    What is that device plugged into the wire harness leading to the engine air filter box?

    I lived in Houston at that time and used Amsoil in a new 530i and then it started to use oil between fills. I quit that stuff. In any Diesel motor frequency of oil changes and filters and fuel filters is more important than brands of good oil. Your transmission changes are best to keep the valve body and other parts clean over a 400K miles use. Let the motor warm up before starting off in the morn and let it turn over for 30 seconds before driving off after a visit to Walmart. Give the motor time to circulate the fluids.

    Not sure I would attempt but I would save lots of money! $350 for oil change! But I not intimidated to consider. I am short, so ladder is a must. Thanks for video! 👍👍

    How do you reset oil on a 2019 model? It more of a touch screen on steering knob and over head digital display
    Might want to do more research on the 2019
    I worked for Salt Lake Express and having trouble resetting the oil on 2019 models, 4 of them

    Should never use engine flush as you can never get it all out before you put the new oil in. The remaining flush left in dilutes the oil and it loses its friction prevention capacity. Just run the oil upto temp before changing it.

      Don't waste money on that stuff. A regular oil change is all that's needed.

      I agree with Mark. There is no need to run a flush if you change the filter and use spec oil. Also, makes me wonder why you do not put the full amount of oil after a drain. Going partial fill on most motors is needless and uses your valuable time. Just fill the whole amount and check for leaks. Listen to the motor when you do that partial new oil fill and you can hear things in the motor that correlate to insufficient oil in the pan. It is misleading to make a vid with your partial fill technique that others may follow in ignorance.

    Oil filter cap should be tightened to about 25nm. It says so on the cap itself.
    It seals by the O ring, doing it up extra tight wont help it seal, more than likely damage it.

    How come you didn't change the fuel filter, also how often do you do your oil changes?

    • @ericmaskell3278
      @ericmaskell3278  5 лет назад +2

      I change my oil every 10,000 miles. the manual says every 20,000. I am making a video of changing the Fuel filter next.

    Now the whole inside of your engine is coated in kerosene ..that's more or less what the engine cleaner is...now you put your new oil in and run the engine and all that remaining cleaner is mixed with your new clean oil for the next 10 thousand miles...even minuet amounts of kerosene will eat away at your bearings

    Does anyone ever get the oil pressure light, that comes on only when I am on the hwy? I have a 2018 3.0L 170. When I slow down, the light goes off.

    • @ericmaskell3278
      @ericmaskell3278  5 лет назад +2

      I had that happen if you put just a little too much oil in. It’s the oil level light. It only seems to happen on the highway or going up a steep hill. I just remove a few oz of oil out through the dip tube. Hope this helps.
