@jim mick actually there are two versions of the 2.5 TDI, the older 5 cylinder which is reliable AF and the newer V6 TDI version which is suffering from the Bosch VP fuel injector issue
Great engine. We own the 131PS version for over 215.000 km and over 10 jears now. (actually 327.000km) Still running great without any problems. First turbo, clutch, exhaust etc..
i got the same 1.9 tdi quattro 135HP for 10 years and didn t sold it even with 440 000 km, never had any issue, most reliable car i ever owned, so i kept it even if i don t drive a lot with it anymore !
I have this car, 1.9 tdi 100 from 2004 (AVB code) and it has 398,000 km on it (247,000 miles). It's on the original clutch and flywheel too, but in 2011 it had the turbo reconditioned. Even so, they are impressive motors! The last of the 'golden era' of indestructible VW/Audi diesel engines. I can confirm that even in the heavy Audi A4 estate (1500kg), the 100hp feels like more than 100hp. It reached this high mileage even with the EGR force-feeding it its own filth for 16 years. I have disabled the egr now and it feels even better to drive.

One of the best engines, will go on forever and a day extra if you look after it, they hold their power, super reliable, economical, and very capable for tuning 👌 I know examples with 1,000,000+km and still going strong, can’t see todays 1.0 3 cyl ecoshit do that
This was my car for a while, mine had 315 thousand kilometers on the clock and eventually broke down on the motorway, engine didn't die and it got sold but always will have a special place in my heart this lovely little wagon.
I have one from 2002 1.9 tdi avant pd 130 with 335569 km, original turbo, original clutch ,motor, turbo... and no repro, it goes almost 230km/h...i just have to say good things about this car. Zero problems in 4 years and 200thousands made on the car. Its a war machine 😃

@@b9brap123 dpf issues only there if you drive them in city only and dont take them out on motorway runs, but thats the same with the 1.9tdi, keep driving it in town and the egr and turbo gets clogged up bad, just there wont be a light telling you it is...

I got the same engine in a skoda octavia from 2010, got now about 410k km, but would never dare to drive that fast in it, i think the max speed in the papers is like 170. the engine does not sound happy when over 3k rpm i feel like, a good 1,800 rpm sounds a lot better
My 04 1.9tdi A4 130hp lasted 384000km before replacing the engine/gearbox due to head gasket failure. Still going strong now with over 400000km on the clock here in South Africa. Just a shame we don't have an autobahn... Love these cars!
My old golf III TDI 90 has be killed by rust (to many rust for one 12 years old car). This car have more than 450.000 km with same engine ... and turbo! great car!

I've bought this car brand new (mine was benzin though), notice that the speedo error is huuuuge on those B6s. Around 15kph error at 170kph for example.

Good performance and about a liter. less fuel consumption . Whatsoever I wouldn’t consider it really realiable as the classic 1.9 Tdis e.g. in the Passat b6
I have this engine in Octavia 1 and my top speed is around +/- 195km/h...it is good engine for going to work or from destination A to destination B,not for sporting and top speeding. My average consumption is about 5l/100km... I think very good for 15 years car with 300 000km and original engine,turbo and clutch!
