    I've had my thunder 380 for 12 years. One of the most solid, best feeling guns I own. Never had an issue. This makes me want to use it as my CCW. Anti-glare slide, adjustable sight, safety, all metal. What's not to like?

    I remember buying your exact Bersa model and color combination back in 2010 as my first handgun. I was on a tight budget. I sold it and got into more high end budget firearms as I financially progressed. Well,last week I was buying a Walther P99 final edition at my local FFL and I came across a used great condition Bersa Thunder CC model all black finish in its original box and original magazine. Seemed the previous owner never shot it!!I offered $175.00 and it came back home with Walther. I always had a soft spot for the Bersa Thunder. Thanks for the video. Thumps up!

    Love my Thunder and Thunder CC, for the price you can't beat it's reliability, functionality and features.
    As far as ammo, been able to by plinking rounds for about 6 months, only two boxes at a time, but hollow points are still on the endangered species list; still down to my last magazine.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  3 года назад +3

      I’m (gene) 44 years old and really need to wear glasses so to be honest I struggle with the sights on both guns as they are both very low profile. With that said a lot of gun manufacturers do that as a “snag free” design which I won’t argue either way. I will say however once I get my sight picture and get focused I don’t recall having an issue staying on target with either gun over the other especially if I have my glasses on. The Bersa Thunder 380 stands out in its class with that 3.5 inch barrel. Longer than most of the other 380' s. Longer barrel equals more muzzle velocity, harder hit and deeper penetration. Its my edc paired with underwood extreme defender ammunition.

    I've bought and sold a couple of these as well and although I have other guns I really missed the little Bersa 380 so I bought another one and am glad I did. I'm not much of a fan of compact guns. They just don't fit well in my hands. For some reason I don't have that issue with the Bersa 380. It feels good in the hand and yet it's so easy to conceal. I can throw this little pistol in just about any pocket and be fine with it. I especially like that. I like to be the last person found out to be armed. I bought my first Bersa 380 in 2005 and qualified for my CHL with it the same year. Great little pistol.

    I own quite the variety of handguns, out of which I would say 3 I actively carry (not all at once lol)
    My main EDC I carry most often is my G26. I think the G26 Glock is by far the best Glock for EDC and its the gun that I feel most confident in.
    My secondary EDC is my EAA vindicator .357 magnum, Its powerful, its cheap, and its just fine for days I want to carry a revolver but not one of my expensive revolvers' like my Colt king cobra
    Now I own one of these Bersa thunders and I'm pretty pleased with the reviews I've seen online for it.
    I really like how small it is and thusly is going to be easier to conceal than any of my other guns, even the Glock 26. I also think of the 380 as a safer bullet in terms of collateral damage. Now in my Glock I run Hornady CD and G19 magazines with x Grip extensions to give myself a really good purchase on the grip when shooting. 9mm is a fine round, I do stand by it, but the 380 has WAY LESS penetration. Meaning far less of a chance that bullet, if missed the target would go through someone's home and kill someone that bullet wasn't meant to. Same deal with body penetration. If some crazy man or women with a gun needs to be shot, especially in a high population area with people all around, I want that bullet to stop no matter where I end up hitting them. I don't want to to go through them and hit someone behind them. I also really like the fixed barrel design. Its going to be inherently more accurate than a traditionally semi auto pistol because the barrel does not move with the slide going back. The one big negative I could say about the Bersa so far is simply the cartridge and capacity. We are talking 8 rounds of .380. Cant really afford to be missing with that capacity. Also really important to find some good hollow points and maybe a meg carrier. Ive carried 1911's and revolvers with about the same limitations, difference is those guns are way more powerful than a .380.
    Basically the Bersa wins for me in the department of, concealability, ease of use, Cheap gun that wont set me back at all if something happened to it, and accuracy and recoil are easy to control and achieve. Other than those things, I do own betetr CCW's but this one is a welcome edition to my collection forsure Nd im sure ill find a proper application for carrying it.

      @@GSquaredTactical Tbh with you, the day I bought it I bought a nice leather holster for it and the first time I tried to draw the gun just to test it out, the whole grip came off the gun and left the revolver in the holster. I bought a new grip for it and put it on and haven't had any issues with it yet. The trigger is horrible in double action but the single action isn't bad at all, and DA is still usable especially under 10 yards. Its easy to conceal lol. I do trust EAA and the vindicator, its a tank of revolver, its no Colt or S&W but it does barely meet the standards in my mind, for a CCW (probably better as a back up ankle gun)

Good luck finding extra magazines though at this point in time. I have only found 2, on ebay from the same seller and they wanted $170 per. Had to pass. These type of pistols, with the barrel solidly fixed to the frame, tend to be more accurate than other designs. IMHO, one of my Bersas is an older, double-stack, steel-frame model, with factory rubber grips. It has the nicest double-action trigger, and it's the most comfortable-shooting, blowback .380 I've ever tried. I never experienced 'bite' with these, or other pistols. Guess I'm holding them wrong!

      I've owned 2 Bersas since 2017 and I recently (06/24) , replaced the recoil springs on my Thunder 380 and 380 CC. On the Wolff Springs website, you can get 16, 17 or 18 lbs springs. I choose the 17 lbs Walther PP for the Thunder 380 and the 17 lbs Walther PPK for the CC. It tamed the recoil unbelieveably!!!! Now they are extremely better and softer shooters than before. I got the idea from a RUclips video...these upgrades comes highly recommended, if felt recoil is an issue.

    Why should .380 be "a difficult round to find"? It's one of the most popular and most produced handgun ammo, obtainable around the world (in Europe, it is called "9 millimeter short" or "9mm kurtz" or similarly, depending on a language used locally).

You need it to shoot relatively accurate & fast 1~2 rounds, maximum 3 , to stop someone attacking you. Don't you have "rounds" with a lazer integrated to see where you heet from a distance of 3~6 yards ? Very odd

    2. When you loaded the magazine is slide itself loaded

    • @gregb6469
      @gregb6469 2 года назад +3

      As for #2, it is designed to close the slide when the mag is inserted with enough force, so that wasn't a malfunction.

    • @GSquaredTactical
      @GSquaredTactical  2 года назад +1

      Not sure what errors you are referring to. Don’t know what you mean by “the magazine didn’t stay open.” I assume you mean the slide didn’t lock open on a empty mag but that occasionally happens on a lot of guns. Also, not sure what you mean by “is the slide itself loaded.” I assume you mean when mag is inserted into magwell is there one in the chamber. Not unless you release the slide by pulling back or pushing the slide lock down with your thumb. Greg B is correct if you slam the mag in hard enough slide will close. We don’t necessarily recommend doing this on the regular but In a stressed situation can be very effective. Thanks for watching and commenting and be sure to subscribe if you haven’t already. Just got the TPR combat plus .380 to replace my Hk p30L as my main carry with a Walther PPK/s .22 as backup (I challenge anyone to take an aguila interceptor .22 to the balls, gut, heart and head in .22 or .380, or knees) I’m a combat vet and while I have extensive experience with over 35 pistols owned and operated I really landed on this the cost, the ability to train safely several
    People in my life, the da/sa trigger is amazing and 16 rounds in a very compact fantastic package
    I plan on a Walther pd380 and smith and Wesson equalizer and Taurus 853 as next in my pistol lineup unless I go balls deep for a Walther q5 match steel frame for competition or deck out a 1911. Wisu I could get a 2011 buuut
    All this said I took my Walther ppk out and my Hk and kicked some ass against several pigs (sorry not sorry I have very little respect for cops esp ones with match grade decked out taran tactical Glocks and the like.) anyway, blowback design is still the best point shooter around imo
    Which is why after many many years I never got rid of my m9. I stay with my p30 with grayguns trigger mods in which really makes it a runner but what was awesome was beating a few shooters in a friendly completion with the tpr .380. I just can’t get over how nice the da/sa is on it
    FYI CIVIL Defense ammo which is basically .22 in grain in my 9mm it’s 50 in the .380 it’s around 40 but holy shit the ballistics are insane on them. As far as I know the ammo was developed here in Utah and I tried the “beta” versions (ammo .inc, think they sold it to the other guys and they refined it l)
    Anyway, I just love finding deals like these $300 guns that prove the shooter behind it counts more than these super high end pistols which yes see awesome of course, I’ve had several myself but I’ve also shot nearly as well with a stock GI rock island 1911 as I did my buddy’s Kimber rapide and outshot him tho that Isn’t saying much as he is highly inexperienced
    I’m rambling I know but my overall point is shot placement is key and s good point shooter for carry and a good revolver for little .22 as backup IF you need it (I work armed security a few times a month inasmuch as I can with my injuries I’m limited unfortunately)
    Anyway any variation of these great Walther PPK clones are hard to beat for the buck!

      Yes sir and thank you for serving and watching our video. People come at us all the time when we shoot .32 acp, .380 or .22 and tell us we might as well not even carry and I too challenge them to walk down range and take a couple lol. I can put 16 rounds into a half dollar size hole without missing one at 12 or 15 yards in a matter of seconds maybe 2 and I don’t see anyone walking away from that. Tried contacting bersa and just got the run around multiple times. the bersa company will not lift a finger to help a customer. Those people are absolute garbage, buy at your own risk.
