I couldn’t agree more, fresh is always better! Great job out there!
It’s cool seeing your dog watching yourself out!
Hey if that motor is a 10 hp, you can replace the carb with one for a 15 hp from Amazon for like $30! That’s the only difference between the 10 and 15, the carb port on the 15 is bored out slightly more.
I always had a thing for solo skiff like yours and I was just in Galveston ( Jamaica Beach) last week and told myself solo skiff is perfect for shredding down the waterways and fishing.
I watch the videos, I really like them ... the channel is international, there is already a Hungarian viewer ... thank you very much, this is new to me.
I’m glad to hear you enjoy the content! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
I have a small Jon boat I treat like I would a kayak or solo skiff, and never thought of using pvc pipe as a runner for the trailer. That’s a fantastic idea and I might have to steal it from you and redo my trailer this weekend!!
When solo skiff first started, they actually made a 17- foot hull that was made out of fiberglass
I try not to like this boat but I keep coming back too it. Looks like so much fun
Why are yo trying not to like it? every time I take it out it really does put a smile on my face when I twist the throttle and get on plane.
Very entertaining video bro! That solo skiff looks awesome!
DRock Fishing I’m glad you enjoy the content. The solos skiff is one fun boat to fish off of
Kagen Fishing I can tell! Keep up the good work bro and stay safe during this pandemic.
The best way to describe it is it is rotomolded which means it is constructed exactly like a kayak which means hot liquid plastic is injected into a mold and that's how a solo skiff Hull is made
Cool video,looks fun.
Looks cool but they didn’t leave any room for my Yeti in the middle. So bizarre to consume all that space with that ginormous hatch/seat. That front bow cover should be smaller too, you need all that space, esp on a small craft. It’s a little on the heavy side too, @ 150 lbs. You can build a micro-skiff in a couple weekends that will come in at less than 90 lbs. However, for the price, if you’re not a builder, this is pretty good. The BOTE Rover is insanely priced compared to this one. Cool review man, she really scoots with that little Johson. Imagine if that whole rig was 65 lbs lighter though! This isn’t a troll post. . . I’m just being practical in my observations. Cannot wait for summer and to get down to PortA and SPI. Winter is such a drag.
Nice Solo Skiff video. Many of the Solo Skiff videos I have watched were either all music or no audio at all! It was great to see a video where you talked about actually using the Solo Skiff, stability, and fish ability. Great video!
MrRedtide001 thank you very much! Hopefully by making these videos it will help people be more informed on the solo before making a purchase.
Love them old 2=stroke twin cylinder Johnsons. Hang on to that beauty, she really pushes that Solo around at a good clip. Which I still had my old 4 hp Johnson.
That's the only motor boat I'd have. If i could afford the boat... Or the motor LOL. Nice one dude !
Great video, nice fish and awesome boat
Looks like a better option then dropping a bunch on a kayak and trolling motor. Like my kayak but this looks like it would be much better for lakes.
Ayee we need to hang out this summer and go fishing!! I’m in League city
Hey buddy, where exactly did you launch from? Thanks man.
Hell yeah buddy. Been thinking of getting one
They are awesome boats man you gotta try it out.
Yah it’s way more stable than I would imagine. Putting a motor on it made it even more stable. I just have to get used to not having a pedal drive to move around
nice bro ..compax n eazy to handle
Nice vid. New subscriber. Solo skiff . . . hmmmm. Been a kayak fisherman on the ocean for 10+ years now. Have had an attitude about motorized craft all this time, but . . . uh, this looks really good. Hmmmmmm . . . I'm thinkin' . . . hmmmm. Price points are higher by the time I get an outboord and other rigging, but . . . uh, hmmmm . . . gotta think about this. Thanks for the vid.
NICE !!!
Hay I'm from texas I have a Chrysler 6.6hp from 1968 I got it from a garage sale just have a bill of sale
I have to fill out 6 peaces of paperwork and wate 6 month to get a bonded tital.
I entered the motor info on the tx wildlife and came up with no info guess it good for me
Hopefully I can get it registered and put it on my solo flex boat lol skiff lol
Hi there! What is the link to the sea deck you spoke about in this video
Great video!! I see the causeway but can’t exactly tell where ur at? Is that swan lake??
What do you use to anchor
Where’s that boat launch at? I want to take my kayak there
Are you in CC, Joe?
nice fishing
Nice. Got to buy me a solo.
hey so i'm considering one and had a few questions maybe you could answer. i fish near mustang island a lot and want to go through the surf and possibly go out to the oil rigs on calm days, curious if you think it can handle it? I also am built like you physically and wanna know how difficult it is to lift for loading and unloading, any insight would be great! tight lines!
TarponTango loading onto the trailer I have is a breeze, even a beach launch is just as easy. A truck would be a little more difficult due to increase of degree of lift but I believe would be doable with a bed extender. My most recent video will give you a good idea of what it can handle. If you look on the channel I surf launch and go out to pleasure pier. It had 2.5ft swells peak and break over the nose and they just wash straight out the back.
@@KagenFishing ok, ya i'm really wanting to but I have to sell my motorcycle to get the money for it but i'm a huge fisherman, so just nervous about biting the bullet and switching to a new toy. Thanks for the quick response! i'll check out the other videos as well
TarponTango I fished out of a hobie for a good while and when I got on the solo I knew that I was making the change. It is one fishing machine.
what kind of trailer are you using?
Wonder how it would do with a thai style longtail
I seen you in that same cut about a week ago
Where are Solo Skiff made?
Do a video on all the lures and bait you use
Elite Gamer I plan to do a video where I go over my go to rigs and lures.
Kagen Fishing good
How are you loading it back on the trailer? Unloading mine is easy but loading it is kicking my booty.
M_SAGUD I just back down to the ramp and pull it on. My buddy has a little winch on his trailer and looks like makes it way easier.
Kagen Fishing yeah I was entertaining the idea of a winch. Loading it back on the trailer has been kicking my butt.
what do you think now ....... 2+ years on ....
I still love the solo skiff and don’t see myself ever getting rid of it. It gets as shallow as a kayak and paddles/poles with ease but I have the motor to spot hop and get places quicker than a yak. Best of both worlds.
@@KagenFishing awesome - think im going to go that route ..... want to find a good dolly setup as well as trailer so can do local beach access as well as launch
I just added panoptics on my solo
Crazy fishing nutt Fishing king is that a super high definition side scan or is it a full 3d? Also does that have a huge transducer?
Look up garmin panoptics cost me 3500$ it’s sick!
That thing is pretty cool. 30 miles our channel is just beginning to use one of these on his channel you should check it out it might be better alternative to a kayak
Wesley Hackney I bought one a couple moths back before 30 miles out even test drove one. They are awesome skiffs and wouldn’t trade mine for anything!
Wesley Hackney check out my other videos where I rig mine up and take it out
Will a motor with a 15 “ shaft work on the Solo Skiff?
Yes, thats the only lenght you can use
You need a pair of fish grips lol
Wow, no catch and cook on them fish
Chris Morales haha I would have but I am doing a 3 day fishing review on the solo skiff so all time and editing for the next videos is based on solo skiff.
Haha thanks for the response I was just giving you a hard time. The skiff is looking like alot of fun! We'll be waiting for the next vid
So does that bow box hold ice pretty well?
It does hold ice well an 8lb bag will last all day in it
Is this fiberglass or foam
Neither. It’s rotomolded plastic like yeti coolers
@@KagenFishing thanks
Are you from Galveston I’d love to go fishing with you
What kinda fuel range are you getting with the external tank
Justin Pool more than I could have imagine. Filled up when I got the skiff and I still have 3/4 of a tank left. It’s crazy efficient.
Kagen Fishing very awesome I’m looking into getting one soon
Need to know where you got that stake out pole???
Kelsey Morris A real good friend of mine made it for me. He just used fiberglass rod and a PVC T as the top and stuck it through a float. Cheap and very effective!
@@KagenFishing do you know where he got the fiberglass???
Online? Just an 8ft section
What happened too your old Johnson motor
Paulino Bermudez I sold it to my buddy that bought a solo skiff.
👍🏽
what baitcaster rod was that?
Florida Fisherman Pace Waterloo phantom
Hey man loved the video I'm going to have to say though you need to try going for some bull reds at night. It's one of the craziest things I done in a solo skiff and you need to try it.
timoty27 27 haha sounds like a good time. I’ve caught good size slot reds on the hobie at night but a bull red at night is another story. I’m really excited to get out on some fat trout at night under lights.
Enjoyed the video. Wear sunscreen, you're lookin red. Haha. To all those asking where this is... try google maps.
🎶👍😊
In Houston is their anyone local to buy it
weirdfish weirdfish yes Brice Sanchez on the Facebook page solo skiff of Texas deals the for the Houston area.
@@KagenFishing thx bud already hit him up gotta dump my bote rover first
Those rovers are wayyyy too expensive
Otto Cornett I agree. You could get 2 solo skiffs for the price of 1 rover
Hi, how are you. I would very much like your help to be able to buy one of this. skiff solo and send to Brazil could you help me I do not speak english . forgive me i'm typing through google translator. if you can help me but giving value if it is in my reach send you saw your revil and it was show. Awesome man! Congrats on the new boat!! Nucanoe has a super long paddle i use it on my frontier 12 the boat is 42" wide and that longer paddle is a dream to use. Liked subscribed and rang the bell! check us out when you get time!

If it wasn't caught on video then it didn't happen as far as im concerned. SD error..... sure.
