It baffles me that the players contantly escape the criticism that they deserve for continuously not showing up and giving their best efforts week to week. Thats not a managers problem, thats individual laziness.

Rashford, as the local home grown player and fan, couldn't have picked a worse weekend to look like he didn't care about his own club - as Alexander-Arnold's grit and determination to win the match, no matter what, rubbed off onto his teammates and set the perfect example of what is expected.

You expect everyone to be cut from the same cloth? Rashford can’t change his personality. He isn’t a physical player.
We all know he has pace, skill and is very clinical, so how about managers try playing him to his strengths instead of trying to bring out a completely side of him.
He’s been moved out of position so often that he lacks the continuity. He is most dangerous when he runs at defenders playing on the left, just below the striker.
Hopefully he moves to a bigger club so that he can showcase what he is truly capable of.

I'm a spurs fan and it really do feel for united fans right now. I want them to lose every game as much as they want us to lose every game, and every rival and their rival etc, but when I see players of a rival team who literally look like they couldn't give a toss about playing, I just feel bad for the fans. They don't deserve this, no fan deserves this in my opinion. I'd even say this for Arsenal, and people may disagree and want to revel in the pain of rival fans but fans have no power over how their players play, which is why its especially cruel when players don't even try seemingly. And I can sympathise with them and every other fanbase who has to deal with this, as last season was when I literally fell out of love with spurs, all the bottling over the years I kept going but last szn where the players and management just didnt care was my breaking point. Its why I'm all the more grateful that we have Ange now, a man who that ability to make you love him.

I’ve followed Man United since 1985… when we were meh, not great let’s say… there was more than one reason for that… so I’ve seen ‘dark times’ at the club before! Then Ferguson came in and started to build the club from the ground up in 86… it took a few years but we started to dominate English football in the early 90’s and compete with the best in Europe… we become a financial powerhouse by winning a lot of trophies and floating on the stock exchange… fast forward to when Ferguson had the fall out with McManus and Magnier that was the beginning on the downfall in truth… The Glazers saw an opening and proceeded to put together a deal which today would be illegal in that they leveraged it against the clubs assets… in the near two decades that have followed, they have withdrawn over £1bn in dividends, not spent but a penny on facilities, have spent the clubs own turnover on players (not their own!) and there is a massive debt still on the clubs books… recruitment in the main had been a mess, the back room is run by numbers men not football men… and a culture of player power has taken over from the Ferguson way of ‘no one is bigger than the club’ so the headline is pretty much how I’ve felt for a number of years now… I reckon I’ve watched 20 live games in the past 4 seasons… I gave up my season ticket in 2010 because I didn’t want to line the Glazers pockets anymore… and tbh, these days I have to be reminded that games are coming up simply because I couldn’t care less what happens there…
Football in itself is going down a bad path too, the whole super league thing was a warning… it will come back, and it will happen… the game on the pitch has also become sterile and diluted… VAR is a joke… now they want sin bins lol… the fun has completely been sucked out of it

Sometimes that's a good thing, but having so many people who just do their own thing makes it's impossible to put together any sort of cohesive pattern when in possession.

He has a fair reason to bemoan his club, on the other hand the glory hunting fans with no connection to Man Utd who are miserable because they’ve gone 5 mins without winning a trophy (even though they still won one last season) deserve it and only now have a slight experience of what it’s like supporting almost every other club for most fans

It’s always the managers fault but never the players , anyone can see that if you want to compete with the top teams now you need a whole new defence and you have players who blow hot and cold like rashford and martial .
Your best players are Bruno garnacho , Casemiro and hoijland, you could genuinely say the rest are not good enough for a club as big as Man U .
Then you have recruitment that has been wrong up until I’d say recently where I’d say hoijland and garnacho have been good signings , previously recruitment has cherry picked obvious players like mount with no real thought in it , just bought him cos it’s mount and thrown cash at the deal .
Need to start recruiting some up and coming hidden talent and start phasing the usual lot out .
Players like gakpo, gvardiol, palmer ,doku is who Man U should have gone for but garnacho and hoijland will be worth it

The idea that Ole didn't have a style of play is laughable. If anything Ole was closer to being this great transitional side that ETH claims he wants to be. It might not have been pretty or the most successful but the fact is that you knew how United were going to set up under Ole, put players behind the ball and look to transition quickly on the counter mostly through getting the ball to Bruno and him looking for Rashford.
Also (this is mostly aimed at the comments here, not this podcast, though Neville has said it in the past) can we stop with this narrative that the board hasn't backed the managers please? United have only been outspent by Chelsea and City in the last 5 years, only City in the last decade and by nobody since the inception of the Premier League. Yes, the Glazers pocket a lot of money, yes the club generates a lot of money, but the club also operates at a net loss - hence the debts - and continues to spend in the market to remain "relevant". I am in no way saying the Glazers are the perfect owners, but the idea that United haven't spent enough money is laughable, if you want to talk about how it was spent and on who, that's a topic of conversation worth having, but not the fact that they aren't backing the managers financially.

On paper ETH's win % is the 2nd highest after Michael Carrick who only managed for 3 games. However, on the pitch there is no style and seems they are trying to wing it week to week. Recruitment has been really bad and so many mistakes have been done with given certain players a contract (Jones before he was finally released) .
I don't know how they approved Antony for £82 Mil purchase.
The fact that Martial is still at the club says a lot about the direction the club is heading.
Playing Shaw instead of Varane in CB against Newcastle.
Sancho exiled from the first team and probably playing FIFA instead of given the chance to earn his place.
Signing Mount was a big mistake as they dont have a position for him
Amrabat on the bench for each game
Buying Van de Beek and not playing him
The club has been mismanaged since Sir Alex has left. They've had so many managers since he retired and none of them have been able to fix the problem. Mourinho came close but he was let go because of Pogba feud (who was let go for free anyway). I'm not sure anyone can fix the problems United have.

If Salah had signed for Utd at the same time he came to Liverpool I think he would probably have 80ish goals instead of the 200 he has at Liverpool, and if Rashford had played with Klopp during all that time, in a settled system, with the confidence that Klopp instills in his players I genuinely think he would be world-class and getting 23-30 goals a season. So many players have lost their careers at Utd in the last 10 years. Almost nobody has increased in value during their time there. Mount, Onana and Hoijlund are just the latest examples to follow the well-worn pattern.
Something is rotten to the core and it affects every player who goes there and every manager ends up in the same position. I honestly couldn't see Klopp or Guardiola fixing it. It's hard to imagine a solution, except maybe selling the entire squad and starting with 30 completely new players who aren't carrying all the negativity of the last ten years.

No one but the media blamed Cr7, but he was a continuous problem we have had for years signing past it at the end of the career players.
They need to sign for a winning team, not a team trying to build. ETH was right to quickly shift CR7 on as much as I love all he has done for our club.
He was too big an ego to keep control of. What it showed was that no one is safe under his management if he can let a superstar like Cr7 walk out of the club.
But obviously, we still have players there who think they are CR7. Once he gets rid of them, then you will see proper change.
Notice how the younger players are performing better than the senior stars. Wonder why, could it be no ego and actually follow ETH instructions.

Issue you have is playing fun football normally takes time, so lets say they get a manager in that plays nice attractive football and they go 10 games losing by 2/3 4 they would be sacked in half a season. Yet after maybe a season or 2 it starts to work took Pep a while and lots of money same with Arteta 3 seasons. Wenger slightly quicker with less money spent.

This is mental, why is there such an inquest from the media and pundits everytime Man Utd lose or play poorly. The way they talk is like they’re surprised. I’m used to this now, yet the media and pundits go on like it’s new. It’s the fact of who they’re that get them through some games 1 nils’ etc hence their goal difference amongst the others in the top 6/7. People need to just accept that they’re not good enough and who cares why ? It’s happened to other clubs and the inquests aren’t anywhere near as damning when it’s Man Utd. It’s like a relative has died when the pundits talk about them.

I wonder if Gary knows he’s doing United a real disservice. He’s a huge voice that United fans listen to and he never calls out the lazy players like Bruno, Rashford, Martial. He always blames managers and the Glazers so many United fans follow him. Ten Hag can only do so much, come match day it’s up to the players. The players need to understand that they have to step up or they should be forced out. That being said crack on lads. After growing up in the 90’s it’s great to see 🤣
