I love Holo Taco! It’s the only polish I use. It does take some getting used to if you don’t paint your own nails a lot. Peel off base is really only for if you want polish to last like a day. And if you’re using protective peel, only do one hand at a time to stop the sticking together. I always use the Glossy Taco as well because it dries your polish super fast!
I can get peely base to last up to 14 days on my nails. It's all about prepping your hand before hand. I wash and scrub my nails then wipe the nail with acetone one more time before applying peely base :)
Holo Taco is the absolute best!!!! And with any protective peel, I do just 4 fingers first and do my thumbs last just so I don’t accidentally hit my other fingers and get all messed up lol
Like a few others have said, mixing two peel away products is definitely going to cause some issues. If you want to try Holo Taco again, I recommend the smoothing base. It's excellent and self levels to an extent, making it a bit easier to apply. I also recommend only using peely base *edit: protective peel* on one hand at a time, and always use a top coat.. Not a pro, but I've been doing my own nails for 20 years. Hope that helps!

I've tried with drug store polishes and most don't hold up nearly as well, even when everything else is done the same. So for me, the quality of the polish is what I think makes the difference 🙂
Also, apply your base coat over top freshly acetone’d nails. The oils from your nails or from hand soaps, etc can interfere with it adhering to your nail. That was a tip from Suzie (NCE) and it WORKS. My nails last until I get bored of the color and want to change it out (>14 days usually). Mixing and matching top coats, base coats, and polishes can also contribute to service breakdown. using top, base, and polish from the same brands really does make a difference in wear time (I exclusively use static nails for cremes and holo taco for fun polishes so it isn’t a big deal for me to have 2 different base coats and 2 different top coats). My tip for things like the protective peel is to only do one hand at a time to reduce your fingers sticking together and needing to redo it. Peel off base coats don't last very long, Cristine has some tips on how to get more wear from it, but it's best use is with heavy glitter polishes that are brutal to remove (like the new holiday collection). And the toppers are not top coats, you still need a finishing top coat of some kind. Generally you want to peel up the protective peel stuff before the polish is fully dry so it comes away cleanly, whereas dry polish will be jagged. And yes, applying peel off base coat so it touches the protective peel will peel it all up.
Was soooo happy to see you try Holo Taco! I paint my nails a lot now and love her line. The brand concept is specialty polishes that are either packed with glitters, shifting pigments, beautiful metallics, really pigmented cremes that sometimes only need one coat, and specialty toppers to transform any polish to something more special. Her glossy top coats are quick drying and make any polish dry fast and last longer. I hate to say there were some user errors with here and want others to know how amazing her polishes are. Peely base should really only be used if you want the polish to come off easily in a day (like a glitter or for a special occasion) and you can apply it in a specific way to work better, leaving some of you nail around the edges uncovered by base coat to make the regular polish stick better. Always use a glossy top coat to seal in a manicure, which we missed here 😉. Even if you are using the protective peel, still be careful not to flood your cuticle. It's not meant for that. Holo Taco Tips: Open all of your boxes before you start. Do one hand at a time. (It savea you time and heart ache in the long run). Watch HoloTaco's official videos on HOW to use specialty products. Peel base is not meamt to be applied from edge to edge. You want to have a small boarder of "naked" nail around the edge and they will last much longer but still have the peely benefits. :)
I would highly recommend getting the Holo Taco nail brush! I guess you could also use a concealer brush, but the one from Holo is so tiny, it’s perfect. I am horrible at painting my nails, and after some thinking, I figured the peel stuff would be too complicated for me haha. The long lasting base and the one coat black too, HIGHLY recommend. I don’t even look at trying other black polishes now. I’m also a store stocker, so I’m rough in my hands/nails, and the base does help keep color down longer!
Just took off Frozen Benana, it’s my fav! The pesky base I can’t never get to last for me no matter how I prep just doesn’t work on my nails but long lasting base is amazing. Watching you struggle with the liquid latex giving me flashbacks of my first use… didn’t go well.
How did the candles smell?! Frostbeard Studios has a line of soy candles that seem more affordable than most (maybe because they also offer small sizes) that are inspired by different books, if you're looking for other candles to try. I haven't tried them yet but hope to get some soon, for me and as Christmas gifts. I'm sensitive to overpowering scents (and especially floral ones) so I'm excited that I can try small ones to find ones I can tolerate without paying too much.
Holo Taco fan and avid nail painter here! Protective Peel needs to be on only your skin without touching your nail at all. Honestly, I'm not great at staying in the lines either, but I just clean up the polish mess as well as I can with acetone and let the other bits of polish come off my skin in the shower. Protective Peel is mostly helpful if you'll be sponging on glitter or a gradient or doing other messy things like a full-nail stamp design. Peely Base is my favorite base coat ever! I use it on my left hand every time I do my nails. The way to make the polish last longer with Peely is to not put the base coat all the way to the edges. I put Peely Base almost to the top, sides, and tip of my nails, then put the polish itself all the way to each edge and I wrap the tip. I hardly ever have my peelies pop too early; I change my polish about once a week usually and the polish stays on until I'm ready for it to come off. I will say that Peely Base is harder to use on your dominant hand because the peelies are more likely to fall off prematurely due to using your hand more. Also, a quick-dry top coat (like Glossy Taco or Super Glossy Taco in the US) is a life-changer. It won't save your polish from baby fingernails scratching at it, but it lets me do simple tasks pretty soon after I finish painting and it helps prevent chipping. My right hand will usually get some minor chipping throughout the week, but I hardly ever get chips on my left hand. I used to never bother with top or base coats (and I still don't usually put a base coat on my right hand) until I tried my fist quick-dry and now a glossy top coat is mandatory every time! The glossiness also really brings out the holo.
Sierra Schultzie has some branded products on Harper Wilde. They look like really comfortable sports bras. Can you try those sometime? I'd love to hear your reactions. Keep up the good work!!!!!
For protective peel, I know other people have recommended one hand at I time, I would actually go further to say one nail at a time. That was they don't interact with each other and as it's so fast drying it doesn't really delay anything.
I just wanted to shout out about how much i adore , appreciate, & look up to Rachs healthy, loving, strong relationship with Chris!! Its THEEEE best and my favorite relationship on youtube ❤❤❤ and they're still going strong. They just seem so happy, silly, caring, and like the best of friends ❣️❣️😍
I LOVE Holo Taco!! Only polish I use anymore! But ALWAYS use a top coat to seal nails! Glossy Taco is great and fast drying. And practice makes perfect when painting nails!! xo
Huge fan of Holo Taco. 💅🏻 I have many of the colors and love them. I want the holiday bundle she just dropped recently. The glossy taco topper is great too.
I bought the Hairitage exfoliating scrub immediately after work the day I watched this video. Just tried it last night, and I'm a big fan. I used it while sitting in the bath, because I feel like I would be wasting water showering with the time it took me to scrub my scalp. I'm sure you could do it quicker than I did, but I wanted to take my time and make sure I got everywhere. My scalp just felt really good once I was done. I can struggle with buildup, and this seemed to get rid of most of it. I'm planning on exfoliating once a week from now on!
I SO HIGHLY SUGGEST the shampoo and conditioner from Mindy’s line! My hair has never felt nicer, looked more beautiful, or been healthier!! I suggest shampooing twice if you go more than 3 days in between washes but you do not need to use a lot of product which is really nice. But bottom line is please try their products and your hair will thank you!
Recommended to me because I'm a simply stan but loved your vibe, going to subscribe! It's so nice to see a RUclipsr raising up other RUclipsrs especially black owned brands plus my favourite RUclipsr, simply nailogicial 😍
Top tip! When you use the peely stuff around your fingers, you can add a thin layer of powder on top to stop them from sticking together while you paint your nails! When I figured that out, it was a game changer!
I don't know how women put on those beauty face masks after keeping them in the refrigerator. They are too cold! Warming them up in a bowl of very warm water for 5-10 minutes before opening and applying to the face feels so nice and the warmth makes the serum absorb better. Using it while it's cold will inhibit absorption. I guess the coldness can reduce puffiness, but I would just use a refrigerated face roller for puffiness. Sometimes I warm up my face moisturizer in warm water too. It absorbs so much better!
@@mygirldarby actually I put my moisturizer and an eye serum in it and, even though it keeps my cokes at the edge of ice, it didn’t impress me much with the skin care stuff I put in it. My jade roller was cold but I barely use it so it will mainly be a heavenly little gadget that lets me keep cold or hot actually, anywhere. It even has a car power cord!
I love the Hairitage line. I use the tinted dry shampoo, texturizing spray, the refreshing spray and the dry conditioner. The scent is amazing. I've used everything from Aveda, and Playa to Loreal on my hair and this line is my favorite. I love all of my Dezi sunnies. Thirty Years by Katy has THE most comfortable active wear/Loungewear. Pricey - but I can see wearing these joggers, shorts and uniform tee for YEARS
I LOVE the ACV rinse from Hairitage. She's correct about it smelling BEAUTIFUL. As a person that has BATTLED with dandruff, this stuff has changed my LIFE.
Mindy's products are so super amazing. They smell heavenly. Been using them since they came out and have probably used up 8 bottles of leave in conditioner. It's the best one on the market. Sooooo good. If you have tried it...ya need to!
H💿L💿 Taco is life!! I’ve been using it since the first launch. I may be slightly obsessed!! Peely Base has never worked out great for me long term. However, if I need the mani to only last a few days I use it. The best combo is either Smoothing Base or Long Lasting Base and the Super Glossy Taco (must have!).
Oh. I didnt even know the peely base had instructions lol. I just put it all over and waited a long aft time for a really good cure on it before doing the polish lol. The middle thing makes way more sense lol. I ended up just using it under heavy glitters bc glitters are evil to get off later lol
That has been my problem with pealy base. I only use smoothing base from HT since i go to school and constantly reaching in to my bag to get things and pealy base just chips so easily on me, the longest i have gotten it to last is a couple days which is great if you are wearing glitter for a family get together or something and want it on for a day or two. Also, Use a fast dry clear top coat please, it will help your nails dry faster and you will be able to get to all the things you need to do faster.
I love all the Holo Taco stuff. I would suggest only doing one hand at a time with the protective peel. 😂 The Frozen Benanas color for the birthday was stunning and I don't even like yellow. Also, use tweezers to pull off the protective peel. 🙂
The Hairitage ACV rinse saved my scalp! I have a majorly dry scalp and had to undergo scalp treatments. But the ACV rinse has helped clear it up almost completely.
My trick with painting my nails I learned from the salon that I used to go to. I basically paint with reckless abandon and then go in with a makeup brush dipped in a small bowl of nail polish remover and clean up all the edges. It works like a dream!
The only problem with this technique is that long term, you can cause yourself to develop some dermatitis by getting nail products on your skin frequently, even though you take it off quickly with acetone. And that can also eventually lead to allergies to nail products.
@@emmaengland2726 Absolutely possible but I personally do this only every couple weeks when I do my own nails. And when that is, I tend to use a lot less acetone then would be used if I went to a salon.
I absolutely love Halo Taco and have almost every color!!!! And I swear by the super glossy top coat. I am really hard on my nails and it will help make the polish last much longer and if you put all Halo Taco on acrylic nails they last for weeks!!!
I love Holo Taco so much! I am especially stunned with the holo glitters, they are soo smooth after 2 topcoats (or should i say tacos ??) unlike all of the other glitters I've tried. I also love the depth of them.
Rach, I’d love to see what you think of the products from Nikkia Joy Cosmetics. She’s an Australian youtuber and has a fairly wide array of products from which to choose.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Her eyeshadow pigments are gorgeous and her finishing powder is supposed to be one of the best. So glad you made this request because I'd love for Rachel to review some of her products 😁
I love holo taco it's my absolute favorite. I recommend watching a few of her tutorials. I put the base coat let it dry then do the protective peel then do the colour. Then top coat to seal it. Also do one hand at a time. Let dry between coats. As others said don't do peely base and the peel off . Please retry I hope you will like it!
Holy cow I had no clue Hairitage hair care was created by Cute girls hairstyles! I have a few of her different products and I like them. I have the scalp scrub and I enjoy that one for sure.
The liquid latex from Holo Taco works better if you paint one hand at a time....also always always use a glossy Taco when you finish painting your nails.....it helps dry them and keeps the paint lasting longer
I have noticed with Jackie Aina’s candles, that the scent you smell when lit vs. not lit are very different with every single candle I have gotten from her brand. Also feel like the listing of notes never matches what it smells like when lit… I have liked every single candle I have gotten from them, just don’t think there is a way to really know what you’re getting scent wise until you light it.
I totally get what you mean about needing measurements on the glasses. I’ve seen frames I’ve loved only to find they’re too wide or narrow on my face, or the arms are too long or too short too to fit comfortably at my ears. I haven’t ordered any of Cristine’s polishes yet, but I do want to.
im really picky with dry shampoos, but also i find that spraying it on and letting it sit for like 5-10 minutes before rubbing it in makes them more effective at removing the excess oil. it gives the product time to absorb the oils, rather than just instantly rubbing it into your hair
I really love holo taco and I've gotten very comfortable painting my nails (even gel and polygel) and I must say peely base is just something that doesn't work for me. I can't get my nails to last more than a day and I find myself being overly-careful in daily activities when I do decide to use it. To the point where I avoid doing things I normally enjoy in order to preserve the nails. I know some people who hate removing thick chunky glitter polish off their nails find it really helps but I much prefer just soaking the nails with 100% acetone on cotton balls for 10 minutes or so really does the trick and saves me the frustration of peely base. I definitely recommend learning and practicing doing your own nails! I never ever go to a nail tech and I save so much money just doing them at home :-)
The random mention of my home country was a nice surprise. It's a small Pacific island country and not many people know about it. I watch your videos a lot so it was really cool for me to hear you briefly say Fiji 🇫🇯💙

You should try the Lash Next Door Mascara, it’s by Mindy’s daughters, Brooklyn and Bailey. I use it literally every single day, I absolutely love it. Really long lasting, doesn’t flake, but comes off super easy when I’m ready.
Wow okay, I thought the "left on read" glasses looked better on you actually!! They are both great sunnies but the "left on read" ones actually gave off a more retro 50s-60s vibes which totally fit with your hair and red shirt today. Cute!
I love Lilly Lashes since it launched. Lily Galichi from Shahs of Sunset started the brand. Some of the best out there. Will last a long time if you take good care of them. They are spendy- but worth it. I ADORE the Miami. Very pretty & not gaudy.
Yeeeeep, the peely base is super fun when you wanna layer on the glitter and be able to change it out, but I too have a toddler, so mine sits waiting for when she won't just peel every dang nail off of me before I have a chance to enjoy it. In the meantime, I just keep it easy and put hella top coat on that stuff, and it lasts well :)

I'm really vibing with your channel right now because you take us on a wild ride...its never the same & always has me laughing. THANK YOU 😊
That red on you is giving me such Christmas vibes!
CHRISTMAS IS HERE PEOPLE!!
I was looking for a comment like this lmao
Love her!!!
The tip i didn’t know i needed. Thank you!!
Frozen benanas is such the perfect combo of frosted metal and holo, perfect for thanksgiving mani!!!
I am pretty sure you already have a makeup fridge but if you don’t, YOU NEED ONE! Ok I keep cokes in mine but still 🤣
I don't know how women put on those beauty face masks after keeping them in the refrigerator.
I love love Holo Taco. All the fun glitters makes it look like I tried hard without even trying at all. It’s the perfect lazy girl “nail art”
I love the second glasses! More than the ones you like honestly
Mindy's products are so super amazing. They smell heavenly. Been using them since they came out and have probably used up 8 bottles of leave in conditioner. It's the best one on the market. Sooooo good. If you have tried it...ya need to!
Both pairs of sunglasses look great!! Wear the 2nd pair, they look fantastic (my fave)🥰
I’ve liked every Hairitage product I’ve tried! The purple shampoo is great. Love the flex hairspray too.
Have you tried and of Zabrinas lashes. Inky Minky. I have heard they are really good and she has so many different styles
Why did I subconsciously blow the screen when you finished painting your nails!? hahahahahahah xxx
The Frozen Benanas color for the birthday was stunning and I don't even like yellow.
I concur!!! I’m so curious about it
Yes! Yes! Yes! Her eyeshadow pigments are gorgeous and her finishing powder is supposed to be one of the best. So glad you made this request because I'd love for Rachel to review some of her products 😁
Her finishing powder is amazing!
Omg thank you! I was laughing hysterically with your liquid latex nail polish struggles.
May i give some tips? 😅 Protecting Latex should be removed when the polish ist still wet 😉and peelly base ist not "supposed" to last long. 😁
was like watching a toddler learning to paint oh my days 🤣 (we live and learn though i’m glad you noticed or fixed the errors u found)
I love holo taco it's my absolute favorite. I recommend watching a few of her tutorials. I put the base coat let it dry then do the protective peel then do the colour. Then top coat to seal it. Also do one hand at a time. Let dry between coats. As others said don't do peely base and the peel off . Please retry I hope you will like it!
Love love holo taco best polish ever! I use it with gel top and base lasts forever for me!
Plus using a blow dryer. Read that on one of them once and now that's what I always do. Spray, sit a few minutes then blow dry with finger tussle.
I relate to the nail painting portion sooooo much 😂, right down to touching the wet nail and sticking to everything.
Lunar beauty, specifically his lip glosses. They are *chef's kiss*
I LOVE Hairitage by Mindy!! SO many great things!
I like the middle part, but your hair looks so pretty with a side part!
I love that ACV hair rinse!!! It’s the only thing that calms my itchy dandruff scalp 🥰
Watch almost all the videos at 5 am getting ready for work 😊
Love it and if you could maybe review some over 40 " " techniques/hacks products?
Thank you
I live in East Tennessee and my Holo Taco bday launch took a week, I also just got my Holoday collection today (11/18) and it launched on Saturday (11/13). It’s been my experience that each launch gets faster shipping. I’ve heard it takes longer if you’re not based in the us though ~
Try Lights Laquer by Kathleen Lights!! She collabed with FRIENDS and her polishes are amazing!! 🤩
I was here to say the same thing!
You look so beautiful, Rachel! Sending you much love and hugs from Germany ❤️❤️❤️
You should try boomsy lashes ! It’s a Portuguese brand and being a newbie when it comes to fake lashes it’s a dope product !!
That red top looks lovely on you Rachel… and not surprised that you are baking cookies 🍪… always wanted to try Holo Taco good to see your experience 👍😀
The Hairitage Play it Cool Heat Protectant is amazing 👏
You should do another one of these videos! Maybe try Ingrid Nilsen’s handmade candles from her company The New Savant and Kathleenlights nail polish from KL Polish.
The Hairitage curl cream and texturizing powder are some of my favorite hair products lately and they smell amazing!
Don’t use protective peel and peely base together! That’s gonna be a mess I can already feel it
💅
So watching you doing your nails made me giggle so much. Reminded me of when i forst started when my daughter asked me to stop biting my nails so i could paint ours matchy matchy lol
You're a genius with the sunglasses head shape thing. Like seriously! We all have different head shapes and not all shapes of glasses look good on all of us. Like I like Cat eye but the look crazy on my sister and she looks great in aviators but I look like a blind man. I think you're such a genius and everyone should do it. 👏👏👏 bravo 🤓
Left on Read is my favorite ForvrMood candle🙌🙌🙌
Rachel you should do this video but with influencers boutiques! I know Tara Michelle has Imagine It Yours, Aspyn Ovard has one, Aaryn Williams has Pecos Princess and then Tara’s is Typically Blush. I’m sure there’s more but those are the ones I know of.
I love hairitage. I use one of the in shower shampoos, and the dry shampoo too.
also the peel off stuff that goes around your nails- i found that doing 2-3 thinner coats is easier
Love Holo taco! I don’t have a toddler, but I do beat up a keyboard all day, which is rough. I use the long lasting base and super glossy or glossy taco-and WRAP. the TIP. 😬 even if your nails are to the quick little stubs, wrap the tip.
You should try the Lash Next Door Mascara, it’s by Mindy’s daughters, Brooklyn and Bailey. I use it literally every single day, I absolutely love it. Really long lasting, doesn’t flake, but comes off super easy when I’m ready.
Please review Lashify! I also use Falscara and I want to know which is better !!
I bought Holo taco while ago. For me it was the best naipolish +top coat I ever wear. Normally my nails stays 2-3 days, with holo taco it's around 5
What styling tool do you use for your hair?? It looks beautiful! Ly Rachel 🫶🏻💗💗
I love that outfit on you! And your makeup and hair are absolutely gorgeous too!
I love love loveeeeee the glasses chris picked out for you! You look so chic and fab.
It’s funny how I always hit “like” even before watching the video, as I know it’s gonna be awesome 😂😂😂
Lol .Rachel I don't know which one is more clumsy me or you🤣🤣
Definitely want a part 2. This was awesome
Great video, I'm always curious about influencer brands. Try Tina's Petite Cosmetics next! 😁 And Zabrena's Inky Minky Lashes 😄
I have been waiting for you to try Holo taco 🌮. Personally, I love them
@RachhLoves can we get a video just dedicated to the Falscara please? I saw when u first tried them but I need like.. removing them, how long do u keep them on, what r ur lashes like when u take them off, how often do u wear them, etc
When she put the protective polish on BOTH hands and watched as she got stuck on everything….I was both amused and triggered.
