After seeing the gimmick and then seeing how much time was left in the video, I was sure it was going to lose its humor soon. I stand pleasantly mistaken.
Christ! I'm an accordion player, and know how heavy that thing is, especially the 120 bass button one that he has. To play it standing up is difficult enough, but to do stuff like that... like a boss!
You are right. Aren't the digital bajans lighter? Those that sing and play at the same time usually play the smaller bajans that are great to accompany the voice and be played expressively.

lisa8220 I have never heard of Igor Rasteryaev before. I'll have to try some of his music some day. But the difference between a Bayan and a Garmoshka are usually in how they look. A Bayan will be big, bulky and have a lot of buttons, a Garmoshka will be ranging from Medium to Near the size of a Concertina, and the amount of buttons bay be 25 by 25, or 8 by 8. Also a Bayan is Chromatic whereas the Garmoshka is Diatonic

Apart from some silly, if not stupid comments just below, I must say I thouroughly enjoyed this bit of Victor Borge- like parody. For those who criticise, just try playing one air on the accordion with 4 or five-note chords, while even ATTEMPTING to do anything else, then give us a call. Vodka is an institution in Russia, so it was very intereting to see some (red wine?) "pumped up" at the end of the sketch. Bravo!

Somehow, I find this hilarious, and yet I do not understand a single thing he says. He uses such widespread music, in a manner to deliver a joke with a punchline all nations can understand. Alcohol and drunkenness.
So clearly, the great common amongst man is the ability to find various chemical compounds to alter mood and behavior. The whole world should just get drunk simultaneously for about an hour or three perhaps?
