I know kilim is fucking brilliant not only does he have the singing chops but also the mannerisms and same pyscho engery Steve Martin and Douglas still brought to the part
This was a really great interpretation of Orrin, he clearly was having a great time with it too. Steve Martin's still my favorite (because Steve Martin) but I like that he did something different AND well. Mama would be proud....
Hoo boy I am _in love_ with this Orin! He's got the perfect combination of hilarious and scary. I really want Little Shop to get revived again and have Taran be Orin(and I know this was just encores but I'd hope they'd add a greaser type wig bc as amazing as Taran is he looks kind of adorable to be Orin lol)
People who don't like this interpretation need to realise the stage musical has a more chilled, 1960's, "Leader of the Pack" vibe to this song. Whereas Steve Martin was really exaggerated and goofy but it's not actually supposed to be like that in the actual musical, it's kinda more slow and chilled and smooth.
But I don't like it because I prefer Douglas's yaknow the broadway adaptation before this one I like Steve's but I prefer Douglas I'm not saying I hate it but you have to be a certain amount of gay and not sane to be orin
wtf i was watching the glee episode community with my roommates the other day and made a comment about how he would make an awesome casting for Orin????? AND THEN I CAME ACROSS THIS TODAY????
he has a gorgeous voice and his acting is incredible, but in my opinion he just doesnt really look the part. by growing his hair out and styling it to be more like that of a greaser, he would look better. although i do appreciate the fact they seemed to modernize this performance a bit more
NO BUT THE WAY THEY JUST STOOD THERE LOOK AT HIM LIKE HE WAS CARZY IS PERFECT I don't like Taran's orin all that much but there are some good moments in dentist
Does his name tag say "Dr. Scrivello, D.D.S."? If so, and I hate to be that guy, but that's incorrect. It's either "Dr. Scrivello" or "Orin Scrivello, D.D.S.".
Something's a bit off with Taran. I think he has too much of a babyface to be the dentist. Doesn't have the sadistic look that Steve Martin gave off in the movie. He's definitely one of the better dentists that's been on stage but gotta work on that laugh. No where near as wild as Douglas Sills dentist laugh.
Simon Vs The World It's different which I like. Most people just try to copy Steven Martin instead of trying something new. I also like Franc Luz's version too.
he KILLED it wow. he had the audience in the palm of his hand im in shock.
I know kilim is fucking brilliant not only does he have the singing chops but also the mannerisms and same pyscho engery Steve Martin and Douglas still brought to the part

Wait what about Douglas he was perfect
Martin was good but it was strange hearing everyone in NY accents and for some strange reason he played Orin with a somewhat southern accent.
@@bfettrules1239Martin’s accent choice was leaning into the song being (at least partly) an Elvis pastiche.
Really? Because my takeaway from this is that you can totally make it big after being the most mildly decent person in your community theater.
He's missing the gay that's the issue
this performance deserves its own fandom
HE IS SO PERFECT FOR THIS ROLE
He is perfect for the role. He has the right energy, voice, and timing.
Taran is amazing at this role (and in general)This role just fit him like a glove!
He did great! He kept everything that was a signature of this role and made it his own.
OMG TARAN FROM SNL! I had no idea he did theatre! ICON
I didn't realize until after watching this how much shit I've seen that he's in.
He was also in Hamilton on Broadway for a while. He played King George.
A great interpretation of the dentist! Love it!
Oh my god I love Taran even more
People who don't like this interpretation need to realise the stage musical has a more chilled, 1960's, "Leader of the Pack" vibe to this song. Whereas Steve Martin was really exaggerated and goofy but it's not actually supposed to be like that in the actual musical, it's kinda more slow and chilled and smooth.
The movie version is actually a little uptempo too. I actually don’t really like the movie ver.
But I don't like it because I prefer Douglas's yaknow the broadway adaptation before this one I like Steve's but I prefer Douglas I'm not saying I hate it but you have to be a certain amount of gay and not sane to be orin
Taran Killam rocked this role!
I dont care what you people say, but his portrayal is TOO DANG GOOD.
He owns it , I thought nobody could out do , Steve Martin , I was wrong .
All he does is copy all of Steve Martin's actions and inflections. This is a boring portrayal.
@@PapagenoMF he did almost nothing that Steve did. this is very different.
Wow this is amazing. He just completely went for it and it paid off! Incredible
I had no idea that man could sing so well. He did a great job with all of it!
True I mean the way he acts off the other actors and manically dnaces across the stage is fantastic
So excited to see him play King George III this March!
Everyone go home. This is the best portrayal of the dentist.
+Sarah V Not really when he said bash its head there was nothing behind it. Steve martin was the best.
Douglas Sills...........
hi, i'm christian if only I could like your comment more than once
Mine was way better omg😂
He is really freaking great, but it's hard to beat Steve Martin.
Taran's just so adorable oh my god
This is the best version I’ve ever seen
taran my fave snl person. awesome !!!!!
Taran Killam....TARAN KILLED IT
also he intros the song like a real whole-ass crazy person and I'm living for it!!!!
I can see why Taran was cast as the Glee club director in Community
Although Steve Martin will always be my fave Dr. Scrivello, Taran does the best acting and and singing as his role.
I miss him on SNL. but he killed this part!! so freaking hilarious!
one of my fave songs of the musical! he did it well 👌
He's incredible I was crying with laughter the first time I watched this😅😂
The irony of his surname being killam...
I just realized he's from SNL
I love Taran so much
hello new celebrity crush that i didnt ask for
Why do i feel called out
His performance is brilliant
Could his comedic timing be any more perfect?
I should’ve known Taran would be the perfect dentist
This one is still one of the best portrayals along with Steve
This is wild because I KNEW Taran Killam would KILL as Orrin, but I had no idea he actually ever did the role! Looks like I was right!
wtf i was watching the glee episode community with my roommates the other day and made a comment about how he would make an awesome casting for Orin????? AND THEN I CAME ACROSS THIS TODAY????
This guy and Steve Martin tie as my favorite actors for Orin lol
Excellent
(also realized that Taran is a bit of a babyface??)
Sorry but that “Somewhere in heaven above me” HOLY SHIT
He was so good very impressed. Sounds like him too.
Okay but why wasn't he cast in this apparent movie remake of Little Shop?!
Because the director or casting director make bad life choices.
Congratulations to the new King George III!
Praxibetel Ix you mean the second
Oh my gosh Ellen Greene still as Audrey!❤
Taran is so damn good.
Did Audrey from the movie walking out catch anyone else off guard XD
YO I HAD NO IDEA HE PLAYED THE DENTIST IN THIS PRODUCTIONS THATS SO COOOOL
A college near me had students do the little shop of horrors and the dentist looked like danny zuko
Energetic
I FUCKING LOVE THIS HES PERFECT
The show does such a good job building up that he’s actually a dentist and a stereotypical 50s greaser!
I honestly think Brendon Urie would slay this role! ♡
No....not really. Doesn't have the voice. Yes he REALLY has the looks, but his voice wouldn't fit the role
Brendon Urie as Audrey II. Change my mind.
John Doe is it crack? is that what you smoke? you smoke crack?
“Now spit....” LOL
He's really good, but I noticed that in all the songs for this production, it sounds like they slowed down the tempo. Not crazy about that.
Well done. Steve is still the man.
Bravo!
Anyone think Jonathan Groff could be a dentist?
UM. YES!
I love Taran as the dentist
Keep it clean because here I come 2:02
Best orins
#1 taran killam
#2 christain borlw
#3 Steve Martin
Is that the dude from Saturday night live
he has a gorgeous voice and his acting is incredible, but in my opinion he just doesnt really look the part. by growing his hair out and styling it to be more like that of a greaser, he would look better. although i do appreciate the fact they seemed to modernize this performance a bit more
no cuz i love taran killam more than anything
Cool
Legally, nobody can play Audrey except Ellen Greene. I think it would even defy a couple of laws of physics if anybody else tried.
NO BUT THE WAY THEY JUST STOOD THERE LOOK AT HIM LIKE HE WAS CARZY IS PERFECT I don't like Taran's orin all that much but there are some good moments in dentist
the
urchins
are
mwah
Why is Jake on book?
because this is an encores performance. they threw it together fast with little rehearsal
I hear nature cat singing this
Me too
SNL alumni repping. Does anyone who's playing Audrey?
Wow didn’t know he could sing !
He was actually King George in Hamilton
Looks Jimmy the overly touchy orderly (scrubs) is a double doctorate!!
Who knew will from single parents was a dentist
I think Steve Martin is better, but this guy was AMAZING!
I'll admit he's doing a fantastic job. I still want to marry his wife and for him to move to Mars or so.
Does his name tag say "Dr. Scrivello, D.D.S."? If so, and I hate to be that guy, but that's incorrect. It's either "Dr. Scrivello" or "Orin Scrivello, D.D.S.".
well you are that guy
SNL alum doing Orin.
WHY is he crying?
I think it's because of the line before about his mother?
He's sad his Mama died... :(
gary blauman gotta chill
Something's a bit off with Taran. I think he has too much of a babyface to be the dentist. Doesn't have the sadistic look that Steve Martin gave off in the movie. I can imagine Nature Cat singing this song
I don’t like Taran’s choices here and I’m not just comparing him to the goat dentist Steve Martin.

Cool
