- Street Life on Skid Row Los Angeles Homeless Encampments with Drugs and Trash piling up it seems like we have no real solutions to the homeless crisis. Drug Use is out in the open here with very few cops patrol this area even though Police Headquarters is 1 block west and is right in the center of skid row.

This is so hard to watch. I can’t stop crying. I have to help somehow. This has inspired me so much, and I have so much gratitude for the life that I have. We need to be better.

I lived most my life since childhood to adult in California, I used too pass threw those areas a lot, I’ve never seen really how bad things have gotten, Los Angeles has been known as the city of angels…. These scums of so called city councilmen and leaders ,are an embarrassment , instead of trying to improve the city they just make it worse. And the reality is that they don’t give a shit. Is really sad.
The irony is that they make people believe they will do something to help and often times do help by providing “free” stuff which only enables the dependency behavior.
That is why others flock to LA, SF, and other trash liberal Democ Rat cities.
It’s the conservative Republicans who really care because they impose a policy of each person uplifting themselves. People cannot continuously carry others all the time.

I lived down there. At the midnight mission when I first came to LA. Didn't know where I was at just heard it was a shelter that was coed. Yeah it was me plus 1. About 2 months later I received a housing voucher and now 3 years later I'm still in LA and haven't seen that place since. But watching you video took me back. As if I was there. It's an obstacle. But diamonds do lie down there even in the mist of the turmoil. Just make sure you use it for the right. Peace.

Critical social justice theory is pushing the narrative of homeless, working-class, race-based and gender conflicts nationwide that the elite are deliberately using to bring down the infrastructure.
What can we do? Keep thinking out loud on these channels and exercising your 1st Amendment and not all this political correctness on steroids. Be prepared!

They sell tarps that are 20+ft x 300ft made for covering camping sites. I've used 150ft x 30ft a couple times to cover our camping site from the rain while up north and I tell you it's not easy to hang it properly even with trees everywhere... nevermind in a concrete jungle.

The worst act many states committed years ago was close the state run mental institutions. All these people with mental challenges were dumped onto the street. They couldn’t afford their meds & their mental health continued to decline.
This doesn’t account for all the homeless but for a large chunk of them.
This homeless & poverty cycle is extremely difficult to leave. It’s like a downward spiral.
Meanwhile, JPS continues to allow thousands of illegals into the country, to bleed our resources. Why doesn’t this government help the homeless American citizens out of their download spiral before they shovel money into a bunch of illegals! This is disgusting! America has become a disgraceful country! They take better care of these illegals than they do their own citizens!

My daughters father lives like this in Silverlake. He chooses to. Drugs and mental illness is a factor. He believes he is on a mission from God. Who knows, perhaps he is right. A lot of these people were homeless Hollywood youth who didn’t take advantage of the many services offered. I did and never looked back. There is help if you want out….

If you look at the video they walk past homeless shelters. There's homeless in front of the shelters. No doubt many of these people choose it because they don't want to give up their drugs.

I’ve toured a few but people mostly want payment to talk which I do understand it’s private space.
they need to build section 8 housing like Atlantic city did get them off the streets...there are plenty of empty buildings make them into studio apartments...the people can try to get jobs if they have a place to wash

Very new to these fascinating types of channels, so - please forgive my naivety with regard my questions and observations !!
1: Where they all have the “tents” in the streets with the huge blue tarps covering them - there are obviously people staying in there. However,
I often see cars (decent) parked right next to them - Do the cars belong to the people who live in the tents ⛺️??
Do “some”of the residents have “day jobs” and are just trying to beat the; “situation and system” by living here, so - that they do not need to pay; rent, mortgages utilities ect ect ??
2: Unfortunately I have noticed that the majority of these “residents” are “BLACK”
in comparison to their “WHITE” neighbours !! Why is this ?? Can someone give me their thoughts and opinions on this ??
3: If this is the case - why is their not more effective emphasis on employment with this particular community when they are kids, and are still in school ?? Why is there not more tax dollars 💵 spent in these “hoods” to ensure that the kids do not end up here ??
The dreams, aspirations and life have been sadly taken away through the needle 💉 with regard these people. I personally think the Government of the day: (Rep and Dem) is solely and personally responsible for this mess !! HOPE is the last thing to die in this life - their HOPE has died a long time a go !!
I honestly think that this seriously needs to be looked at again - and some new; “BIG BOY PANTS” approach needs to be taken here !! Let’s not forget - “back in the day” NYC was voted the most vile violent place to live in - yet the City Fathers took back the streets and now it’s one of the safest, cleanest City’s to visit in the present day !! The tourists are flocking in their millions each year and spending millions. Where are these people who made and worked on these projects now ?? Time to pick up the phone and invite them back to ask them for some advice !!

Inside those tents with blue tarps are sometimes 2-3 tents connected. I have been inside and have seen refrigerator TVs microwaves and generators .
The cars are sometimes visitors but yes mainly are there for the homeless. Some people just do not want to pay rent.
A lot of people here are ex cons and can’t really make it outside of skid row.
Black and white are here and all have similar stories from divorce to drugs.
Thanks for the questions and a lot of people you see are overflow from the homeless housing. So there’s more people inside the apartment buildings that hang around outside.
