    As a Burnley fan, I was really annoyed by his decision to abandon Muric, Benson and Zaroury, who were three players totally instrumental in our success. He deserves credit for the manner of our promotion, but his stubbornness and lack of loyalty/trust in the players is a massive reason why we were so embarrassing to watch in the Premier League this season.

      I'm surprised that you are surprised that people aren't "loyal" nowadays. I also don't think it is fair to judge people who make decisions for their career. He does not owe anyone anything. That being said.. I am traditional and would have had more respect if he stayed at Burnley and built his own there.

    As a German football fan I really love this appointment, this means more chaos in Bayern, especially once a few games start going against them and Harry Kane not able to match his last season (remember that a third of his goals where penalties), and hopefully at least two or three years of someone else to win the league! I believe Kompany is enough of a departure from the stereotypical 'no name player but tactical genius' trope we kept employing as coaches while steadily decling over the past 2-3 years that he might just be what the players need, especially since talent was never their problem but mentality - as in keeping concentration high in domestic matches - definitely was. And a 1.90m believable and intimidating former man city captain sounds like an experiment worth a try over someone like rangnick and flick who I was both particularly dreading. I feel we might just have stumbled into something here

    Because he worked under Pep is the reason. It's not for CV as a manager. People will say Arsenal did the same thing with Arteta, but the big difference is Arteta is a former Arsenal player so already knew how the club operated. Is the premier league going through a Bill Belichick-Patriots phase? For those with an idea about the NFL, the Patriots were for about 2 or so decades one of the best run and most successful teams. Or is the correct American phrase franchise?
    Anyway, because they had so much success with what was called the Patriot way, teams kept hiring Bill's assistants in the hope of duplicating that success. Or signing former Patriot players. But none of these coaches ever came close to having the same impact for various reasons (or maybe one big reason called Tom Brady). The poster child of this being long time assistanr Josh Mcdaniels. Time will tell but as great as Pep is, there is only one of him. And some teams might learn this the hard way

    • @thejoulesthief6841
      @thejoulesthief6841 3 месяца назад +3

      Yes and no. Belichick's assistants were usually hired and fired pretty quickly since most of them were/are quite bad. At the very least, Arteta & Enrique are success stories which is more than ANY Belichick coach.

    • @seemourbutts6679
      @seemourbutts6679 3 месяца назад

      No not all and NFL is gay. If arteta didn’t play for Arsenal he might not have even got the job. Bayern can’t find a manager, kompany has proven that he can coach an attractive style of football that wins most games when he has the better players on the pitch like he did in the championship and like he will in Germany but what he didn’t have this year in the premier league. The fact he was a top player and a highly respected leader and captain means he will automatically get the by in of the players which the new manager problem wouldn’t get if he was a Kieran McKenna up and coming unknown type

    • @kvu8843

      Belichick has a defensive background, Pep is a revolutionary offensive coach. Pep's pipeline are more progressive coaches which would be comparable to Shanahan/McVay in NFL. Belichick's disciples are more defensive or Saban, whos in college level and also built organizational advantage.
      Organizational success would be more akin to Real Madrid or Bayern, which mostly succeed with a variety of coaches - Mourinho, Zidane, Ancelotti or Heynckes and Flick

    • @JR-sj1jz
      @JR-sj1jz 3 месяца назад +2

      @kvu8843 Luis Enrique is older than Pep. How can be part of Pep's pipeline? And Xabi Alonso played for Ancelloti, Mourinho and Rafa Benitez amongst others. We are really stretching things here calling these two part of Pep's pipeline.

      @thejoulesthief6841 when did Pep mentor Luis Enrique, who by the way is older than Pep? And with all due respect to Arteta, he is yet to win the same titles as Pep. And ultimately that's why Pep has been called the greatest because beyond just.playing well, he has won titles.

    I'm tired of this Vincent talk , I want to see quality signings at the club and get rid of the overpaid dead weight players.

    No real experience as a coach in a top team, has to rebuild the squad, will be going up against super Leverkusen next season... I give him 3 months and he will be sacked.

      Doesnt rebuild the squad himself, the sport director takes a big load of that.

      90% of their points were goals jn the 99nth minute... This is luck,not " determination". If you re that determined to win,you kill the game early. Not in the stoppage time.
