As the owner of an SRT4 ACR with the Stage 2 package, ive been around turbo fours for a long time. I'm here to tell you that 181 horsepower with nearly 200 foot-pounds of good, usable low-end torque is nothing to sneeze at for the demands of the Bronco Sport. The 3-cylinder is actually a good overall design with its problems having been largely hammered out. It is not slow at all. And gas mileage is consistently higher than EPA. Deal with it: 3 cylinder turbos are here to stay; even for performance applications like the GR-4. My biggest fear is that fact that the average driver does not understand how small turbo engines can do whar they do. Properly cared for, they can last as long as a naturally-aspirated equivalent. Lubrication and heat are its enemy.

I heard all the reviews about the smaller engine.. I didn't want to get a badlands so I was hesitant.. But after driving it for a week I find nothing wrong with it. Acceleration is good and i'm getting 10.5l/100 in the city.

I love my 2023 BS Badlands. Has more horsepower than an eight cylinder 1996 full sized Bronco. At 250 Hp and 275 pound feet of torque the BS Badlands is no slouch. I have been averaging 26.5 mpg as well. Not awesome, but not bad for an SUV. It is not meant to tow extremely heavy loads but it is very good at the purpose it was built for, which is commuting/and offroad fun. Offroad this crossover SUV is impressively capable. Better than they intended in my opinion. It's nice to look at, fun to drive, and has plenty of power to boot.

I've had use of a 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend for over 2 weeks. It didn't take long to see this vehicle is my 2009 Escape with the same / very close to the dash texture, center console silver paint, split glass/tailgate, the squareness of the windshield and back tailgate. And I had a 6 cylinder instead of this 3 cylinder on the '24. Electronically the 2024 Sport is way ahead of my old Escape and having an 8 speed trans is nice, but needed ... wouldn't want this sewing machine engine to rev at 5000 rpm for just daily driving. Over all its a nice vehicle, but nothing great.

My Badlands is getting 24 mpg. Much better than the 18 I was getting from the 2.0 in my escape. Are they the same engine?

I have a specs spreadsheet of all available 2023 - 2024 economical compact SUVs, and its average is 200 hp, with a median of 187 hp. Therefore, 181 hp is close to the average but definitely below it.
And yeah it's fine even if you don't believe me. You should be doubting random people saying random things anyways.
