The Athletic carried out analysis on United under Ole and Rangnick and in both games they looked at it came back to Rashford not tracking back, losing his men and not putting in the effort and 2 / 3 years later were still talking about him. So overrated it's unreal
In a low block and he's not the only one unfortunately. Garnacho is looking like another who seems lost when he starts games. His tracking back is more of a hinderence

Pellistri is a hard runner who tracks back,defends perfect then runs to attack and sets up goals .Uruguay start him in International games for a reason. There is a game United recently won 1:0 Pellistri came on and it was his run and fight down the right that saved the day..in a few minutes he did more than Antony,sancho ,Rashford all season down the wings... Maguire ,Mctominay were on selling list in Sumner, no change they have Never been Good enough for now 3 years and they are still hanging around the club
That's why Nunez got so much respects from the Liverpool fans , the dude missed couple of goals and hit the posts a lots, but man this dude never gave up, never put his head down, never seeing him walking on the pitch that's the difference. I can remember Wayne Rooney, more than once, chasing all the way back to make crucial defensive tackles...putting in a real shift...and he's a legend at United. Too many current United players are not prepared to work hard...they want the ball, but won't work hard to win it back.
People applaud Bruno for doing that, but fail to recognize it's ONLY when he's upset, it's not the norm. When he's baby raging, that's the only time you see him bust a lung to get back and win the ball (lost count of the amount of times he just drags someone down for a foul instead)

Honestly I used to love Man United as a club. Not my favorite club I just respected the amount of talent and hard work they had on the squad back then.
Rooney easily the hardest working player ever, just such a beast tackling, assists and goals. If you watch him and most of the team they all worked so hard. Feels like all the players (especially for some reason United players) are a lot softer now

This is obviously based on his body language and how he moved the goalposts. Though I agree having someone as a devils advocate type pundit is good for punditry like this but it doesn’t really work unless there’s something to debate. For example the show where they have a bunch of fan channels and other fans come into one of their studios and ask the fans questions about football and their teams is where Micah would actually thrive in my opinion but instead they have him on a more serious settin

Newcastle are an incredibly hard working team to a man. Every single one of them chases every ball every single time. That high tempo and relentless energy is why they are doing so well under Howe. Despite having more than a full squad worth of injuries and also having played mid week. But playing Man U the other night really demonstrated the contrasting mentality of both teams. One team wants to win and go places, and probably will. The other team is Manchester United.

Carragher has it spot on when it comes to rashford and local players.
Even though Dan Burn & Sean Longstaff are injured, they still attended the game, and were seen waiting in the tunnels.
Say what you want about talent & footballing ability. Dan Burn offers more for Newcastle than Rashford does for United

I always believed that one definition of being "Professional" was doing your job even when you dont feel like it.
Rashford isn't the only one but I think it's clear he doesn't have the mental strength to play for Utd. He's a passenger when things get tough and that's being kind. Doesn't matter about your confidence, off field issues. You're a professional player and there's no excuse under the sun for putting in as little effort as he has been for a lot of this season, not just against Newcastle. He's ok when the team plays well and other players are leading the way but he's not a leader by example. Martinez aside, none of them have any mental strength. The entire squad needs to be scrapped, this manager may not be the answer but no manager can work with players that crumble under every setback and act out when things don't go their way. It's a cultural problem coupled with fragmented and poor recruitment. Changing manager and letting him over spend for 2 windows is not the answer and they keep repeating the cycle. The model needs to change to a director hierarchy and then they can identify the right manager with the style they want and ensure the squad is overhauled beyond a brief tenure.
he's never been good enough tbh. low football iq, low work rate, bad heading, suspect finishing and worst of all he is very inconsistent. just a streaky player with bad form outweighting the good. Nice technique and above average but not elite dribbler. the only thing elite about him is his pace. could be used in a proper team with a proper game plan but he is not and never will be the best player on the pitch for a team contending for biggest trophies.

Been calling Rashford out for years mate, even during the purple patches. His overall game and his attitude are well below the standards of a top player. Fans fooled by his pr bluff and RUclips compilations, obviously haven't had to watch him every week for 90 mins like we do.

As a liverpool fan, when our team went through long long tunnel without light 12 years ago, I had no day for drying my eyes in every seasons. Keane and Carra know what local boy means and what should they do for their symbol on their shirts.
I have to agree with Roy/Jaime. You can see the approach with some of the senior players like Rashford is rubbing off on the younger players. Look at the work rate of Garnacho for example vs Newcastle. When you allow players to walk around and sulk like Sancho, Rashford, Fernandes, Martial, it sets the standard for the younger players

Martial has been here since 2015, Rashford 2015, McTominay 2016, AWB 2019, Dalot 2018, as much as I was impressed by them yesterday Maguire has been here since 2019 and Shaw 2014. They have went through LVG, Jose, Ole, Rangnick, and now Ten Hag. Along with Lindelof 2017 I can't believe some of them are still playing for Manchester United when the same things keeps happening during big matches like this and the managers saying the same things for the last 5+ years. Lazy and Uninspiring, the only reason we haven't got rid of any of them is because we're paying them 100k to 350k for dragging us unconvincingly to TOP 4 every season and no one else with good business sense would pay that kind of wages.
I think it's time to accept that the Manager is not the problem. It's the players.
Just glad to see that others see what I think. The players listed there have got away with it for too long and we've put them on big contracts. They'll continue to get managers sacked. I'm not massively fussed with ten haags tactics, but we can't keep sacking managers and keeling these players

They talk about Martial not trying, with all the injuries martial has had and a loan spell, he’s managed 90 goals in 316 appearances for Man Utd in his career, Rashford who been able to stay mostly fit throughout his senior career and never had loan spell elsewhere has 125 goals in 377 appearances, he has made 61 more appearances and only managed 35 more goals than martial. But for some reason Martial doesn’t try and don’t care apparently 👀

The team is built around him, so all other 9 outfield players ran, defend and press in his absence, so that when there's turnover Messi will be at his optimum fitness to run the game.
For Rashford, he is not at that Messi level and doesn't have the luxury of good players in his team to do the same defending and pressing in his absence, so he MUST be part of the team to defend & press.

Would love to see Roy invited to be a consultant at United on a short term basis purely to galvanize the team. Tactics and team selection are down to the manager but TH just doesn’t seem to have the chops to motivate the players. Roy’s track record suggests he’s not much of a coach but in terms of setting standards and inspiring others to take responsibility for living up to them, I think he could be second to none.
