    I just finished my leaving cert (thank the lord) but something that really helped me through was getting rid of my phone completely (yes I know this sounds impossible) but after the mocks I switched to a Nokia blockia and it was the best decision I ever made and I wish someone had told me to do it sooner as it really helped not only my attention but I had so much more time to study, so just a tip that I would highly recommend even though it does sound hard it was so helpful

    For Biology all I did was just keep doing the exam papers over and over again and I got a H2 and I’m sure if I studied harder I could have probably got a H1 so you can definitely get a H1 if you just did the exam papers over and over

      Hi, my favourite subject and strongest is biology. I used to study from the book but I used to get h3s and h2s but I started exam papers and realised the style of questions. Would you say to just look over the chapter and get like studyclix or something and do as many papers as possible? I need a H1 in biology and bussines

    • @jaemiing
      @jaemiing Год назад

      @@adamvarghesesatish3337 Hi, yes you’re right, definitely look over each chapter in the book just so you get the background of each chapter and then do exam papers over and over again like the format is always the same so the more you do it the more you will be used to it, I also recommend doing a whole paper like 2017 for example and timing yourself as if you’re in the actual exam to get your timing right (I only used studyclix for Irish but I’m sure its great for all subjects too) not sure if you’re doing your leaving cert this coming year or the year after but good luck!

    I did my LC this year and ngl it was a really tough year. I need high points (I also want to study in the uk) so I felt a lot of pressure to be at 100% the whole time and it just wasn’t possible tbh. I know everyone is different and can handle different levels of intensity with sleep, study etc but take care of yourself above all else x Stress takes a lot of your energy away during LC year tbh and it’s a *really* long run so look after your mental health. I found that sleep is SO important for dealing with the stress of the exams so don’t miss out, even if you find it means you can’t do as much as you want x

So good luck in the leving cert and i hope you get the points you want. O and also if you are struggling with a subjet just get grinds because it works reale well. Well done you did extremely well in your fifth year end of year exams. I also just finished 5th year and am going into sixth year. However with my end of year exam results I am quite mixed with them as I am only happy with four results, okay with two and extremely disappointed with one. I feel that I didn't do as well as I deserved to in my exams because the timetable was very badly organised as in my school there are 3 exams held in one day in a week. On one of the days I was scheduled to have my History, Chemistry and Maths exams on the same day as a result I became very stressed as I don't think that I could do 3 exams in one day and do well in all 3 subjects and as I result I became sick. But luckily in the end my Mum emailed the teacher who organised the timetable and she talked to my chemistry teacher and I got to sit my chemistry exam on the day when everyone else was doing missed or repeat exams. In my end of year exams I got Chemistry=H6 (I know this isn't gr8 and is a disappointing mark. But to be honest I am not disappointed with as I knew that I didn't do as well as I wanted to because I misinterpreted the questions and I also panicked in the exam. Luckily I did grinds with my chemistry teacher over the Summer holidays and I am going to keep practicing past exam questions and hopefully my grade will improve next. I also do think that I put myself under too much pressure with chemistry to get a good grade and also my class do mess and are very noisy at times in class). Maths=H5 (I did want a much higher mark than this. But the exam didn't go as well as I wanted to. I also felt extremely tired in my exam as it was in the afternoon and I was exhausted after History it was also one of my last exams). Home Economics (I am extremely disappointed with this result as I have been getting mainly H1's in class tests and it doesn't reflect all the hard work I have put in. Also in Xmas I got a H2 and was only a few marks away from a H1. My aim for leaving cert Home Economics=H1 and I have had this aim from the very start of fifth year and I am not going to let my fifth year summer exam put a stop to this. Also Home Economics is one of my best subjects along with History. What happened there was a repeat of what happened to me in junior cert year where in the mock I got an A in Home Economics but in the real thing I only got a B which I know is not my true ability at all but on the day of the exam I was ill unfortunately and the exam didn't go as well as I wanted and I don't want a repeat of this next year). Biology=H3 ( I am very pleased with this result. As I feel that I am on the right track in Biology). Classical studies=H3 ( I am very happy with this result as Classical studies is a difficult subject and the exam is generally hard). English=H3 ( I am delighted with this result as I have always struggled with English all the way throughout primary school and to achieve a high H3 I feel like I have come such a long way in this subject and shows how hard I have worked in this subject. I also do enjoy English). History=H2 ( I am over the moon with this result as I love History. It is also my least stressful and one of my favourite subjects along with Home Economics. I am also though not surprised with this result as the paper happened to go my way on the day and I also had an extremely strong RSR project on the Napoleonic code and how it influenced laws in Europe). A way you could improve English is to learn the essays as plans including your key reasons and points and key quotes for poetry, The comparative texts and for your singular texts. For language just practice the paper 1 past exam questions.

    Word of warning: it’s extremely easy to burn yourself out in 6th year. Like 99% of my year was so over worked and exhausted by half way through the year. It’s the most demanding and stressful year in school, but be consistent with your work and you’ll be fine :))

      Maths revision is all about doing practice questions. You need to be able to recall formulas, yeah, but you also need to understand how to apply them to different situations, which you learn through doing problems

    1:08 You're so lucky you're naturally good at math's! I'm really bad at math's but how can I practice something that I don't know how to practice? Like I just don't know how to go about solving a question as every question is different and I'm just lost. (If anyone knows in the comments I'm open for suggestions (: )

    • @shreiya
      @shreiya 5 лет назад +1

      Practice papers and questions. Just do loads and loads and soon enough you’ll start seeing the same style of questions coming up. They’re not all are different, once you start doing more you’ll realise that they are similar to ones you have done before and will be able to apply skills from other questions to new ones. I know it sounds daunting but the only way to get good at maths is to do practice questions and past exam papers... whether it be GCSEs or A Levels. Loads of people say this and often people kinda disregard it(i used to as well) but after doing my exams I realised that it was not them just saying it, practise questions are the only reason i managed to answer questions in my tests
