I just got a Solo Skiff and I'm excited. What trailer are u using and are they w/ the 8" tires? If so, can they handle the Houston/Gulf Freeway conditions?
Yodaddi Jim I think my tires are 14” but my buddy has a trailer with the smaller tires and he pulls his solo all around from Louisiana to west bay with ease.

Aloha Kagen, great vid. Especially like the aerial drone footage, very nice touch. What drone are you using, and who's controlling it. I'll say it again, that old 2-stroke Johnson 6hp outboard is a classic. I was really tempted to buy a used Evinrude of similar vintage but found a great deal on a 6hp Tohatsu so went that way instead. I envy all the inshore estuary waters you have access to. There used to be a great marsh near my home but developers filled it in and made waterfront luxury homes. Then they privatized the pond keeping us peasants out.
Awe man! I always hate to hear development turn good nature waterways into private tourist traps. I am using the DJI Mavic pro and it actually ya built in software that is called active track and it keeps the camera focused on me and I kind of control it to have it orbit and stuff.
I heard STAR didn't release any tagged redfish in Galveston north of the Texas City Dike due to all the chemical spills there lately.

I'm looking into getting a SoloSkiff, what HP outboard you got on that? I know the manufacturer suggests 5HP max but wanted to know how fast you get and if you know of other people putting bigger outboards.
william eikner I have the Tohatsu 6hp. Most people also run the 6. Personally for how I like to fish if you put a motor on that weighed any more you wouldn’t be able to paddle around as easy. I get around 13-15mph depending on gear load, current and wind. Being that low to the water you feel like you are going even faster.
