No one does dials quite like Zelos! I have a bronze Hammerhead with lume infused carbon and it is truly incredible. And a Spearfish with textured copper. You really have to hold them in your hand to appreciate them😊
I’ve ordered mine after umm-ing and arr-ing over the Eagle Ti, which I really wasn’t impressed with the case on. I was caught between this and the Henry Archer time only five meteorite dials which also have colour applied. But I think they use a coloured sapphire, which I’m not too keen on. I can’t wait to get my hands on this next week and take it on holiday! The perfect multipurpose holiday timepiece to wear in the pool and at night!
Very good review, Zelos designs are really good, I bought one a couple of years ago, and in the lapse of two years I now own 6. My Zelos are getting more wrist time than other brand, perhaps because their micro-adjustment clasp, the anti scratch resistant, or probably their eye catching design. Again great video, outstanding quality.
Really like the meteorite dial on this Mako but I still think the Signum Cuda Meteorite looks even better. Glad to see you changed your mind on Zelos. Love my Zelos even though I had a few problems but seems I do with most microbrands. They all get sorted but not had as many issues with the big brands.
I like the logo - understated, simple, symmetrical - unlike the Cristopher Ward pixel mess. That aside, I'm on my 3rd Zelos - well executed and good quality watches.
i get the email and buy it when it launches. never had an issue. you do have to be on these guys mailing lists. there making more per color way these days though and often there are a couple days passing before even the hottest color way sells out
I had a few when I first got into the hobby. I like the interesting designs, but I never found the quality to be all that great. I always root for them though. The brand has built an impressive fan base
@@CasualWatchReviewsthe last one I ordered had a clasp which was pretty much inoperable. Would not close. They have great customer service, but I just decided to be done with them after that. Just an overall change in collecting philosophy I guess. Buy less and buy better
I need to see if there is another brand with a domed sapphire that does it better. This is the second watch with a ‘very domed’ sapphire that seems to reduce the AR coating
I have the black mop mosaic from the last batch. it’s my everyday watch i love it to death. i am going to got buy the new white mop as this is my favorite watch in my collection i love how in some lights its a classy black dive watch but the right light and it looks out there as hell. and i think the white might be even better
Damn I ordered the MOP gmt this morning and then I hear you say that you can feel the rotor with this watch-that’s my pet peeve. hopefully it’s not too bad bc this piece seemed so promising for the itty bitty wrist committee lol
Great review - but I disagree about the seconds hand. I like it and it balances off the hour/minute hands. Agree purple does not work for me. Red would pop.
Obscure detail time(TM): The rectangle on the seconds hand seems to be a match for the style of the minute hand and has the same width as the minute hand (at least from the video footage). My guess is it is designed to compliment that minute hand rather than the indices.
The AR coating still has the same issue as my Zelos Blacktip Meteorite and that's a negative for me.. It reflects everything on the glass when outside. I wish they would improve on that. I've been seeing San Martin watches at half the price with better AR coating. Thanks for the review! Saved me $600 bucks!
@@RageAgainstTimeIt's hard to argue with his assertion that the price of this watch is an "absolute bargain" (of course if the watch appeals to the buyer). I guess everyone will have pet hates about what will turn them off a particular watch, but for me AR coating has never been a problem in practice... just have to occasionally slant my wrist a little when outside. The clincher for me is the dial... a stunning little slice of the history of the universe from 4.5 billion years ago on my wrist!
@@TheShotenZenjin oh yes! No doubt about it! The dial is magnificent, like I mentioned, I have the meteorite blacktip and I love that watch! The price was similar and purchased on release day so my only observance was about the AR coating as this dial is so beautiful that it deserves a very nice clean look without much reflection but that's just me. You will still love the watch!
15 !? Holy smokes that’s a little much. I’ve heard lots of good things about their quality but I personally have never been a fan of the busy dials and cases, always reminded me of the flashy dress code of the early 90’s
Hey Douglas. COSC is important and I actually asked Christopher Ward about this. It’s much more expensive to have COSC certify a GMT than a normal 3 hander. The only COSC GMT I have is that Bremont and thats still right on the line of what is should be at +6 and that was over 4 grand.
@@tngchinghwa they could put a Selllita SW330 COSC certification. It’s 345 dollars retail for the movement! Or else their is very little difference btw a San Martin or the Seiko. They’re not 600 dollars.
I just want to see the watch face during these review, but most of the time I had to looks at yours. Try to make the video be about the watch and not you.
I like the hands in this one, but that also is a big thing for me. I can’t get over the hands on a watch like I can forgive other things. That’s probably why I will never buy an omega seamaster 300 or one of the Mont Blanc watches with the hands that look like a stain glass tulip
@CasualWatchReviews I like the design, they are just too small proportionally for me. But I'm not in the market for a Zelos anyway so it's a non-issue, really!
Just look at their website...it's a joke! Either "coming soon" or "sold out"😂. Never seen such a pathetic company that keep posting discontinued items for years. It's not sold out it's discontinued because everything they make is "limited edition"
I think the Mako 1 is sold out and this one is available from the 18th of March. I’m not sure if their history with launches but this is my understanding.
Everything they make is limited to a certain number yes, but in recent months due to customers struggling to get their hands on the watches, they’ve increased the numbers available
I owned 7 Zelos… proud of our home grown brand.❤
I would kill for that Damascus titanium cased watch. That thing raised my blood pressure 🥰

I took probably 50 super macro shots so I could pick the right ones to show it off! I agree!
Zelos makes great watches.

The CW C63 GMT has been on my shopping list for a while but at half the price this Zelos makes a very compelling argument.
I like the logo - understated, simple, symmetrical - unlike the Cristopher Ward pixel mess. That aside, I'm on my 3rd Zelos - well executed and good quality watches.
Oooh I love the CW twin flags logo! but 'Zombie Force' is growing on me. This watch actually really impress me.
Zelos definitely have their own design language which I don't care for. At least it's not generic. I have a Spearfish GMT "bumblebee"and I do like it.
The build quality on the one Zelos Horizon II GMT i managed to buy is amazing. Good luck getting the colorway you want tho lol.

Nice dial and bracelet. That GMT hand is odd in purple though, it needs to contrast more with that beautiful dial.
Same issue 😕
Great review - Thank you Sam
Top notch production Sam. Lovely looking watch too. Shame about the purple.
Thanks Ray!

AR coating is my biggest gripe with the brand

Zelos sure are a very innovating brand. The design is a bit over the top for me, although the dial is just wow.

Yep, that could be it. I didn’t draw that conclusion after all the macro shots but that could be it.
You can adjust an office GMT without altering the main hands to. I prefer caller, but see the appeal of traveler's

Oh yes! I will do. I love it but it’s a mixed bag!
This or Jack Mason Strat-o-timer?
For what I like, I prefer the Jack Mason.
Seeing microbrands I get excited about to go to their website only to see "sold out" is getting tiring not going to lie.
What was the movement?
Miyota 9075. Travellers GMT
Errr, the clasp is similar to Tudor's T-fit
Thats not accurate… the T fit has a fold over for starters, is more angular and in the case of the pelagos has a spring loaded system.

their early designs were so ugly tbh
Putin has really ruined the letter Z for any logo😅
I'm with you Sam I've never cared for Zelos . A logo means a lot to me & I don't like there logo . I'm shure it's a nice watch just not for me.

For 300/400 € you can buy a seiko gmt, much better imho
Nah. Seiko have lower specs for more money across the board. Zelos make fantastic watches at the price range
Which reference? You've made quite the claim and if there is a Seiko with those specs at that price, I want to buy one.
