    Here we are 3 years later. I bought Logic express 8 as a first after Cubase 3.5. It was pretty. Later versions was more grey. I also watched the MIDI in Cubase that you produced. I was on RUclips late 2007. I wasn't sure if youtube was going to be success. Then google bought it.

    neat tut. thanks a lot. may I pick your brains? the guitar chords you triggered in the lower octave of the top keyboard made me think about something: with all these "real instrument" performance plugins (e.g. horns, drumming, strings ...) now implemented, I find it strange that there still isn't an ample guitar-style strumming system within logic. I wouldn't be surprised if it were added soon. But meanwhile ... maybe you already know a cool way of achieving it with the existing plugins... I wouldn't put it past you. That would be an insteresting video, methinks

      well they have that in the chord strips in logic remote as shown in the video, which seem to do a fast strike of the chord notes with some slight delay between notes sounding. Not sure if there's a way to reproduce that.

    Hi, unrelated question to this video but hoping you can help! When triggering the snare on drum kit designer it seems to slightly randomise the pitch and it is not always the same pitch. Do you know how to prevent this?

      never heard that happen on my setup. weird.

    Hi Matt.A question on a completely different topic...was looking back at your 10.4 Tempo videos, but can't seem to work something out. I have a song with a MIDI piano part (of that Lewis Capaldi song...) and a vocal recorded at the same time, with no click track, essentially. I wanted to add drummer parts etc, but cannot for the life of me get the Project Tempo to Adapt. Tried doing it to the vocal part as it is an audio file, but it fails, not surprisingly. So need to get tempo to follow the midi part. Except I can't work out how to do this. I have seen a way to do this by bouncing the MIDI track to audio, and going that route, but SURELY there is a better way to do this? Any advice, or pointer to one of you videos where you demonstrate this, would be gratefully received!

      logic's method is import region, bring up region shortcut menu for midi region - apply region tempo to project tempo - you can also go into the short-cut menu Tempo sub-folder and open the midi file in the tempo editor just like audio - not sure if any of that'll work but...

      @@dancetech I'll try that, and mess around to see if I can get this to work. I did try opening new project, importing the midi track and indeed got a tempo track to follow, but will then the audio track won't sync up with the midi'd tempo changes. Guess my only option will be to bounce the track as is, down to one audio track, and then attempt to get Logic to extract the tempo changes to get a Drummer track to sync to that. Shame, as I wanted to keep the tracks editable, but `having one's cake and eating it' applies!

      get the audio to follow the mid as part of a multitrack set, and the midi sets the tempo for the lot.. should work if they are in sync to start with

    • @timbeaton5045
      @timbeaton5045 4 года назад

      @@dancetech the issue with that is as there is only one audio track, the Multitrack set option is greyed out!
      Damned if I do...Damned if I don't...! Back to Ye olde drawing boarde...

      Does have to be said, learning a few chords on an actual keyboard would a) be easier and b) you can learn more about progressions!
