seconds it would shut off. I don’t hear the fuel pump running, or priming with the key turn, nothing.
@@adid5269 My issue was the fuel pump control module. It’s mounted on the bottom of the bed, above the spare tire. If you’re having the same problem I described, try replacing that. It’s something like $60.

Revise los fusible del compartimento del motor.. la caja de fusibles que va a la par del motor los números 66 y 68 esos controlan el flujo de gasolina o diésel
Same. My 2013 died on my way to work, had to have it towed to a shop because I was late for work. $140 later and all was well. Ford makes a kit to move the fuse to fuse 70 that takes a cartridge fuse that has better contact. Costs about 20 bucks.
I see a lot of people say relay when they are talking about a fuse. The relocation kit is for a fuse not a relay.
Well if people get the main idea and fix their problem that's enough for me
Thanks for watching 😉
Did your engine try to start for a long time before you changed the relay? I thought it was my fuse but it’s not melted. I’m going to try this today
It's the relay. not the fuse. he was correct. in many cases it burns a fuse also, but its definitely the relay.
