1934 is still the hottest year on record in the US, it's real simple global warming would cause the ice caps to melt, they are the same as they were 100 years ago, just go look at pictures of shore lines from 100 years ago, they haven't changed, Carbon does not determine temp.
When I studied the carbon cycle at school many decades ago, we were taught that carbon lags temperature by 600 years. So, whatever is changing carbon levels now happened 600 years ago. Government departments may be good, but they're not THAT good.
