Just got this the other day (with the new formula) and it’s honestly devine. Have never smelt the old formula but if it’s better than the new one than it must be an absolute masterpiece!
Hello friend, "divine" is the word you're looking for. Maybe it helps your writing to know that it is the adjective to "divinity" (notice the i, the word has no e ;)), which means the same as "deity" or in other words, a "god". Enjoy your new fragrance!
My friend has the old formulation one, and I have recently bought the new formulation one. Smells 99% similar, but the new bottle feels a bit more fresh and just better. Maybe because its newer? Whatever, both smells amazing!
I have actually fallen out of love with Valentino since the Born in Roma range was introduced. I'm ok with the bottle changes but I wish they would leave what's inside alone! The original Uomo and Intense are both fantastic. I'll reserve judgement on the new Intense version once I have smelt it.
Got a 2022 bottle and it’s a pretty amazing intoxicating scent will definitely get ya laid cause of how good it is, it just pulls you in more and more! I guess you can say I was late to the party but still glad I snagged it.
Just thought I’d comment on this as a user of the old formula I was almost put off by buying the new bottle from the comments. I received the new formula today and it’s just as good as the old formula and I sprayed about 5 sprays and it has lasted me almost 8 hours
Great review as usual. Thanks for clearing that up for us! Question: which would you pick between Givenchy gentleman reserve privee vs VUI Lastly, is it redundant to own booth? Thanks
I had this exact same question so I bought both. Reserve privee is a boozy nutty iris. Uomo intense is a vanilla and leather iris. Reserve Privee has very poor sillage and longevity, around 2-3 hours. Uomo Intense goes for 8-9 hours.
I have 2 old bottles and 3 "new" bottles. They allmost smell identical. Don't break the bank while hunting for old bottles. Both fragrances are excellent!
Great video man, also in line with the scent profile of Valentino Uomo Intense can you review the line of Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir for Him Line? I'm torn between the EDT, EDP, and Parfum Thanks! More power to your channel 🙏
I just recently got the 2021 to have backups bc on the Valentino web sight this one is discontinued . I love the cap . I agree with the review . My older bottles have had time to macerate so im sure that plays a part in the opening being stronger to my nose then the new version . I really like them both . This is one of my favorite designer fragrances of all time .
I have both, and I agree with your assessment of new vs. old formulation. I prefer the old batch, as I think the leather note is more prominent, and less sweet than the newer version... and for me, that equates to a little more masculine. I also think the older formulation projects a bit more. I actually can't stand DHI, as I think the iris smells too much like a makeup bag, and feminine... DHP... I'll take that all day long. But if the comparison is between old formulation vs DHI, I'll take this all day long.
got the new bottle around Halloween after my last old formulation bottle ran out. definitely an improvement on a scent i love, personally think it's a nicer leathery iris scent than gentleman edp and on a par with dior homme intense
I have the original uomo but it doesnt last very long but it smells so good. I just got this one and it is strong! I usually like to spray random fragrances that I can smell while I work or study and I think I sprayed too much thinking that it was the original uomo. Lets just say its a lil beast lol. I can still smell it after a whole day. It's a classic!
I didn't know Valentino re released uomo intense! I never got to try it originally. Can't wait to grab a bottle! I own Valentino uomo and love it. Great indepth comparison.
I just got this for my son. To me it smells like pine cones? Its the new version studded collar with a cap. Not sure what to think but he if he likes it I love it ❤
I still got a bottle of the older formula and have been debating on trying the new formulation. I've been hearing good things and it's pretty much the same.
I know it's off topic but could you do a full review of versace the dreamer. Having watched other reviews I bought it and I am in love with this old school gem. Just wondered what you thought. cheers fella. Love your channel
I would prefer the cap since they dint had lock like jpg so its better they have added a cap for me its a decider other thn how it smells of course that also matters allot
Thanks for doing this review. I haven't seen anyone cover this since the reformulation, or even acknowledge it has changed. The juniper makes it a no-go for me. I can't stand that note. I haven't seen it in stores anywhere. Glad I didn't blind buy a bottle. I guess my DHI will have to be close enough.
Can you do a review of the original Valentino Uomo EDT 2014 vs the L’Oréal reformulated 2021 version? Some people say it is missing key notes like cocoa and hazelnut from the original.
It's always the same thing. Comparisons of old bottles with new bottles are useless because the lighter notes of old perfumes, which are usually on the top, are gone with time, while they are still fresh in a new bottle, so you end up noticing a difference in density and weight in the fragance always in the opening, it's totally normal. You can see, it's always in the opening that there's a difference, never in the dry down. Not always a fragrance is reformulated, we need to pay attention to this and stop being superstitious!
There is another point: in EDPs the dosing of base notes is higher, and base notes as woods, vanilla and tonka macerate more through the time. So, of course the base notes are felt as above the heart and head notes.
I guess you didn't listen to the part where the I had said that the note breakdown changed - I've tested both into the dry down and there are still differences, although slight. It's also worth noting "maturation" is controversial while some people say it makes a difference and others don't, especially in fragrances that use a lot of synthetics.
@@ChaosFragrances thanks for the video and explanation, I appreciate it allot. I have one question tho, would it be possible to share the batch codes from both the old and new bottle please?
@@unknownbutknown6814 I honestly don't know , I bought it because of the good reviews on fragrantica and the hype. 50ml was 85euros. it does project but not loudly.
I heard they fully took out the hazelnut, chocolate, vanilla notes from the original and is replaced by cardamom, black pepper, vetiver. Especially the second reformulation in 2021. Any good alternatives, which feature chocolatey, warmer notes?
