Coinciding with Ram Navami, today also marks the last day of campaigning for the first phase of elections which will take place on April 19.
In the first phase, voting will take place in 8 constituencies : Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzzafarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Muradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit.
In Uttar Pradesh, Congress is contesting in 17 seats, Samajwadi Party in 62 seats, and a solitary seat has been given to the Trinamool Congress.
