My parents had this album when I was a child. Over the years (am 54 now) I have carried this album with me from Holland to Canada and around the world. LP, cassette and an angel was able to find it and put it on CD's after the cassettes died. I know every word, every instrument. LOVE it and am absolutly thrilled that my scratched up CD's can now be replaced with this on You Tube. Absolutly best album ever!!
Glen Campbell singing and playing guitar on “MacArthur Park”-now I can die happy. He sings all the songs here I wished I could hear him sing. Bravo and RIP.
Such a fabulous performance-better than even my favorite Richard Harris’ version. Glen looks so lean here…drugs and alcohol have taken their toll. But that voice - what a range!!! and that guitar playing == oh my! Best and underrated performing of my time. And he hit that high note! Two octaves at least!
This is great, Not only a superb guitar player , Glen was also one of the very best singers in the business. At this particular time in Glen's life he was abusing Cocaine as evidenced in his being skinny as a rail. Those multiple divorces, loss of house, huge financial settlements, alimony and child support. These setbacks and disappointments are the contributing factors causing this Ole country boy to want to numb himself. Lots of booze and quality Cocaine was Glen's way of life for so long. Fortunately Glen met his wife Kim who helped him overcome his addictions.
Yes. What a wonderful voice. I never got to see him as a ten-year-old to I was older. Because my dad wouldn't watch that. I saw him five times on his Goodtime hour. He was in excellent shape
I Am Blown Away!!!!! Watched the whole thing and am cheering, crying ..... so many emotions right now. Glen Campbell was beyond talented. By his own admission, during this era he drank and smoked heavily, and did coke. And yet he was simply stellar onstage. I cannot fathom how much more incredible he would have been had he been clean. Thank you so very much for uploading this!!
Very short period of his life considering he live 280 something. You need to think about it. Before you start talking. Glen Campbell was famous at the age of 35. What were you doing then? He had a TV show at age 35. The ending of the evening was with the song called quote" try a little kindness quote" try a little kindness
@@susanmarshall817 You need to re-read my entire post slowly, because my praise of Glen doesn't warrant such a response. You totally misunderstood my meaning.
This is fantastic, wonderful, brilliant. I also watched all six parts here on RUclips. Thank you ChristopherSyn. Praying for Glen, his family and for a miracle.
This great concert was on TV late last night but I only caught a small part of it. Fortunately, thanks to the six parts here on You Tube I'm able to watch the show in it's entirety. Thank you so much ChristopherSyn. It's so tragic that such a talented performer has been stricken with alzheimers but than you Glen for all the good music you will leave as your legacy.
MacArthur Park.. such an iconic song.. but that's Jimmy.....and he even changed the arrangement for Glen,, (and Glen even screwed the lyrics up.. but I won't mention where..it really doesn't matter anyhow).. he was just so good...!!!
Consider that Glen would occasionally change ups lyrics slightly to suit himself. Earlier in this concert, he changes up Soliloquy from Carousel to make it more personal. He was a one take wonder in the Wrecking Crew. otoh, tis human to err, to forgive is divine. ;) His talent was incomparable. This whole concert, Parts1-6, pure genius. Best rendition of MacArthur Park by anybody!!! :)
MacArthur Park ,, oh my god!!! Glen Campbell a great singer, complete artist
Fantastic! And a great family man!
