Better Than Klim at Half the Price? MSR Xplorer ADV Jacket and Pants Review

- The all-new MSR Xplorer adventure motorcycle gear from @rmatvmc is maybe the best value in adventure motorcycle jacket and pants. In this full MSR Xplorer review, I'll tell you why. It's unbelievable to me that they managed to squeeze so many features and such high quality into such an affordable package. My MSR Xplorer jacket review and MSR Xplorer pants review is overwhelmingly positive. This feature-rich, well constructed adventure motorcycle gear punches WAY above its weight, even competing with adv jackets and pants that cost twice as much from brands like Klim and Rev'It.
If you're in the market for an affordable adventure motorcycle jacket and and adventure motorcycle pants, you can get the MSR explorer setup for just over half the cost of the Klim Carlsbad jacket and pants. Whether you're out there touring on your big adventure bike or tearing up forest trails on your lightweight dual sport motorcycle, this gear will serve you well and is among the most waterproof adv gear I've ever used.

I was seriously interested in both jacket and pants. But ordering from Sweden would set me back an ADDITIONAL $500 in various fees! 😳😱
So…. Back to local stores then…
I have the ARC battle born, used it a lot, velcro on neck wore out, still have it. Then moved to KLIM Dakar, love it but using light weight rain gear over it when needed. I just used your link and ordered MSR explorer jacket, pants, base layers. Thanks
The pants only go to a 42" waist; apparently, you aren't that "fat" then.
Hi Dork, thanks for the review and sharing your opinion with us! I really appreciate the POV from a larger person like myself. How does this compare to Alpinestars Halo jacket? I believe you had that as well in a past video?
Out of stock...all colors
The simplest answer to why this gear is so much cheaper is that the Klim stuff is massively over-priced and should be way cheaper than it is
The R&D and materials that go into KLIM are second to none.
@@redrideradventuresKeep buying that overpriced gear 👍🏻
I really value your reviews. I have purchased several items as per your positive reports. Thank you for your efforts and time.
Appreciate the openness of what they give you and what they pay or don't pay you. Sucks to find out someone got paid to push something and they when the deal runs out they don't use the product any more. I really feel like you are being as honest as you can be with us and it's appreciated. Definitely looks like good quality gear.
Appreciate the review & comparison! I've come from my sport oriented riding with my gear choices in the past but now getting further into dual sport & sport touring. These may very well be my next gear purchases.
Bro!! You have the awesomest videos!! Sound advice, zero ego and gatekeeping… I’m hooked!!
Been wanting proper gear for a while, this looks good! More gear reviews please 🙏 😀
can't wait for the next ADV 101 video! I'm currently in the works of purchasing a KLR and am finding all your videos suuuper helpful!
This is definitely making me rethink a few recent gear purchases!
Thanks Dork for this review. I’ve done my research and this jacket looks legit. I ordered one just a few days ago from RMADV can’t wait till it gets here.
So freaking awesome your reviews are so good very well thought out and makes folks like myself who are bigger inspired 👍I'd like to see the side by side compared. Thanks again brother 👊 keep up the great work
I saw an ad for this gear the other day and was wondering about it(I need new pants) . I'm buying the pants because of this video. Keep up the good work!
As someone in the market soon for a set of gear, thank you! I'm a bigger guy and I believe you have sold me on this.
Bought this equipment on your review! Spot on fits great , versatile in all conditions. Love it
I busted a gut with your principals office analogy. Great video Ben. Keep up the great work. Cheers from Texas.
Well, I'm sold. Once the snow melts I'll be getting a set of these. I'm really digging the blue and orange, that orange really pops without looking silly.
Awesome video. I just bought the Klim Dakar jacket today for summer riding and I love it so far, but I wasn't looking forward to the winter gear price tag. This is probably what I'll be going for because of this review. Also, I met you at Rays in Sisters a few months ago. 😆 Glad you made it home safe brother!
Well done, thank you for the breakdown. And put me on the YES list, for wanting to see the comparison video.
Nice review, the MSR stuff looks like some good riding gear. its nice to know the sizes fit normal, since some other brands set all of their sizes to only fit "lighter" riders. I have the Alpinestar Andes v3 jacket, for the price it is great for commuting and adventuring. now i need a good pair of pants to go with it.
I ordered the voyager set and I love it! Want a set of these next. Great review man love your vids 😎
Just got mine through your site here. Thanks for helping me make a decision. Appreciate you!!
Badass. Thanks for the review, I’ll be looking into this for my next set! I’m based in Baker City and ride the same places you so pretty often so it’s a very valid review for me!
I purchased this kit based on your snow ride review with your link. I am in agreement that this kit is great. Really great. I also agree on the not so good points. The for arm vent zipper is too long it digs into the bend of my arm. The neck opening, designed for a gorilla neck. I’ll call have to wear a gater to fill in the gap on the cold days here in lane county.
I got the size I usually wear (32) in the pants and large in jacket. I need to send them back for larger because in the winter I wear a base layer to stay warm. Too tight of a fit. Also I wish RM would have designed in a more roomy seat. I’m a thin guy and the back of the pants pull way down when I’m sitting. But, all that said I can’t wait to get it back in a larger size. Its great stuff.
I saw this gear show up on RMATV a while back and it definitely looked good. Had I not recently gotten the Carlsbad, for a price that highly annoyed me for what it is, I would have jumped on this MSR adv gear. All of the MSR gear I already have is excellent. The velcro on my Olympia pants cuff works more than well enough. But i hem my pants to fit properly. Appreciate your review! Nice snow angels! 😂 And thank you Rocky Mountain for all the great stuff.
Hi Sir, I've been using the Aerostich Darin standard pants for 10 years, on my second pair about 3 years ago at $350 and custom fit to my 30' inseam and fat boy waist has worked well for me. I'm currently using the A.R.C. jacket thank you for your content.
Solid review!
Got my eyes on that jacket and will use the link when I make the buy. Thanks bro
Excellent review. I have had this set in my cart and will click the link on your channel and get it.
I've owned an MSR Explorer jacket (when it was Malcolm Smith Racing) for around five years and couldn't agree more with your assessment of the quality and the comfort this jacket provides. The D3O armor and rugged fabrics give me a sense of security I don't have with other jackets. It is heavy though (6.8 lbs.) and I don't like bothering with with the numerous vents to optimize temperature control so, on warmer days, I will usually chose to wear my FirstGear TPG Technical jacket which (4.4 lbs.) also has D3O armor and an added benefit of High Viz green color.
I just received my MSR jacket and pants and immediately did the snow angel test. Dork is true to his word. Thank you sir. I bought these solely on your recommendation alone without any other research. After this you have my complete devotion. All hail the great internet riding buddy. 😂😂
I'm happy to hear you like the gear!
Awesome review video as always. Love what your doing keep it up!!!
Great review my friend. Through the years I have done the hodge-podge accumulating good gear that worked for me at budget prices due to circumstance.I have been riding back country for a tad over 50 years now- back when work boots/helmet/leather jacket and gloves was what there was unless racing. Through the years I have tried and added nearly every brand of something to my riding. I do not have Klim only because of the expense AND I have found hot/wet/cold gear that piece for piece and what I do to it (silicon spray, etc) that I have a large closet of specific gear for summer/WET/winter riding and other for nicer days/more road trip stuff/ride-hike-walk days, etc. It CAN mean from Bilt gloves, Leatt or LS2 helmet, EVS protective gear,Alpine Stars, TCX or Fly boots. And quite a few others. I got them on sale after checking reviews so was able to get pretty darn good gear for riding back in the mountains as a BDR Ambassador and a gear sponsored rider for EVS Sports protective gear with a wide range of gear yet always really good protection no matter the price point. I was a cop, raised five kids and still rode. That did not leave much money for gear but it IS available- maybe last years model- but it works. There is nothing wrong with getting what you can afford but should never feel like decent equipment is not out there at decent prices to put into gas and your trip.
Very interested in that gear! Great review. I like seeing some one test the gear the way i will be using it. Snow and cold rain riding a dual sport is the only good test of gear like that. Thank you!
Great video! I'm heading over to their website now, as I had no idea about them. Thanks!
The wife got me a set in grey for my BDay and this stuff is awesome! I wouldn't be surprised if the price increases in the future. I found the sizing to be right on point. I saw a few loose stands but nothing excessive at all. I would like to see an option to zip the jacket to pants but no big deal. There is a bit of a pinch on the crease of the arm but PLEASE dont let that stop you because this is EXCELLENT gear for the price and even if it were more expensive!
That was one advantage of the ARC Battleborn gear, 500 all in for the pants/jacket combo and it came with thermal liners
The best part is that you were not kidding about the snow angel lol. I was actually looking for a new jacket come this riding season. Perfect timing!
it's the ultimatre test!
Super helpful, thank you! Especially appreciate a "big man" perspective.
Appreciate the candid comparison!
Well done dork! 😁
Getting my first adv bike next month and need first adv jacket and pants. 🙏🏽
You are the man Ben.... Your recent intention and effort is definitely noticed and appreciated. Thank you, Oh and I like your channel better that Ian's 😂😂
Excellent review as always! People should not underestimate the mid-tier (or even budget) options when it comes to apparel. It's often surprisingly good (just stick to reputable MFR's, obviously-fake gear is no bueno). I've been rocking a (relatively) cheap Sedici suit (CycleGear house brand) for the last three years and it's served me quite well in the mild-to-hot climates where I ride. I originally bought it as an emergency stopgap when the main zipper on my Aerostich broke right before a trip, but ended up liking it so much that it's become my primary suit. However, it's starting to show some wear and I'm planning a weeklong ride in Iceland. So I think it's time to upgrade to something more capable (especially more waterproof). I really didn't feel like spending a grand or more on Klim or Rev'It-good to know there is an option that basically splits the difference in price between those and what I have now, but is closer to the "top-drawer" stuff in quality!
I agree that the lack of a connecting zipper is a bummer, and potentially a small hit to safety as well. Isn't the main purpose of that to prevent the jacket from riding up if you end up sliding feet-first on your back? I'm sure I've been told that...
Thanks for the honest review Dork in the Road ....the lack of zipper attachment between jacket and pant on the MSR is the deal breaker....looking at the REV'IT! Sand 4 H2O Jacket and pants...a bit more spendy but looks like a better design...
Thanks for this brother i have been looking for gear for a while that is not crazy expensive.
Rocky mountain atv is my go-to company now. They have slowly but steadily inched out revzilla over the last 5ish years
As always, a great review.
Enjoyed this alot! Thank you!
"Feels good in the hand" All complete reviews need this phrase.
Thanks man. Please continue to keep it real.
Thanks for the advice!!
i dont know why i watched this ( I was looking at a dual sport DRZ before the chopper bug hit so uncle Al Gorithm probably suggested it ) however your review was excellent for this.I dont need it at all but your enthusiasm for the gear makes me want some and I like to ride harleys to bars! Thumbs up. If I ever get a DRZ I will look into this stuff if they sell them in aus. Good review
Great review.....will check them out!
Super helpful review! I'm in the market for ADV gear and have had a hard time making up my mind on what to buy.
There are a million options out there, for sure.
Great Review. Come down to San Diego...Baja is great, I go twice a month! Make sure you hit the wineries in Valle deGuadalupe !!!
I completely agree about all the zip in liner options. I've purchased so many jackets and pants and I immediately remove all the liners and stow them in the closet never to be used. What a wSte
Would love to see a detailed comparison video between msr and the Klim gear. Thank you!
Nice vid and review. Great to see good pricing for good gear. Heading to Baja soon??? I’m heading there on a ride beginning March 4th with MotoQuest. Maybe I’ll see you on the road :)
Been looking for another grey adv jacket option, thanks for the link
Howdy @DorkInTheRoad!! Awesome review!!! Where can another “Large Fellow” find those suspenders!!?!
That ID pocket on the left arm was stolen from AeroStitch originally so I guess it’s fair game these days.
Thanks for an in-depth look at the MSR gear. 👍
I’m still planning to buy it through your link. I’m trying to drop some weight before making the purchase. Made a few lifestyle changes after retiring.
Looks like decent gear, I need a good set in the next year.. will have to keep them in mind. Let us know how they age.. Love the blue!
Great review. I've got some Klim pants right now and looking to get on with a new jacket this year. Being involved with the military gets a great discount with Klim, but your review has me seriously considering an MSR jacket. Thanks! PS - Please compare against the Carlsbad!
Man, the principal's office? Men amongst boys, boys amongst men... but that's the Dork's charm. I really enjoy the videos.
I swear by a light wool outdoors shirt for my mid layer. The kind you get from say Fillson, Pendelton or another 100% wool woven or felted shirt. It breaths & is warm as long as you have a solid wind break. Sometimes the wind can cut through the zipper if you don't have good mid line coverage. On that note I really want a good off centerline riding jacket. Like the OG bomber style leather jacket or the newer Captain America offset jacket where the zipper or w/e closure is on one side of the chest.
I like it!
Not just the gear but the singing at the end as well 😂
If only he looked like Shania!
@@ParallelCamper 🤣👍🏻
I do like having the zipper for the jacket to pants thing. I really like that on my HWK gear.
Thanks for a thorough and honest review - typical of the Dork! If you do cut that gusset out, be sure and remove the garment beforehand. It probably says that on one of the long silken white lables sewn inside the waist band.
lol good tip.
I'm set with Klim pants, but the jacket...waterproof and a pocket for a water bladder, that's super tempting.
This looks great! I talked myself into a Knox Urbane Pro mesh motorcycle shirt recently. I loved the idea of the protective garment as the base layer with the armor worn over a thin polyester shirt and any insulation or waterproofing layered over that. Knox is a European brand and I'm an American so I bought a much larger size than the fit chart stated, to make sure it wasn't too small. It was too small. I have long but thin arms, and it was like a straight jacket. I had to fight a claustrophobic feeling as I tried to remove the jacket and the sleeves constricted on my arms like Chinese finger cuffs. The return shipping to the Netherlands was $65, which is a lot to pay to try on a jacket that I ultimately didn't want, so I appreciate Rocky Mountain offering one free return shipping on clothing purchases.
When considering the weight, remember that the jacket and pants are waterproof so you don't need the weight or bulk of packing a rain suit.
I like the added breathability compared to Gore-Tex. I mostly ride in warm weather where breathability is a good thing (in addition to the large vents) and I can wear a very thin windproof shell under the jacket if I want to be warmer... or I can wear my ultralight heated vest under the jacket.
I'm European, I take a large in Klim or xl in most Alpinestar or Revitt kit, but had to go XXL in the Urbane at 6 foot tall and 200 lbs [ get me doing US measurements] with a broad back 46" chest and a 34" waist so a pretty odd shape. I like the Urbane but even in xxl it kind of still digs into my back.
@@TheIdlesurfer - I loved the concept of the Knox Urbane Pro. Too bad it didn't work for me. Maybe if someone made the same tight fitting garment with sleeve zips as well as a front zip so it's loose when putting it on and taking it off. It's odd that there is American and European sizing. There's no significant genetic difference. Americans are just a lot fatter based on our bad lifestyle choices. That's embarrassing.
I have the Carlsbad now, and would love to see a direct comparison. I bought my Carlsbad intentionally a little too big, be cause I wanted lots of room for layers underneath, so I am tempted to get a second jacket a size smaller for the summer months.
Timely review for me. I am actively looking at waterproof gear for my Alaska trip this summer. I currently have Tourmaster trek alpine gear, it’s nice but not waterproof. They do have a WP suit that is comparable in price to this MSR gear. I will check it out.
What gear did you end up choosing? Satisfied with it?
Great review, as always, Ben! How do you like the MSR gloves?
Welp. You convinced me. Just ordered the jacket (via your link).
Great review.
Wondering if anyone has used these above 80°F or 30°c ?
Also what there under layers are like for cooler weather?
Thank you all.
Great video. Do you think this would be comparable to straight mesh, and cool enough during 100+ degree heat in Texas? Kinda of torn between mesh pant/jacket vs something at this level. Keep up the great work.
Awesome review. Thanks Dork. I might check out a jacket (2XL). I bought a 2XL off the interwebs in Jan was way way way to small and I had to return it.
Different companies have different sizes and it's dumb. I'm a 2XL in this jacket, if that helps for reference.
@@DorkintheRoad Seeing that you mentioned the size jacket you got, if you don’t mind me asking, what size t-shirt do you wear. I’m similar size as you, and I am currently on the cusp of xl going to 2xl t-shirt, trying to figure out what size jacket I’d get. The other question is on the pants. Ordering is only by inseam, no waist size. Is the waist very adjustable? I’m 30” inseam, and 42” waist. Thanks so much!
After much research and finding your video, I bought the MSR ADV set. Just did the first 1200 mile ride with it, and while I'm too busy to do a reply video to your review right now, here are my comments:
1. Overall VERY satisfied with performance and build quality and water-resistance (but we only had one day of rain).
2. While the built-in CamelBak pouch is one of my favorite features, the loop on the front right chest only is limiting - I really prefer my drink tube on the left chest.
3. The forearm zippers/vents with their associated internal waterproof structure REALLY dig into my inner elbows when my arms are bent for things like fastening my helmet strap, to the point of bruises. NOT AT ALL a problem while in a riding posture - only when bending my arms tighter than about 90 degrees.
4. Definitely buying some clip-on suspenders. The lack of a rear jacket-to-pants zipper is a downside, and only when tightening the pants beyond the point of comfort would they stay up when not on the bike. Again, no issue when riding my DL650 V-Strom; only an issue when off the bike.
5. Pocket options are kind of limited, but I'm used to the one-piece Aerostich suit I've had since the early 2000s.
6. Jacket vents are surprisingly effective (so long as you open the shoulderblade vents as well). Pant vents do a little, but not as much as I wanted. I would prefer some outside calf vents that allow air in and up across the groin.
Many thanks for your detailed review, and judging from the comments on MSR's site, a lot of us found your review pivotal to our purchase decision.
EDIT/Addendum:
Other comments have mentioned how the left sleeve change/ID pocket was on the original Aerostich - they're right, and it's a GREAT feature. I still use the Velcro clear map pocket for the left sleeve on my Aerostich, and want to figure out how to add that to the MSR.
Your comments about the Pant's venting is exactly what I suspected...I have been very much wanting to buy the pants, but the venting scheme seems inadequate/ineffective especially because the ones that the pant does have do not appear to stay open for effective in/outflow.
EDIT: After some consideration I decided to take advantage of RMATV’s size exchange and to my benefit it looks like the large size jacket will be a good fit for me after all. Indeed I’ll ave the waist adjusters taken all the way in, and I’ll have room for a pressure suit and/or some layers. I’m looking forward to putting some miles on! I already see a few modifications to make to help ventilation in the hot times. As for the elbows: having the longer sleeves did help a bit, and having any kind of long sleeve shirt under the jacket helps a lot.
Dang I was excited about this suit, but it just arrived and unfortunately for me it is a no-go. I'm 6'2" and 180 lbs, (so tall-ish and thin), and the reports that the MSR is more "American" cut while the Klim is more "Euro" cut seems to be true.
The jacket: The Klim medium size jackets fit me like a glove with perfect sleeve length and a trim-yet-comfy fit, and the MSR medium only sits right around the middle with the waist adjusters tightened while the sleeves are significantly too short in the medium. If I moved up to a large I'm sure I'd be swimming in the torso area, and would provably even need the XL size to get the sleeve length right which I would DEFINITELY be lost inside. If it existed a Medium-TALL jacket might work better, but sadly it does not. So for you thicker dudes the MSR might indeed be a winner, but for me I'll have to keep searching for a budget-friendly new suit. Also: the elbow bend issue many have noticed on the MSR: it is AWFUL! From the reviews I was like "how bad can it really be?", but it is actually painful to wear, and would be annoying as hell and very distracting on the bike. And I AM willing to sacrifice some comfort for good protection, but this level of discomfort would be a potential hazard. The wrist zipper and superfabric and elbow armor adjuster all come together right on top where the elbow bends and I almost couldn't wait to get the jacket off. If the sleeve length was correct on me this issue might be lessened (because that area might be moved down the forearm and inch or two), FWIW...
I got the MSR 34 TALL pants and the fit was pretty good, length was good, a little bit longer than jeans (normally I wear 33W34L pants/jeans). They also felt pretty baggy so the armor would likely swim around, but again: for you thicker dudes it might work out great.
I hadn't seen anyone talking about it from a tall/thin guy perspective, so here it is. Thanks for the review Dork! I really wanted this suit to work, darn.
Thanks for this feedback. You saved me the headache
Wearing suspenders is a game changer! Great review of some good gear. One question....how long are the pants? I see they do not sell a "long." Thanks!
Solid option for an upgrade before my dempster ride.
I love a deal, Klim is never on sale it doesn’t need to be I have the badlands pro and Baja s4 suits the best gear I have ever owned…..but this is what I’ll be buying for my sons as they are starting on their own ADV riding careers RMATVMC is my go to for parts and luggage. Now it will be where I go for apparel . Thanks for a great review.
Just ordered the pants, through your link, was about to go Mosko and saw these that are quite similar at $200 less. Same event fabric/super fabric.. I just hope these vent well in the summer!
This looks to have CE level 1 pads throughout. Don't forget the mosko gear is just a shell, no armor.
Thanks for the review. I would like to view more if you would make some more detailed vids. I have large diameter leg muscles and use full knee braces with MX Boots while riding. It is really hard to find riding pants that will go over MX boots. I would like to see if these will. My THOR Radial MX Boots will barely latch over my brace so thats how big my legs are.
Howdy from Texas! New gsa in July. No real gear yet. Hard to spend for the Carlsbad which is my choice. If Rocky Mountain is comparable I'm there ! Please do another video ! Thank you
Please do the comparison video with Klim and this MSR gear! Thanks. Great video!

You had me at "Super Fabric"!!!
Think this might be my next set of gear. Just wish it came in more interesting colors!
I have the Klim Badlands Pro jacket and pants set, 2019 vintage. Three years in that gear, but I can ONLY wear it in cool / cold weather. It is just WAY too hot for the summer here in South Carolina. I just came across this video… now I have MSR in my sights. How is this in warm weather? I was THIS close to buying the new Klim S4 Baja set, but this now has my attention.
Hey Ben, great and helpful review! I'm leaning towards getting this soon, but I am concerned about the stiffness inside the elbow you mentioned. Can you tell us if that has improved as the jacket is broken in a little? Also a question for you (or anyone else who may be able to give a response) regarding how this compares to an Aerostch Roadcrafter regarding stiffness and heat at lower speeds. I've had Aerostich for many years for Sport-Touring (which it was fine for), but I find it way too restrictive for ADV/ Off-Road, as well as too hot for Off-Road at lower speeds. I'm planning my 1st overnight ADV Trip (MABDR) for later this year, and considering the MSR for this trip. I just want to make sure that it is an improvement over the Aersotich in those areas. Thanks again for the great content!
Just ordered the pants and jacket through your affiliate link.
Appreciate your content.
🏍️💨
I remember yearning for the Malcom Smith enduro jacket back in the 1980's but couldn't afford the $160 price tag!
I am planning on replacing a pair of pants and these look like the ones I will get. The whole line of MSR gear looks to be good value, quality gear.
Thank you for this video
If I didnt like my ARC battleborn gear I would most def get this setup!
I wish they would restock soon on sizes for thicc bois like me. Looking for my first set of ADV riding gear after 10 years of riding and this seems to really be the best bang for the buck outside of buying used gear on ADV Riders Flea Market
Great review.
Oh man the best part of the vids your snowman making!! ha ha ha that sold me right there! Great vid and I will get the top jacket and ride with different pants. I do not like to match my top with bottom. Anyhow love the vid showing yourself actually use the gear in falling snow and icy roads, cold wet climate! Thank you so much!
Just bought a pair of pants only. Considering returning them without riding in them because of the gusseted fly. To take a pee one would have to undo the buckle, unzip the fly, then pull the pant down four to five inches to relieve yourself. Frankly, the function of the gusset escapes me. In rain it would collect water because the gusset forms a pocket inside the zipper. Thinking about having the pant altered by cutting the gusset then hemming the edges to keep the cut from fraying.
Well done review, sir. Thanks for your appraisal. A couple of questions regarding the pants: I looked at the photos, and it seems the lower leg zippers come up to below the knee. I’m one to boot up, then don pants. Does that short-ish zipper create a large enough opening to accommodate that? I’ve been wearing Aerostich Darien pants for decades now, and definitely appreciate the full-length zippers. Also, do you find that the mesh lining in the pants tend to catch your boot soles on the way in? Thanks for any insights. 👍
It would be great to see a comparison between this and the Carlsbad gear. Thanks
Just picked up the Sedici Avventura jacket and pants for my first adv set. So far I'm very happy with them both and they're very reasonable. So far I'm happy I went with one the cheaper options. Keep up the great work.
I bought those recently too and got absolutely soaked on a rainy ride. I hope you have better luck
Nevermind I bought the Garda gear from sedici. I'm dumb
@@DorkintheRoad I haven't ridden in much rain yet and I try to avoid it but I have a separate rain suit for it that works very well. I didn't plan on relying on this suit solely.
I am pretty sure that is the jacket I have as well and I am very happy with it so far. I have not been caught in a torrential downpour yet, I do have rain gear as well. The Sedici isn't Gortex etc. Price reflects that.
It's what I wear. Fantastic gear at a great price. Kept me dry in our Texas rains..
