Isaac Brock mentioning The Master. Two of my favorite things!
Also dissing hunger games.
....the only thing isaac brock hates more than shallowness is hunger games.......i'm starting to feel it too now
I love this guy. He can say anything because you know he’s just being honest.
❤️
ever see the title of a youtube video and have to watch it immediately, regardless of what`s in the video? Like, even if your house was burning down, you would still internalize that you need to check out this video later?
Was thinking the same thing
jesus relax
Except Hunger Games.. lol
2020 needs a Modest Mouse Album to help us out. Issac come on man..
2021 but its happening!
What a disappointment
@@nathanwilliams3877 the golden casket is awesome
This could be my favorite interview ever. 1:07
hes a major player in the cowboy scene.
Goes to the reservation.....
@@gcolovich3393 goes to the desert fires

hafta die you will have to diey i-ey iieh!!!
That was a whole minute and a half of backhanded compliments.
That’s Portland the homeless talk down to you too
Why is this popping up into peoples feeds now? There is not many records I have listened to more than Lonesome Crowed West and when I was in middle school in 2003, 8th graders were allowed to put in a small quote in the year book and I went with a lyric from “Edit The Sad Parts.”
With my MM fandom stated, I feel comfortable saying that Isaac’s thoughts on Phillip Hoffman probably didn’t need to be shared with anyone.
And I probably don’t need to share my thoughts on PSH but I’m going to anyways. I’m still sad we are deprived of seeing Hoffman appear in the works of Paul Thomas Anderson. The diversity he showed in those roles starting with that asshole gambler in Hard Eight ragging on Jimmy Gator at the craps until his straight up GOAT role in The Master is absolutely insane.
And there you have it...
That was actually insightful, informative, and entertaining. I laughed, I cried, and I died a little bit inside.
I ended up watching all of the movies he mentioned (except for hunger games, of course) because of this video. They were all amazing, love Liza destroyed me for a couple days, happiness is the most fucked up shit I have ever seen
love liza is one of my favorite movies, and mr brock is one of my favorite songwriters
Please just give us another album. Please.
soon
He's been working on his new one since 2010.
John Kaitlyn its out now. sure u kno
Yeah, what he said!
@@garbagi0 Haha 5 years later and now waiting again!
That nail-polish
a groupie might have done that to him.
thanks
me too. something like that.
No not a groupie haha, he actively puts nail varnish on his guitar fingers!
I love the he brought up love liza , such an underrated and great movie
is there a reason he’s talking about this on camera .. it reminds me of when they interviewed ja rule after 9/11 to see what he thought about it
I watched the movie where Phillip Seymore huff's airplane glue years ago! I forgot about that one! What's the name again? The Master was amazing. God's Pocket as well. The guy was one of the best. Sure miss watching his performance. Some of us love life so much, we are so overwhelmed with it we're not able to handle it. Usually these people are artistic. That's why creativity is so underrated. It transcends space & time. It touches us all in our own unique & individual ways yet, at the same time it is the vehicle that travels those unseen conduits to connect us. CREATE.
Love Liza is the movie
Love Liza fucked me up as a 13 year old.
After watching this, all I can think of is the hunger games.... I should go watch that.
ISAAAAAACCCCC I love you
You tell em Issac
I was there that day and am so jealous.
I like that Isaac can talk about stuff in a matter-a-fact way, a lot of musicians know their music or the music they like or music in general and that's pretty much it but Isaac (and the band in general) seem to have an appreciation for media and pop culture in general and this comes through in the music. "Don't need none of all that Mad Max BULLSHIT!" "In heaven everything is fine" and of course 'The Moon and Antarctica'.
David Lynch & Isaac Brock would approve..
I live in the town this interview was taken in, and the show at the Ommegang was BAD ASS!!!! Brand New and Jack Turner fucked shit up!!!!! ntm Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown got everything
What town is it?
Cooperstown
I am still a fabulous entertainer!
Hos voice is a young Mr hat
"Except Hunger Games" lmao, yes.
Hell yeah. Brock knows his movies. 👍👍
What the fuck was the context behind this interview??? 😂😂😂😂
Omme Gang on tap? Where is this place?!
+Anthony Coburn my first MM show was at brewery ommegang
It’s at Ommegang lol
If He ever loses his voice he can hire Andy Dick.
*FLOAT ON*
Nice brews back there!
Great but why
i would literally die for him
🤔
Get some help.
Duvel ftw
Why is he talking about PSH and not screaming?
Myles Coyne because its an interview where people act like adults and ask each other questions......you do realize that Isaac is just like everybody else when he's not on stage right?
@@looshkin66 jeez it's just a joke.
Super believable seemed like his true self 😅
New movie coming out with Phillip Seymor Hoffman.Always weird when they are dead yet new movie .I hope Phillip Seymor Hoffman knew this .. ...www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0001/0001_01.asp We all have a date with forever.Question is are you ready ?
What? Chicken..bread..toast...
Man... I thought that lisp was just like purposely done while singing
Happiness is for sure disturbing
Same with Artists or Painters or anything really? Is what it is and really there’s a lot more sadness in these people than anything
Most notably? Van Gogh, fell in love with a prostitute and she was involved with another and mistakenly? Out of love? He cut his ear off and sent it to her to establish his devotion to her
I love Isaac, but that was utter non sense
I love Isaac too, but thought that he made perfect sense. strange.
lol thx ike
Hunger Games makes me fart...a lot.
Particularly? I’m not completely aw’ed or impressed with a certain actor, when in fact I respect each in their own performances? But I don’t think it should be flaunted as it is? Money by definition? Is greed! Stupid really? I think it’s recycled dirty paper or garbage plastic? Pointless and it’s not worth death or anything that follows with it
Beef puree
Not liking the hate on The Hunger Games, same with Twilight, whatever gets people reading again, especially young people and the movies are decent.
+Indie Queen I have this mixed feeling thing about - specifically - using Hunger Games to get young people to read. My stepson (who was Not a fan of reading) was given these books to read by his teacher - at the same time I happened to be reading them. I saw so many levels of depth in these incredibly easy to read and consume books. He was drawn in, and it gave us endless hours of conversation about not just the story, but the societal ramifications beyond the obvious action - and their corresponding implications in the real world. Real critical thinking kinda stuff! And yet... and yet... it bugged me deeply that as a 3rd grade student he was being exposed to such violent, terrible imagery. I couldn't really complain or judge - I was in 4th grade when I read both "Animal Farm" and Vonnegut's "Bluebeard" however... well, like I said. Mixed feelings. So I just took the opportunity to try to build on what was happening and expand his awareness outward beyond the "hook" of the books.
It isn't good just because it's a book, both books are terribly written and their plots are for angsty 14 year old girls, hell there are probably much better novels for angsty 14 year old girls
Indie Queen the books suck too
The reason they get shat on is because they lack philosophical depth. the premise has also been used already by authors who have WAY more depth than say, Suzanne Collins, i.e. George Orwell or Ray Bradbury. The only difference is that they are marketed towards Teens with lackluster writing style.
Indie Queen the Hunger Games books are god awful. Decent for adolescent interest though.
I think modern music is degrading as further and further it goes? Zero talent and more expression? Pathetic
Not you sir, or indie or a lot of artists? New age garbage definitely
