Hi, everyone! This is Mónica Mateo, director of "You Will Never Be Back", a little nightmare about loneliness, affections and identity. If you have any questions, please share them here! I hope you enjoy the film! :)
You should give a warning for the flashing lights.
@@depechex For several hundred years most of Spain was controlled by the Moors. They were black. There are people with African ancestors everywhere. The actor in question is probably Spanish. Skin color was probably not a factor in casting. There are people with African ancestors everywhere. They are legaly, culturally linguistically and in every other way part of their countries. A somewhat distanced example. Louis Hamilton the F1 driver is as English as anyone else.
nightmare in a time loop ... brilliant !
I loved the whole thing! Short, but has a big impact! Vera was great, such range of emotions, the rest of the cast was really exceptionell! Congratulation!
@@gryphonshire yeah that's right :D
1:57 RULE #1 If you see a GLOWING PORTAL appear out of nowhere... DONT TOUCH IT !! RUN THE OTHER WAY !!
I have seen one … it appeared on my bedroom door may first .. like around midnight ☹️ .. I sat on my bed terrified and crying for several hours lol I got a weird photo of it too .. definitely wouldn’t have touched it lmao I had to pee but I just held it in until morning lit up my room 😂
At the very beginning I was expecting two little girls to be standing at the end of the hallway. THIS was much creepier! Nice job!
The two little girls/twins in that big hotel like in the old (from 1980) and very good horror movie "The Shining"!
When I saw the long hallway of this apartment in this movie, I immediately thought of the horror movie "The Shining"!
Here comes the sea of blood..
@@lexfauser3009 Exactly!
Got The Shinning Influence Spain is so generic but I'm not saying that is not bad.
The moral of the story, don't touch strange glowing anomalies. All jokes aside, this was a well produced piece
Please check short film on my channel 🙌
It was very good. I would have tossed something into it first.
Agreed. Why would somebody touch that? I'd at least throw a tennis ball at it first!
Poke it with a stick
The things that happen outside your door.
I'll never leave my room after THIS !
11:30 has flashing lights for those triggered with seizures. 💜💜💜
I LOVE that overhead camera shot! The music is particularly good, haunting in places. I love the use of symmetry in the corridor & the lights, to portray the endless darkness ahead. Really clever stuff. Well done.
Thank you very much!! :)
This was fantastic. The writing, acting, camera work (love the dolly zoom!), editing, special effects, audio, everything was top notch. Reminded me of the 2014 movie El Incidente, another Spanish language (but Mexican) production.
Thank you so much!!
Really good. Has a Twilight Zone and Night Gallery vibe for the 21st century.
thanks!!
Well, that was just amazing. I especially loved the sound editing. All my life I've experienced weird episodes, just nanoseconds, of a sort of "unreality" that I've never been able to explain to anyone or to myself, for that matter. In this movie, the protagonist experiences something along those lines only for longer moments and they become tangible. So, her episodes really affected me and I really got lost in the film. I, too, would enjoy a feature length version of this. I imagine I'd be exhausted afterwards, though!! Maybe, I'd watch it midday with a long walk afterwards to calm down! I look forward to more movies from you and your team, soon.
Thank you very much!!
You said You have experienced Wired Episodes just For some short seconds. That's a Sleep Paralysis or You just have some sort of physcological Disorder/Brain Disorder......
Welcome to the Multiverse!
Certified Gold!!!!!
soundtrack/ soundscape makes this short perfect. hands up for the sound engeneer.
Hands up!! :)
When I saw the long hallway of this apartment in this movie and with the double of this woman, I immediately thought of the horror movie "The Shining" with that "Overlook Hotel" and those 2 little girls/twins standing there in the long hallway!
So, this short movie is very good with good acting, good story, good direction, good music and lighting in it!!!
And this short movie needs to become a normal long movie!!!
Thank you!!
If only a tennis ball had rolled up to her....
The shining is a very disturbing mind twisting movie. Good comparison.
Which is exactly why this is horror, not sci-fi. Unless a little glowy, electrical thingy is supposed to suddenly make it science fiction. This is just The Shining meets Groundhog Day.
Total masterpiece. It was like entering a Lynchian multi-universe. I wished this short film would never end.
In a way it never does.
WOW!! Thank you very much!!
@@monicamateo2971 ✨👽✨
It won't...
What is Lynchian?!
Monica, the BACKROOMS terror is ever-present with this content, GREAT JOB! Thanks!
Thanks!!!
In the words of the great Jimmy Hendrix "loneliness is such a drag". A very well put together short story. Thank you for sharing it with us.
This was so good, for a moment I forgot I was watching a short, I loved this. The actress was brilliant
thanks!!! :)
@@monicamateo2971 you're the pretty lady!
Actor and Actress both are Brilliant.
Not only actress but actor was also Brilliant.
@@nocloutchasersundermywatch No, she's Not the Pretty lady.
Not the ideal time loop to be caught in.
Excellent vid and thanks for uploading!
Thanks!!
Note to Self: Places Not to Go Into - attics, basements, woods, caves, abandoned houses, prisons, or asylums, mirrors, white vans, red vans, any vans, cornfields, fun houses, and now to completely ruin everything, portals.
The characters are amazing the place oh is madness the wallpaper is awesome.
It was the doorknobs that did it for me.
Wow! What a ride! Great job Monica!
Thanks!!
Well, this was intense. Did not expect that. Great!
Thanks!!
The moral of this story is that it is wise to be cautious in life because so many choices can never be undone. Unfortunately, many of us will learn this lesson the hard way.
Like when I watched this short video passing itself off as a short movie...I can never undo this choice...
This was so well done that I hardly have words.
I have had dreams where I somehow became locked outside of normal reality and it was impossible to return.
I saw something run through a door and chased it. The second I passed through the door, I instantly knew that I was trapped as it closed behind me.
Oddly, in the dream, I was thinking that I was trapped 'again'.
It was like being behind the workings of something, like where maintenance workers might do repairs occasionally, but I could see no way out.
I could see and hear people a ways in front of me, but as I tried to move towards them, it was like walking into a rubber band where each step became harder until it was literally impossible to move any closer, and like a rubber band I was also feeling like I was being forced back to where I started.
This film had so many similarities to the dream, especially in the way it feels.
When she entered the room and stood there with the door closed behind her, I felt like she was trapped.
Then, when she pulled up the boards and headed into what I would call 'the maintenance rooms of reality', it was eerily like my dream when I was trying to get back to 'normal space'.
Your film was just amazing!
Congrats!
WOW! thank you!!
For a moment, I thought that was a video with Ellary Porterfield. Rewatched it none stop, when realized I was wrong. Very well done!
Thank you!
I'm surprised at the number of people who did not understand the ending. Usually I am the one who asks what the heck did I just watch. She somehow entered an alternate reality where she did not exist, then traveled into the past of her original reality to warn herself. Good job. Nice and creepy.
But by the time she saw herself, she had already touched the unidentified rift and had reached the point of no return. None of it really makes sense, even when following her story perfectly. Yes, she did seem to be experiencing a different version of reality/time where she never existed, but that wasn't all that was different. The unexplained change in the hallways length and shape, the room where she could hear her past, the floor board being the path to crawl to an uncontrolled point - and why she would choose those words to communicate to herself after experiencing tha? - or why she would disappear after just a few words? all rather unexplainable, at least through my first watch. I don't know if I suspect to find more out on subsequent watching, so I may take a pass on trying to figure it out more than I have. It seems at some point (some)people got it in their head that "scifi" meant "supernatural mystery".
@@tyler8320 hi @Tyler, once she touched the weird thing in d hallway, everything goes Kray, d Multiverse, alternative dimension, etc. That's it, CHAOS, on a normal day by touching something weird. Have an awesome day 😸😎
thank you very much!
What is purpose of a warning if you can't change anything?
Loved the spooky hallway!
Yes! Exactly the kind of short I was looking for. Thank you for creating this!!
If you put this movie on loop, it gets even stranger...
Well done!
Excellent.
...and thank you ... great work , you should be very proud !!
Thanks!! :)
My grandfather always told me: "never poke your finger into a blue, electrical crackling hole in the space and time continuum that suddenly appears in front of you out of nowhere".....
This reminds me of a bit from an Alastair Reynolds sci-fi novel where a scientist working on FLT suddenly goes hysterical about their lab partner having been obliterated from time due to an accident with their experiment, but no one knows what she's talking about because she never had a lab partner. When someone checked the records there was someone who matched the details of the missing scientist, but they had been killed decades before the FLT experiment had started. Meaning the accident had changed time, or put the scientist in a different time line where her lab partner died before she even met her. By touching the blue vortex or whatever it was this woman seems to have wiped herself off her timeline, or been transported to a different one, where she wasn't even born.
Wow... It's amazing.. am always interested in alternate universe, parallel universe, portal, etc etc... So this movie was good experience for me.. But felt sorry for the girl who entered alternate universe where she didn't exist... Chilling and thrilling... Kudos to you guys... 👌👌👌👏👏👏
Thank you so much!!
Alternate?
Just a few words: A brilliant movie! 👌👍
wow! Thanks!!
Very immersive. Certain details... Can i be so bold? The most twisted thing on the set was the doorknobs. Those are the kinds of things that creep and make lasting memories.
I knew that as soon as she touched that worm whole or whatever it was, that things were going to change. I like this. I wonder what would have happened if she would have told herself to go back instead of saying to herself "you will never be back"? But I guess it would have been too late since she had already touched the worm whole.
Very well done. Made feel like being in it.
I thought I was the only one stuck in a hotel corridor for all eternity…..now I see how to escape….to the exact same one 😲😔
Very eerie! 😱 The opening scene reminded me of The Shining. 👍👍
Thanks!! :)
Esta si me gusto mucho. Bravo
Gracias! :)
Creepy good. Thanks for sharing.
Hey @DUSt , you should put in a warning for strobe light effects as it could trigger epileptic fits.
Muy bien!
gracias!
Don't understand how she knew she'd "never be back" - Ana could only say she'd not got back by that stage, but not that she never would.
Wow, that’s one hell of a bad trip!
Well done!
Thankss!!
This was chilling 🥶🥶 I really enjoyed the part where she’s trying to make contact with the people who are supposed to love her but not one person from her bf to her mom knew who she was 😟 Climbing through that hole was another good bit the effects were done really well the actors and actresses were on point and well played thank you DUST for another great short film 🎥👍🏾👍🏾
Thx for the spoiler, you just ruined the experience, congrats

Just like every horror movie - don´t follow strange noises, don´t yell "Hello" and don´t touch strange things.
But without these things, there will be no horror movies or half of the sci-fi movies.
Anyone else in a marathon of Dust movies? I found them yesterday and i just can´t stop 😎
Enjoyed it until the end but it felt hurriedly concluded; expecting some sort of conclusion or explanation as to her fate. Excellent actress!
stuck in a timeloop which deleted her from existence....dang
A nightmare of claustrophobia, well done! I’m sure I wasn’t the only one saying, “don’t touch it!” When the anomaly appeared.
very atmospheric sort of like a time loop or jump to another dimension
Ugh this reminds me why when I search sci-fi I use -dust
Oh and as an electrician I don't touch things that are arching, discharging, giving off ionizing effects etc. They all bite sometimes real hard
jajajaj!
Bravo!
Crazy! In a good way of course. 👍😵💫
Gorgeous film. Brilliant. And, unfortunately, the story of my life.
**Warning if you are Photosensitive or epileptic, there are Flashing lights in one part of this film that might make you uneasy**
With that said, Thank you for posting this content! Congratulations to everyone who participated in the production of this enjoyable Sci-fi short film! The scenes were used very well, and the cast, crew, and direction were great. This story reminds me of old mysterious tales I heard as a kid about people crossing the "Bermuda triangle".
Very enjoyable.

This film is sure to make many questions pop up in your head. Two questions that constantly came to mind are,
#1 where is she (at that particular moment in reality, ie: after touching the anomly) and
#2 how does time work here? How much time has passed (since she first saw herself crumpled on the floor of the hallway)?
Points of interest for me:
> She was having what seemed to be a migraine headache after the light flashed and right before the anomly visually appeared. Was she just epileptic?
> When the security man came to check on the situation, he gave chase and collapsed after what seemed like 8 meters. (Wow 🤭) No marathons for that guy. 🍩
> The moment he spoke his last word and died the reality shifted again. (numbers ceased to exist on doors.) Did his death change reality, or did she have an episode that changed things again?
> Also a very emotional point was when the two people she (Ana - Ximena Vera) loved the most denied ever knowing her she was instantly alone in her journey for the first time. Depending on a person's sense of self (Ego) this could be crippling as we witnessed.
Moral of the story stay away from people who get migraines, 🤯it's already too late for them RUN lol.. jk jk.. 🤭
My actual takeaway from this film: Our lives, with all of it's compexity and quirks could always be worse..!
"YOU WILL NEVER BE BACK", la noche con el moreno la dejó viendo visiones. Seguro que vuelve a por más.
Daaaang! That was intense!
An enigma wrapped in a rip in time and space. A never ending loop of the same problem. Very nice.
Thanks! :)
Great job Monica. Great story, Great acting, Excellent imagery. I Love how the music and lighting really built the intensity. Look forward to more
Thank you very much!!
I agree!
Had me curious and glued for the whole short film - well done for a setting just in a hotel corridor!
This is basically the ambience of every dream I have.
Excellent production, acting, music... and esp. enjoyed the camera angles - great story. Looking forward to more from you all!
Intense!!💕
Sucked in from scene one! Wow! Great film!
Thanks!
Despite my other comment, I will say that the production value is nice. Well put together short.
This effected me very much , the loneliness and confusion must have been unbearable … great job Monica , I was captivated … even
Though I wanted to turn the video off because I found it eerily disturbing had to watch in its entirety..👍🏻👏your desired result was spot on 👍🏻for me..
Thank you very much for watching it until the end :) For me is very important to know that the audience can feel the anguish of the character.
Well done, Monica! I love this kind of storyline. Well acted and produced. I know this is undoubtedly going to be the main subject of my dreams for a while! Thanks! 👀 🤷♂️ 😁👍
jajaaj! Thanks!!
Pelicula excelente Sra Monica !Yo esperare' para otra !
¡¡Muchas gracias!! :)
A twisted journey for this young woman and even so, she's still not certain where she ended up...
Nicely done!!
Thanks!
There really needs to be a strobing light warning.
Hotel California. "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave"
This is truly the stuff my nightmares were made of. That LONG HALL effect, I've dreamed about it a number of times in my life!! I believe that was used in the first "Poltergeist" movie.
Interesting, nice video, thanks.
Thanks!

¡¡Muchas gracias!! :)
_I must say, I had to re-watch the last minute to make sure I didn’t miss something🤔Portals? Dimensions? Second chances that are mistaken as initial choices? Who knows how many times she satisfied her curiosity and now is simply trying to get back_
How totally Twilight Zone. I'm blown away. Great shots after each 'confusion' section. Keep it up.
Exactly!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!! :)
Did anyone else immediately think of the words REDRUM REDRUM with that first halfway scene?
That's why I always run the other way whenever I see an interdimensional portal. It never ends well.
Excellent production. Beautifully shot.
